Brock played a good game Sunday. There was no struggling, but the Vikings D took some things away which made it a bit more difficult to run the offense like we’re used to.
There were some sacks and yeah he fumbled and tried to fit that pass to juice in a tight window and there was one to deebo that was too tight of a window as well but am I the only one who saw Brock make some incredibly amazing throws??? I’m mean receivers were absolutely blanketed and he put the ball in places only the receiver can grab. Without the JJ td we win? Idk why everyone is freaking out about Brock in more concerned with Shannahans ability too manage close and tough games. The fact we didn’t run more and do more play action is crazy. We started so pass heavy
As great as Steve was he also threw a lot of int’s. My Dad had a great comment about both Steve and Favre “they both have the unique ability of keeping both teams in the game”.
The Super Bowl was not on Brock. CMC and Luter coat then 10 if not 14 points. Add in the biased officiating that refused to call holding on the KC offense ONE TIME, and it doesn't matter who's playing QB. How dynamic was Tom Brady running the football? Did he run the RPO? I rest my case.
I can't stand the Niners & I'm pretty sure they would have lost considering they fumbled & bumbled their way through the entire game, but it is true that the Chiefs offensive line held worse than anything I've ever seen in a long time & simply did not get called for it.
If Joshua Dobbs had started against Minnesota Niners would have won that ballgame! Minnesota knew Purdy wasn’t going to run a lot! Dobbs is always a threat to run and he runs the offense really well! Dobbs have been successful everywhere he has played! And Dobbs is a very competitive athlete!
Brilliant analysis from Steve and re-analysis from you. He's got to evolve his game to continue to thrive and most importantly for this team to thrive. Must be able to adapt without the premium pieces he has around him. The pieces are falling and the others aren't delivering the way they can or have in the past, so it's time to put on the cape and get a little creative and dynamic. Montana was understatedly mobile and rarely gets credit for the use of his legs on rollouts and scrambles. He had some moments in that last game when he needed to dip out of the pocket and stood in there and other where he needed to step up and climb the pocket. He was definitely off and you could see the disruption the Vikings D caused. Just gotta learn and move forward.
Brock did his job against the Vikings. 28/36 319 yards- 2nd in the NFL for week 2. He had a weird ball that slipped out of his hand for a turnover and 1 pick too, but overall it was a good game. The defense didn’t do their jobs. Don’t listen to Steve Young - he lost more big games for us than he won.
This is why we need depth and we need to rotate more instead of over using the same guys. Now we have our best player injured in CMC. Put Cowing in the starting lineup. He showed up let's roll with him
Dude he threw 300 yards and completed 78% of his passes. He threw tight window more than anyone else in the league over the last two weeks. What the fuck is going on??????
Stopping Mahomes, allen, jackson is a defense problem. not a Purdy problem. This gives other wide outs a chance to step up. I thought the 49ers where coached out of the game
Im just so excited that the 9er fans are this in love with Purdy... Please keep him.. Sign him to the biggest contract ever... Then.. When deebo.. Cmc.. Kittle all move on... The niners will have purdy.. And that bill to pay for the next 7 years... 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
If our Oline can hold up and protect Brock he’s gonna be alright. It’s all about the trenches man. CMC and Deebo in there or not. If the oline is bad we got trouble
Will Shanahan let Purdy loose is the question...I like what Steve Young said, they need to let Purdy be the QB he was in the playoff games against the Packers and Lions, go off script a bit.
You people are not realizing that Brock has the highest passing yardage through the first 2 weeks.Chill out and left the offense catch up to the defenses.
Re Focus on Purdy: I thought that after introducing relevant comments by Steve Young, you were going to differentiate your own view from the 49er mob of analyzers who fear drifting too far from the official line, which is that Purdy was the unexpected perfect pearl within the unpromising oyster of low draft picks. 49er fans should not criticize him, because it's NEVER his fault nor is he a PRIMARY reason for a particular defeat. You started out firmly, then suddenly began retreating into equivocations and shrugging of shoulders. It is clear that at this stage of his career, Brock Purdy isn't a quarterback to instinctively move from a scripted play to an improvised one. He is overwhelmingly Kyle's actor executing a Kyle-scripted play. What was most telling about the 49er-Viking game was that the issues manifested in the 1st half were in no way fixed by Kyle and his staff during the half-time break. The 2nd half was at least as bad as the 1st half. I cannot remember any draw plays, and certainly not by Purdy. Perhaps Kyle feared a "head bonk" being inflicted on Brock "the Pearl" Purdy. Kyle can always fall back on the injury and out-of-shape list to explain the loss, thus protecting his QB from heavy criticism. However, a team's plays are pre-designed; such plays should include contingency plays when the primary scripted plays aren't working. Each game should have a "what if?" alternate set of plays. Fixes and patches have to be ready to implement at half-time. In defense of Kyle & his football braintrust, there were several distractions early-to-late summer, which might have distracted him/them. Kyle has shown a tendency to gamble poorly and unwisely. How else does one explain his putting Jarret Kingston on waivers, rather than one of his abundant, often injured DBs? One of the perennial issues with the 49ers under Kyle is the O-line. If Kyle has a low opinion of any aspect of his 49er team, it is clearly the O-line. It shows year after year.
The Niners have always beat the Rams when they bullied them in the run game. And that’s what has happened to the Rams their first 2 games. So I don’t know if this is the game when they lean on Brock or throw a ton of
You can't change a pocket passer to someone who eludes and runs. That's a ridiculous take, Steve should know better. Also Young was very good but he made a lot of huge mistakes in big games by fumbling when running. He's probably the reason the 90s niners only won one ring.
Brad, 6 sacks, how many pressures did he have ? He was hereing foot steps when a defensive side of the ball has their way. I would say he missed a few options instead of deebo should have went BA. But maybe Deebo was the 1st target. Rpo's not sure the line can protect him . PROTECTION FOR MVPURDY NINER STRONG 💪
Idk bout Steve’s comments, he’s been feeling himself way too much. It all comes down to the OLine and the game plan. When you have Mason running 5ypc, Aiyuk Kittle and backups are plenty good. OLine needs to pass block better than last game. RPOs?? Cmon Steve, the best runs for even Purdy but for any QB is when they aren’t trying to run but do so when it’s open and everything else is covered.
This stretch will determine whether the niners sign brock to a 60 million dollar contract Or let him walk and either go get a top FA QB or a top QB prospect in the 2025 or 2026 nfl draft
Lmaoo if u think 2-3 three games have that much power over two playoff runs in his first two seasons with one leading them to a Super Bowl you are really slow
😂 Agree that Brock should step up. But so does the O-line. Brock was sack 4 times. Hard to throw or run if the O-line is giving Brock time. Vikings might have found some a way for teams to beat Niners. Shift the defense so that Brock can't determine what the defense scheme is. Seems Kyle had no answer. This is a copy cat league. Instead of waiting for Kyle to dictate what is open. Defense is trying to confuse what Brock thinks is the defense is doing. Why isn't the Niners defense doing this? Brock just need to play his game, managing the offense. He's not Mahomes or Allen or Lawrence or etc. Play within himself. RB Mason was open, but Brock was looking down field. Brock needs to go to everyone. So defense must cover everyone. Brock can't concentrate on Deebo, Cmc, Kittle n BA. Williams is older too. Niners should have drafted a replacement they can groom. What happened to the DTs, thought run stuffing was upgraded. Is the D-Coordinator up to job. Best Vikings WR covered by a Safety? Niners got 3 strong safety types, instead of a free safety type. Kyle still isn't using rookies, except for Puni. Use Cowing, at least as decoy, his speed wiil scare defenses. Guerendo can be used as RB or TE/WR. He was a WR in college before switching to RB. Kyle scheme might have gotten old. Teams have seen to 5 yrs. Kyle need to add wrinkles. Need to exploit all the player's talent. Last yr, he failed to use Mason to give breaks to Cmc. Paying the price now? Was tired in SB. Now, hurt.
Brad also, purdy did get good pass yardage. Just he cannot hit non open receivers ( BA) couple of times from your past video. I mean whats a guy to do when running for his life. Just like Alex Smiths carrear. No offensive line.
Welp looks like Cam was right. Brock at this moment is a game manager. Steve is emphasizing he needs to be a game changer now. Without some of his weapons is this man still a great QB? I like this. I’d rather have the Niners go through these growing pains NOW than after they pay him.

@@jordanflores5687 his o line can hold up for a tradition drop back passing game which is what Kyle’s been calling, his guys aren’t fast enough to run their routes before Purdy is under pressure, he either needs better right tackle and center play or faster pure route runners, you know like Ricky pearsall or Brandon Ayuik with an offseason. Brock played a good game Sunday. There was no struggling, but the Vikings D took some things away which made it a bit more difficult to run the offense like we’re used to.
Can we unleash Jacob Cowing? 300 yards and he had a bad game?
***** Imagine This ***** Jerry Rice's unassailable records and .... Caitlin Clark being a Wide Receiver.
Mistakes and time of possession
The Super Bowl was not on Brock. CMC and Luter coat then 10 if not 14 points. Add in the biased officiating that refused to call holding on the KC offense ONE TIME, and it doesn't matter who's playing QB.
How dynamic was Tom Brady running the football? Did he run the RPO? I rest my case.
Don't forget about Dre Greenlaw going down. Kelce was crying because he couldn't get open until the 2nd half.
I can't stand the Niners & I'm pretty sure they would have lost considering they fumbled & bumbled their way through the entire game, but it is true that the Chiefs offensive line held worse than anything I've ever seen in a long time & simply did not get called for it.
@@TheAllAmericanSocialistMTR1000 Why u down on SF? Jealous because they are a good team? Who u like ? Dallas ? ha ha😮
@@markpolacek7840 you seem triggered by facts. Weird.
@@TheAllAmericanSocialistMTR1000 No I'm a niners fan for lots of years.
Steve is right. Brock needs to utilize Juice, Aiuk needs to catch up quick, and D needs to play takeaway.
This is a blessing in disguise, let's see how Brock handles this without safety nets...See if he's the real deal and worth the investment
I think the Vikings have found a way to neutralize the niners offensive scheme.
He showed up let's roll with him
P.S, Kyle should really really consider hiring Brian Flores as our DC 👀 would probably = SUPERBOWL WIN!!
Purdy completed 77.8 percent of his passes 28/36
Brock’s Number last week
28/36 attempts
77.8comp %
319 yd
101.3QBR
Everybody overlooked kelce erasing rice records in playoffs.
Jacob Cowing gonna be cenima next week
Feed jacob cowing!!!!
Kyle and the defense was more of a problem than purdy
They have other players that can make plays! Cowing, Bell, Juszchek, Kittle, Jennings, Mason, Aiyuk....
No RPO's. No Options.
Let Brock cook as he always has. Running QB's die early. Check the tape.
Will Shanahan let Purdy loose is the question...I like what Steve Young said, they need to let Purdy be the QB he was in the playoff games against the Packers and Lions, go off script a bit.
You people are not realizing that Brock has the highest passing yardage through the first 2 weeks.Chill out and left the offense catch up to the defenses.
negative Steve. He needs to get rid of the ball faster.
He still has 5 other elite players, but crazy that he can’t win if he’s missing just one or 2 players. Other teams win will way less talent
It wasn't a pretty bad loss. They got out played and still were within reach of winning the whole game.
it’s funny cuz we never said he was elite it was the haters nd media we jus started defending our qb that he still a great qb
Re Focus on Purdy:
I thought that after introducing relevant comments by Steve Young, you were going to differentiate your own view from the 49er mob of analyzers who fear drifting too far from the official line, which is that Purdy was the unexpected perfect pearl within the unpromising oyster of low draft picks. It shows year after year.
perspective....from Mr. Irrelevant to a 22-7 (playoffs included) record is beyond phenomenal
Could this be a chance for Cowing to step up with Deebo being out?
The Niners have always beat the Rams when they bullied them in the run game. And that’s what has happened to the Rams their first 2 games. So I don’t know if this is the game when they lean on Brock or throw a ton of
I don't mind if he runs sometimes, but he best slide feet first, or he will end up like Tua or Steve and have to retire early.
PROTECTION FOR MVPURDY
NINER STRONG 💪
They could franchise tag him.
Let him go???? R u serious ? I'm a die hard 9er fan for 30 + years,Brock is our guy and he deserves the bag ...go 9ers ..
@@Darrell-z5p brock purdy does not deserve 60 million lmao
T Williams did not look in shape. He looked bad blocking. OL looks really bad😮
He will never be like you Steve
What has lamars arm done when it really matters?
Now, hurt.
If we lose to the rams this season us over we cooked
Brad also, purdy did get good pass yardage. Just he cannot hit non open receivers ( BA) couple of times from your past video. I mean whats a guy to do when running for his life. Just like Alex Smiths carrear. No offensive line.
Brock head bonks arent good... period
Steve played for la Express usfl, then Tampa then came sniffing on Montana and got him traded.nice makeup too.doesnt belong in hof with his numbers
Hahaha, without mckaffery yawl are cooked…you can anylize & hope all ya want.
Welp looks like Cam was right. Brock at this moment is a game manager. Steve is emphasizing he needs to be a game changer now. Without some of his weapons is this man still a great QB? I like this. I’d rather have the Niners go through these growing pains NOW than after they pay him.
How did Steve do before he got with the Niners.?
Same can be said about other Qbs as well.
@@ToolNin49ersGuy interesting take from a guy that came off the bench and had 2 HOF wrs he played with. I guess it just me lol
What about Kurt warner. Same can be said for him.
@@HockeyDudeJames2 are they in the hof? Interesting
@@__187__7 Kurt's whole offense from the Rams is basically in the hof. He was awful in New York. Then saved by boldin and Larry in Arizona.
brock camped in the pocket to long. I felt there were PLENTY OF TIMEs where he needed to exit immediately.
@@miniharez the problem is most of those were under 2.5 seconds meaning pressured immediately and unfortunately by multiple guys, there were times he was bailing but then Trent lost his block and Brock would hit from behind.
I know it's only been 2 games but he doesn't look the same he's staring down receivers tryna squeeze really tight windows idk hope I'm overreacting but he never hits the check down some of this is on kyle he never runs play action he never calls screens from the running back position he'll wr screen all day but never a rb screen again I hope I'm overreacting
Kyle always runs play action, but you’re not gonna run play action when you’re down and there’s no chance of a run being called. That makes the play action useless
@@ninerempire3398 he didn't run 1 play action vs minnesota and you can't blame playing from behind because the game doesn't start down 13
@@jordanflores5687 I’d have to re-watch the game to verify that, it’s very doubtful that he didn’t call a single play action play. But running play action against that defense is a death wish too with all the exotic blitzing flores does
Why because CMC is hurt
@@jordanflores5687 his o line can hold up for a tradition drop back passing game which is what Kyle’s been calling, his guys aren’t fast enough to run their routes before Purdy is under pressure, he either needs better right tackle and center play or faster pure route runners, you know like Ricky pearsall or Brandon Ayuik with an offseason. I’m not sure where this notion came from that QBs are supposed to play great with hardly any difference makers. That works when you have a top 5 o line like Mahomes has had, we don’t have that.
It's time for Jennings to shine.
So Brock needs to do more of the things he’s not as good at! Sounds like a recipe for disaster! 49ers need a new scheme or a different QB then.
