Riding in Hawaii in 4K - Pāhoa/Puna, Big Island of Hawai’i

- A crispy and saturation-exploded because reasons 4K motorcycle helmet cam video showing a short part of a super scenic relaxing ride near my house, POV from my Honda ST1300, on the one paved road that goes up into Hawaiʻi's largest remaining lowland wet forest; the Wao Kele O Puna Forest Reserve. It's about 24km south of the city of Hilo, and on top of Kīlauea volcano's East Rift Zone and near the Puʻu ʻŌʻō vent volcanic cone on the eastern rift zone. None were seen on this video but typically I'll cross paths with several random mongooses, hilariously scurrying back and forth across the road on little mongoose adventures.
The lava over the fence at the very end told me the location of this beautiful ride!
Oh my god, I had to sub you after I watched your "Living on the Big Island of Hawaii in the Puna district...is different." video, that was some funny shit! Everything you say in that video is true, and my local and Hawaian friends would agree I think 🤣. I live in Fern Forest, and love it. I tell my friends everything that you said in that video, it is one of the most if not thee most accurate description of what it is like to live on the big island and Puna. The part where you talked about the safety stickers and registration on the cars cracked me up! Those pink stikers they put on the abandoned cars cracks me up, they let them sit a week before they tow them, and they just end up picked clean, then burned like you said🤦♂. Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it! I wasn't sure how well some of my observations would go over with the locals so I disabled the comment section for that video. I keep thinking of more things I could have added, like how in this humidity instant ramen and cup noodles in kitchen cupboards get stale surprisingly fast, even sealed in their packages. And that my metal clothes hangers in my closet are getting a film of rust on them. And how dealing with mosquitoes flying around with me in the shower is an almost-daily thing.
