This is the best documentary podcast on marriage period. As someone who is recently married your trials and tribulations is similar to mine. Like Josh said you can't listen with your mouth open. Don't ever think the whole marriage is going to be perfect.There will be trials but you have to pick the person who will be willing to stand by during the tough times. Just watched all 3 parts back to back, and as a long-time subscriber who has seen a good bit of y’all’s journey (and have always loved your relationship)…I just have to say I’m so proud of how far you guys have come. ESPECIALLY seeing y’all grow in your relationships with God and seeing how that has evolved you both individually and as a couple for the better. My husband and I just celebrated 1 year of marriage on the 14th and chile…life do indeed be life-ing lol but there’s so much to be grateful for and all glory to God fr. Just as my husband and I often pray over ourselves, I pray that God continues to mold y’all into the man and woman He’s called you to be 🫶🏾 much loveeee

I cannot continue to say how proud I am of the both of you! In my first year marriage I went through a depression and got through it. I needed medication and that really helped me. Thanks to my loving husband and his patience we have been married now for 31 years. We have three beautiful children together and are still going strong. We have our ups and downs from time to time like any normal marriage but we continue to work together to have a happy marriage. God bless you guys. I know you guys are going to make it as long as you put God first.
When I got married, we had a baby 7 years later. We travel, and I love my husband for that.

I expressed this to the two of you before your marriage in a comment. Josh since you are a college graduate with a very insightful personality I feel you would benefit from totally getting into the working world outside of your relationship. You seem to have a personality to possibly teach children, and since you are active, you could possibly go into the physical education aspect maybe for elementary to middle schoolers. A lot of times men of your age group tend to have a competitive mindset when you have a partner who is doing fairly well financially and I think that's what has caused you strife in your spirit. The key to snapping out of that is to pursue your own career and I believe you need to do that outside of the home. I remember you had that once in retail management but that didn't seem to be your niche but this country needs teachers and I think you fit the script for the kind of teachers needed. I know there are further certifications outside of your BA that are needed but I can't see where that's something you can't accomplish. Let Isi have "her social media thing" and get yourself a 9-5 and let go of trying to compete with her financially. You literally need YOUR OWN CAREER.
This was so real ❤ just had our 1st anniversary and that first year was very humbling. When we let God take more control, things got a whole lot more clear and manageable.
I got married in March, I'm 34 so there's a few yrs age difference but I learn and grow everytime I hear tou all speak. Long time follower, just extending the love and support to Josh and Isi because it's so admirable to have that open dialogue. "Miami" is "chill talk" in our home and it's allowed so much more openness without judgment. Keep doing these, it's the Lords work esp in this day and age to show marriage is possible and can last if you work toward it. Love you both from afar, continue to prosper🎉❤
We have to understand that we aren't taught financial literacy, so please respect these versions of yourselves. We are growing, learning, and money is attracted to us. It will find it's way back. ❤
Honestly I think yall spent yall money on the right things !! Experiences are so important to life !! The high rise, the wedding events, the wedding these are worth paying for !! I remember isi saying she was frugal or something a couple years ago and yall don’t spend money on all that designer and etc so money well spent !!
I'm so grateful you were vulnerable enough to share this. I've been here for years and remember how you would reject anyone offering advice about relationships. The factors I feel contribute to your strength is your faith, your commitment to each other and how insightful you both are. I'm not surprised you got (and are still getting) the lesson(s) so fast. The best advice I can give, 24 years in… communicate everything, be up front and honest about everything, create a space for your spouse to feel like they can come to you with anything and there be no judgement. And as a wife, the home needs to be a space of peace for your husband. Learn and understand each others love languages.
Josh, we are all worthy ( a better word than deserving) so ask for what you want from God-just know, u might not be ready therefore, he might wait on your behalf. BUT, you are deserving and better said, worthy!!!
I’ve been married for 2 years now and what I learned is not to quench the Holy Spirit I learned to understand the Holy Spirit when he’s speaking to me, but I doubt it when I heard it through someone else specifically my husband and my husband said one day in a argument “you have not learned to trust the God in me” that shook me because I didn’t think of it like that.
I just took it as my husband is saying something right now that I don’t want to hear and something he wants me to do but the Lord uses people & was trying to get to me through him.
So basically like isi said listen to your husband.

I truly love this first year marriage Vlog. ISI, I totally understand your expression when you spoke about the woman’s empowerment panel that you attended. Sometimes the Lord uses familiar things in our lives to show us and teach us the growth he would like to see within us. Man. Our year 1 was a punch in the face lol we went through so so much from miscarriage to surgeries, to parenting in the pandemic. We’re now in year 6 going into year 7. It was so much but we’re still growing together. It’s not easy but it’s worth it

Man I love you guys, and im so happy for you! I've heard marriage is a mirror but for sure didnt know what it meant til i was in it. If you haven't dealt with things within yourself ahead of marriage, speaking for myself here lol, it will be like someone just put a spotlight on them. Thankful for the Most High giving us grace to make it through almost 13 yrs so far and wishing you both many many years filled of love ahead ❤

It’s just a change of season, in your life. When change come that’s when you turn the page on that book. GOD, started a new chapter and new season. But as long as you go through this together, it’s nothing you both can do together. Read Psalm 121, Psalm 34, Psalm 91. Love you both ❤

2:17 made me think about Kevin samuel and his channel in its entirety of why he started his channel. It’s so Effd up that some black women real deal clapped for his death because that was what that man was doing. Some Black Women didn’t want to accept his vulnerability & the truth of how he felt. So by the looks of it today, some of those black women still don’t accept what was said. I truly hate that for black men. Your experiences and expressions of yourself deserve to be heard, shared, and respected period.
