That was The best hands down informative tour that was extremely enjoyable and well shot. The tour guide should get Major kudos for his knowledge, and speaking. Awesome tour Thanx!!!
Andy's Awesome Adventures I would like to know where all the normal, everyday average Joe lives that I see in your videos.....surely the people working in the cafes and bakeries can't afford the 2 to 3 thousand dollar a month rent?? What about the policemen I see in little Italy....do they have to commute? I'm a printer by trade and would love to live in NYC, but I never seen any print shops in your video....I have so many questions. Are the upper floors in the buildings in China town and little Italy apartments? Is it safe to venture out after dark? Are there any boarding houses with rooms for rent, so one could live and save a few paychecks to find a safe place to live in Manhattan or China town or little Italy??
A lot of New Yorkers live on Manhattan, in condos and ordinary flats, in the so called ‘Projects’ and residential areas like East Village where mid-income families live. 1,6 million people commute to Manhattan from places like Jersey, Brooklyn, Queens and even as far away as upstate New York. On the other hand, 130,916 residents of Manhattan leave the county for work, with 27,179 going to Bronx County, 23,906 to Brooklyn and 20,087 to Queens County. (Census Bureau Reports 2013). You ask: “Are the upper floors in the buildings in China town and little Italy apartments?” Yes, in general. You ask: “Is it safe to venture out after dark?” Yes. in most places. If one uses one's common sense, you are usually on the safe side. If you wave a lot of dollar bills in a dark alley, you won’t be safe. You ask: “Are there any boarding houses with rooms for rent,...”Sure there is. Look in the local papers and adds on the wall in the local mart.
I grew up in Brooklyn and worked in Manhattan all of my life -- started on Wall Street, then the garment district, then mid-town, just around the corner from the major library on Fifth Avenue, then further up -- Park Ave., South (within walking distance of Grand Central Station). Also visited the top of the original World Trade Center and many, many other places. Anyway, what I wish to say is that, despite my being a "native", so to speak, in watching this tour I am realizing just how little I know about NYC -- and it's history. Wish there was more.
Imran Nadal_ CR7_Khyber Pakhtunkhwa • But mid-winter with a gorgeous snowfall in Central Park is something LA can’t have. But who can argue with Royal Palms lining many streets? Aha decisions, decisions. Maybe visit one, and then a year later visit the other! (You’ll have a hard time putting either one of those up against THE most beautiful area of the USA - my beloved South! Where people are polite and Jesus Christ is King! And we definitely have the country’s best cooks!)
Imran Nadal_ CR7_Khyber Pakhtunkhwa • Please don’t listen to the stereotype songbirds! We are multi-cultural and embrace all peoples. The worst thing about us is the humidity in summer, lol. But you will be welcome!
Imran Nadal_ CR7_Khyber Pakhtunkhwa • I don’t think so, Sir. (Honestly I’ve never met anyone from those beautiful States in person; but I’ve seen the country on Google Earth and in books; and I’ve met some online. )The thread that weaves the tapestry is that we’re all Americans. Right now, in all honesty, political parties are very divided especially in “keyboard kingdoms” but I have found, when you talk to people face to face, you can always find common ground on issues everyone faces - parenting, buying groceries, etc etc. Just like in this NYC video, that guy could easily be my neighbor!🤗
Oh my God, this was an excellent tour! Thank you so much for sharing this. What a fountain of knowledge this guide has - and he’s only been living there 6 years! I am going to watch it again. I was supposed to take my daughter to NYC this summer, but Covid put an end to that. We will watch this together. Thank you again!
Thank you Andy for sharing both of your walking tour to The Big Apple!! Tour guide Bobby is full of knowledge about the city, he makes the tour fun and interesting. I hope during my next visit, he'll be my guide!! I agree...felt like I was walking with you :))
Andy, Just want to say a big thank you for filming this tour and sharing it with us all on youtube. Sending you best wishes from South Wales, in the U.K.
I am also from Wales, i really understand the term 'small town' now after watching this amazing video, i feel like id have massive cultural shock if i ever moved to NYC !
zana gergin • I have a good “virtual” friend from Haverfordshire West, whom I’ve never met but have emailed back and forth for years. We’re both getting on up there in years, and I hope we’ll be able to really meet someday. I’ve been “all over” Wales in Google Earth, lol. But someday, if our health holds out, I’m going to meet my friend Gail.
Really enjoyed all the info Bobby gave during this long 9 hour tour! I'll be going to NY City soon for my very first time and this has really been some great and helpful information!
Wow..this was absolutely fantastic..part 1 & 2..The tour guide is superb..so knowledgeable and full of energy. I feel better prepared for my second trip to NYC this Nov. 👏
Thanks Andy, I would love to take this tour and hope to see Bobby guiding .. good energy .. Initially I was thinking of doing a walking tour all by myself but after seeing your video and Bobby's insights in every monument , I understand that a good guide can add true value to the time spent in the city and make a life long memory .. Thanks again !!
Glad you enjoyed the video but it's one thing to see New York City in a video and another thing to visit it in person. Believe me-it's worth the visit if you ever get a chance.
FirstName LastName I've been lucky enough to visit twice, 2006 and 2016. Although this is a great video, there's no substitute for going there in person
I watched tour part 1 and 2 and enjoyed Bobby's information. He is so knowledgeable and did a fantastic job. Now I'm so tired and need to take a nap. Thank you for sharing
I'm about to go to NY for the 2nd time in April. I went there 6 years ago (I was 12yo) and I remember how much I loved this city. Your video is really good, it makes me even more excited than I was 2 hours ago.. Can't wait ! Thank you
In this two-video set (Part 1 and Part 2), I’ve seen and heard a lot of interesting New York history. Thank you for great filming, editing, and your tour guide was awesome, “you guys!” Perfect for people like me, who like to ‘armchair travel’ for health reasons. Thanks so much for having us along!
man just got done watching pts 1 and 2 on my TV. that tour guide deserves his own Travel Channel Show. and your footage was Excellent. hands down this is the BEST video of exploring NYC i have ever seen. and I have visited there 5 times.
It's really hard for us to visit NYC being native Greeks, living in Athens, and this was definitely the best tour we've seen so far! Kudos for the upload and double-kudos to Bobby! Amazing job! Thank you!
Well, I'm heading to NYC on Sunday for a long awaited sight seeing your. I've paid in advance for several tours. If this fella was for hire I'd go with him. Wow! I watched both part 1 and 2. Felt like I cheated the system and went for free. Terrific videos. Thanks a million for the great work.
Hey Andy. I'm heading to New York on the 20th July, and stumbled across your video, and woah, so many places I'd never have known to visit, and honestly I felt like I was there with you all. Bobby is amazing, and I can only hope he is still doing these tours, because what an amazing wealth of information that man has and it would be a shame for anyone on the tour not to get to hear his breakdown, I'm almost debating booking with the instructions it has to be Bobby doing the tour :) Thank you again for taking the time to film this, and put it together, I was excited for my trip before, but my god, I'm even more so after watching this!
Thank you so much Ashleigh! Yes, Bobby was fantastic but I don't think he works for New York Tour1 anymore. However, I'm sure their other guides are great, too. New York is a great town-so much to see and do!
dude, this was fantastic. watched part 1 and 2, didn't think id make it but that was a lot of fun. Im going to be visiting NYC for the my first time this May and this definitely helped. thanks for the upload!
Wow...........what a fabulous guide and a FANTASTIC tour of New York City. Thank You so much for posting this. I enjoyed it so much. I felt like I was there. Thanks for sharing!!
Cant' believe I watched the entire 1 hr video...But it was SOOOO GOOD! I've been to NYC any times but learned more in 60 mins than ALL my visits put together. My brain hurts. Well done.
Wow both part one and two were great, I am from Europe and I really want to go to New york, i have seen plenty of vlogs and videos but i didn't really give interest to history that much before..these videos made me open my mind because when I usually travel to places in Europe they always talk about the same boring things...but New york is different and has lots of man made history but it is very interesting.. Now at least when I go there i will know the history of the famous buildings i will be taking selfies with :) Keep it up! must have been tiring holding the camera for almost 2hrs or more.
+YoYo “yoyo” blue Thank you so much! Yes, New York is an amazing city and the history of New York is intertwined with the early history of the United States. I actually had my camera with me for 9 hours although I wasn't filming the whole time. Thankfully, my video camera fits in my side pocket!
He’s a great guide, this is a good video very informative and interesting, this guide really knows his stuff, he was not boring at all. He kept me captivated. Thank you for sharing your video with us You Tube viewers.
+slavi e manh can You're welcome! Yes, Bobby was such a great guide-he really made the tour very enjoyable. If you get a chance, please watch Part 1 which is midtown Manhattan-also very interesting.
The Mrs. and I are to old for traveling, we waited to long and so these videos are a very good way for us to see a city that is so interesting and exciting, we appreciate the tour.
Andy thank you so much for sharing your visit to New York City. I must say your tour guide was very, very informative and well spoken. I could listen to him all day. Does he tour the Bronx, Brooklyn and any of the other borough of NY?
I know that New York Tour1 does a one day Brooklyn tour. You can check out their website www.newyorktour1 and call them to request Bobby. Maybe he does a private tour in the other boroughs?
really enjoyed watching this ,we are going to new York soon from uk with my daughter was a bit cautious but feel much better so informative , bobby seems such a lovely man and an excellent guide
Thanks a lot Andy that was awesome! And the shout out to Bobby bought some months of information! I don't know how those go about I know that I will never get to go nor will I ever get to walk if I could go however you and Bobby made it very interesting I can only imagine what that set you back and I hope a big portion of it went to your guide Bobby. Thank you so so much for sharing God bless.
Hi Carol-actually, Bobby was the tour guide. I filmed and edited the video and that's me at the very beginning but Bobby gets all the credit and I'm sure he's very appreciative of your comment.
I never leave comments on UA-cam videos, but I thoroughly enjoyed this tour! Great video. You should do this for every city you visit. I'm also two years late to this video, but I'm glad I watched both videos. Awesome!
Great couple of videos. Thank you for uploading these. I am moving to NYC this summer, and it is really cool to see the historical significance of the various buildings and neighborhoods in NYC.
Fantastic videos Andy! Thank you for uploading your NY Adventure. Your videos are the best I've seen and it felt like I was with YOU GUYS ;) Bobby is such a great tour guide! I've written down every place that you went to and wish us luck when we go visit NY this October. Cheers!
Thank you so much! I appreciate and I'm sure Bobby appreciates your comments. Yes, best of luck and enjoy your October visit. You should have some nice fall weather.
Honestly, you are awesome! I loved watching you. You delivered so much information. I appreciate your vitality and enthusiasm. Great job!! You are gifted!
Hi Maggie. Thanks but I only supplied the facts through graphics now and then. Bobby from New York Tour1 was the tour guide and yes, he's quite knowledgeable.
Thanks for watching Parts I and II! Yes, this was an awesome tour because New York is an awesome city and because we had an awesome tour guide. You definitely need to visit New York one day.
At 5:40 Bobby talks about the Dutch that they had no city hall but a tavern called "Stadhuis"..In Dutch that means.... CITY HALL :) ..Thanks for sharing this video Andy I really enjoyed it . Greetings from the Netherlands
Going to New York for the 1st time in August & couldn't decide what to see and how to go about it but after seeing this i now know this is what im going to do and this will save me so much time and effort. thanks so much.
2020. Thank you so much for the tour of New York. I have friends that live in New Jersey they're supposed to take us across the water to New York when we go to visit them. Not this year of course next year. You had an awesome tour guide. I'm sure by the time I get there he'd probably moved on. Thanks again!
Glad you enjoyed the video, Stephanie. Yes, we did have an awesome tour guide and yes, unfortunately, I'm pretty sure he is no longer conducting tours anymore. Having said that, you will definitely enjoy visiting the Big Apple when things get back to normal. FYI, I grew up in NYC and New Jersey.
Thank you for posting your videos! My husband and I will be visiting in April and will be doing the 6 hour tour! SO super excited and I hope we get a tour guide as awesome as yours!! :)
Amazing guide with a great voice and way of talking and telling of all of whats important and interesting in NY. Would LOVE to go on a tour with him. One of THE greatest cities in the world no doubt. But WAY too expensive and thats such a shame everything costs a leg and the prices of apartments and rent is INSANE. Anyways great tour and great guide.
Wow...this guy is really good! Knowledgable and enjoyable! Thanks for filming and sharing. I will definitely have to look him up when I get back up to the City!
Awesome, you guys, Bobby and Andy! Watched part 1 & 2. Agreed with Mallika - virtually there! I was planning to re-visit NYC (first time there in the late 80's) end of Sept, and it fell through. Watching the tour gave me a sense of being with you, IN the Apple! Thank you for posting this! And for the super interesting engaging tour (wow, I'm usually not even a tour gal, but would love to be on one of yours!)!
Oops, sorry. Bobby was great. If I were twenty years younger I would definitely have joined a tour. I have great memories of three vacations in NYC in the 70s - prostitutes were still on the streets and the place was sleazy, but I loved it. Watch Taxi Driver and you’d get an idea.
Andy real THANK YOU,seeing new york & with person talking plus guiding also. My Dream was to work in New York But as responsibility could not make it , Myself from India Mumbai. watching Andy tour is like dream come true. So Thank you
"You guys" He did a great job! I am a born and raised NYCite and there was information that I did not know. I appreciate the video work. Oh I am one of those Italians that moved away (to Southern California). Little Italy has shrunken to only 6 blocks now. Ciao!
I feel like I went to New York this morning. Thank you!
ME TOO
That was The best hands down informative tour that was extremely enjoyable and well shot. The tour guide should get Major kudos for his knowledge, and speaking. Awesome tour Thanx!!!
+Karma Michelle Moon Thanks for watching and yes, our tour guide Bobby was awesome!

As a printer You can print Your own money (don't need to worry about I high rent) .

I kinda loved his over use of You Guys.
I was thinking the same thing lol
At least he's not pronouncing it as Youse gies or is that more Boston?
Really enjoyed the tour! Very informative. Great guide!
Very knowledgeable and eloquent tour guide. Has good memory and facts on his tips. Good videos.
Thank you for that fabulous tour Andy, and thanks to your amazing guide xx
You're quite welcome! I learned a lot despite having worked in Manhattan for three years a while back.
I'm sure I would learn a lot about my home town if i ever went on a tour x
This dude knows a lot about New York
I know NY pretty well having lived and worked there for my first 50 years. This guy does a really nice job. Hats off to you Andy.
Glad you enjoyed the video!

I personally always prefer a guide to seeing something myself. If you book with them request Bobby and I'm sure you'll get him.
This was really well done. I felt like I was in the middle of New York. No need to visit it now. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed the video but it's one thing to see New York City in a video and another thing to visit it in person. Believe me-it's worth the visit if you ever get a chance.

Great tour, great video and great tour guide 👍👍👍 just what we need during lockdown in the UK
I feel sad it's over!😂 It legitimately felt like I was on the tour. This (and the first part) is probably my favorite videos on UA-cam
Wow-that's quite a compliment! Thank you and I'm sure our guide Bobby thanks you, too!

Thanks for watching both videos-glad you enjoyed them! Next time I visit San Francisco, I hope to so something similar.
Great couple of videos. Thank you for uploading these. I am moving to NYC this summer, and it is really cool to see the historical significance of the various buildings and neighborhoods in NYC.
Thank you for watching them. Enjoy the Big Apple!
Thank you for bringing me back to NYC. Best tour & guide I’ve seen online.
You're welcome-glad you enjoyed the video!
Fantastic videos Andy! Thank you for uploading your NY Adventure. Your videos are the best I've seen and it felt like I was with YOU GUYS ;) Bobby is such a great tour guide! I've written down every place that you went to and wish us luck when we go visit NY this October. Cheers!

Andy...you're so knowledgeable. Picked up on some New York history. I felt like I was part of the tour. Nice job!

@@AndysAwesomeAdventures I will definitely. Hoping the South African rand can grow stronger.
At 5:40 Bobby talks about the Dutch that they had no city hall but a tavern called "Stadhuis"..In Dutch that means.... CITY HALL :) ..Thanks for sharing this video Andy I really enjoyed it . Greetings from the Netherlands
Thanks for watching-glad you enjoyed it! Perhaps the tavern was the unofficial City Hall?
Going to New York for the 1st time in August & couldn't decide what to see and how to go about it but after seeing this i now know this is what im going to do and this will save me so much time and effort. thanks so much.
You're very welcome-glad the video helped you.
Awesome video you guys. Thank you for filming, you guys. Bye now, you guys.
Thank you for posting your videos! My husband and I will be visiting in April and will be doing the 6 hour tour! SO super excited and I hope we get a tour guide as awesome as yours!! :)
Call New York Tour1 and ask them if you can get Bobby as your tour guide for that tour. Have a great time!

Thanks Melanie! I do hope you get to reschedule your NYC visit and see the Big Apple with Bobby as your guide.
I’m exhausted and my feet ache! Great videos and Andy is a lovely man.
Thanks! Actually, I'm Andy and I took and edited the video but Bobby is the tour guide who I think you are referring to.
I visited Manhattan several times in the 1970's and started working in Manhattan in 1980 so I know exactly what you mean.
How lucky was I to find your video here Andy. Thanks for sharing - it was a fun tour - it was free, and I didn't get sore feet lol.
Glad you enjoyed it-thanks for watching!
What a fabulous tour.....I am from New York......and this was truly amazing historical guide to NYC!
