    Giannis' meteoric rise on the ATG list is insane when you consider how young he is relatively speaking. Jokic & Luka will make the club very soon. If Steph wins another ring that should comfortably bump him up to tier 2.

      And he played in one of the most loaded big man eras we will probably ever see... I mean David Robinson (one of my favorite players) is looked over cause he was the 3rd at best and maybe even lower during his peak. If he played in this era he'd be even more of a match up nightmare imho

      @newneon00Hakeem also played like a guard, so you can't put him in a box and say "centers peak"
      Many of his playoff numbers were better than most players in NBA history regardless of position and regardless how far his teams got in the playoffs.
      Also is top 10 in steals ever.
      This means he was better than guards at their own skill....which steals is usually higher among guards than big men

    Jimmy's content is always top quality! The craziest thing to think of is how Giannis has accomplished so much in under a decade and still has at least 4 more years of peak performance. Another championship moves him to tier 3 and another MVP maybe to tier 2, after that it's up to his accolades accumulated because of longevity to dictate where he ends up.

    • @trewic8678
      @trewic8678 7 місяців тому

      he’s only 29. most physical players dip out of their peak at around 34-35. realistically he has another 5-6 years of dominance and then another 3-4 of a slow descent if he stays healthy. he might even win a ring without being the best player on his team. he just needs to develop his post game and his mid range jumper (which he’s doing) in order to ensure longevity. he could win another 1-3 rings if we are speaking realistically.

      Great player, top 3 shooting guards of his era, transcendent player in terms of how we looked at smaller guards who can play both point and 2 guard. But he couldn't defend anyone at 5'11 160 lbs, he had work ethic issues in terms of preparation and training, and never quite brought huge success in terms of playoff wins on his teams. Love AI, I think he's top 10 shooting guards of all time, but he doesn't belong on the list imo

      @Reggie Brown absolutely he was great and carried a terrible team, but it's not about his peak highlights, it's about his overall career. And it doesn't warrant him to be in the top 30 imo, he's just outside that group. I'd put Iverson in the group with guys like Tmac and Nash. Amazing HOF level players, but it's hard to warrant them in terms of accomplishments. Now if this list was just based on who was the best at playing basketball, of course Tmac and Iverson would be like top 15, but that's not the criteria here

    Iverson was a great scorer by skills but an inefficient one. The only reason he scored a lot is because he jacks up a lot. He is a PG and in his era, he could've passed more and have a lot more assists.
    In football analogy, he's like a midfielder that shoots a lot at the goal but misses the target quite often, which in turn wastes possession and unable to create for his teammate who could've been in better position to score.
    Now, also take into consideration that he played on one of the most atrocious team in the NBA. He had no help, not until he got to the Nuggets. At that point, he's a little bit older and his playmaking wasn't as developed because of a decade of being the only star player on his previous team.

    Chuck should move up there, he don't have chips but absolutely rank higher then that, putting Gianis there is pretty impressive, and I think Kohi deserve better, yeah he do have problems this times but that young prime Kohi on the Spurs you can't underestimate that, the only guy who can go toe to toe with prime LeBron James in the Miami Heat, without him the Spurs won't be the biggest threat to the Miami Heat in those times and also winning the Raptors their first ever championship in NBA history is a big deal in NBA history what many other failed to do, and also giving the NBA one of the greatest clutch shot ever in the playoffs history. And taking Alen Iverson out is the crazyest thing to do too what?? that is AI he may not have championship but one of the greatest ever in all NBA history one of the only three players who can change the NBA by being themselves, no way I'm going to take Dirk over AI he is great but AI is special.

      lol, LeBron's peak was definitely as good as Jordan's. LeBron single-handedly facilitated the offense as a PG, scored like a superstar, rebounded like a strong PF, defended like an elite wing, and in his Miami prime, shot like a sharpshooter. He's more complete and showed it in his stats. Jordan just scored the living hell out of the ball, and defended like his life was on the line. He took a while to develop any range, he passed because of the sheer attention and pressure on him, he could rebound well for his size and frame, but got bodied by bigger dudes.
