- In this video, we go over the history of Suzuki Motorcycle company since its foundation in 1909. We cover a wide variety of motorcycles, including world famous GSX-R family, RM-Z series as well as the racing evolution of Suzuki company.
We start off by talking about the origins of Suzuki company. It started as a loom works company in Hamamatsu, Japan. It wasn't up until 1952 when Suzuki released its first proper motorcycle. "Power Free" model saw the world. It was the first motorcycle of the company. Then the company moved on and produced the Colleda series motorcycles, which became the turning point for the company as it concentrated its efforts on producing motorcycles. The series included Colleda COX, Colleda ST and Colleda Sel Twin. It also carried on into 60s, being reflected as motorcycle grand prix team name. Later it was renaimed to Suzuki factory team.

In 2000 Kenny Roberts jr. won the GP500 world title. It became the second title for Suzuki in GP500 era.
suzuki raider 150 is so popular in southeast asia..mini race bike with top speed of 150km/h( depending if all lstock or upgraded)
gsxr 400 makes quite possibly the best motorbike noise ever!! I now ride big v twins, but the noise that little 400 makes is orgasmic!!

It amazes me the amount of Harley owners that have said to me Japanese bikes have no heritage or soul Pffft what ever

Excellent video! Suzuki motorcycles are really amazing.....I'm a big fan of adventure line: V-Strom 650 and 1000!
Great video! but no mention of the drz400. Especially the S and SM models. I think one of the first factory supermotos.
+Mike Prestano I'm thinking of doing a separate videos on supermotos.
well, drz400 only has stickers upgrade every year. nothing else not even 6th gear or FI

I am big fan Suzuki engines..😍😍😍
Nice one! I already had 3 Suzuki GSXR1300R Hayabusa since 2001.. Greetings from Marbella, Southern Spain. President & Founder of the #hayabusaclubmarbella
Where do you live?
@@gregorykorvin What do you do for a living?
@@gregorykorvin Not only your one, but three Hayabusa have made me very curious about your profession and income especially.
I own a SUZUKI RAIDER R150 great bike performs well no problems since but man GSXR 1000 is a beast !
Not a single mention of the SV series? It was one of the most popular bike in the world...
You must have missed it. 6:50 to 7:15ish.
Pretty good video, wish my first bike, the GS1100G had been included, but then again, a lot of Suzies didn't make it in. DRZs and Vstroms have circumnavigated the globe, but somehow they're not historically significant enough to be included in the video.
Makes me proud to be in my second Suzuki! Keep making me proud Suzuki Motor Co! :')
They missed one of my favorite suzuki superbike the TL1000
I’m a hug Suzuki fan, I have their sc650 and would love to have a gsxr 750 someday!!
Today I bought my first NEW bike it's a 2021 DR 650 been wanting for a long time!
I have a Suzuki burgman 400cc 2013 One of the best bikes I Ever had😎 Harleys are overpriced!!
motorcycle is life Suzuki way of life!!
This is a long journey of Suzuki history
No mention of the most famous Suzukis of the 60s. The 1965 X6 Hustler and the 1968 500 / Five. I bought a 1968 X6 Hustler and a 1972 GT 750 Lemans new, great bikes. My friends rode a 1968 500 / Five and a 1966 150 cc Olympian.
I love Suzuki
Nice video
I love the GT series, my GT550 got stolen , but at least i still have my GT250.
Which year models?
Suzuki also made a good 2 stroke underbone model, rg series. Love suzuki
He did mention the SV series. He didn't mention the 2 cylinder 2 stroke bikes such as X6 hustler 250 or the T500 titan. HE also didn't talk about Suzuki's short time period of sending automobile's to the US. I have 3 Suzuki bikes! Love them.
Thank you for your comment. The primary reason I didn't mention those bikes was due to the time limit that I stick to. If I included every bike that viewers had suggested in the comments, the video would have gone well beyond 1-hour mark. I hope you understand.
Moto, thanks for mentioning that. The video was too compacted for my best comprehension and enjoyment but the content worthwhile. I was a mechanic and service manager for a Suzuki/Kawasaki shop just north of NYC and rode a TS250 to work most every day as well as campaigning one in the Berkshire Intl. Trials in 1971, getting s silver medal. The workmanship of Suzuki was always top notch, remarkable in their progress.
Do you think suzuki's workmanship to be better than honda's ???
Any evidence or stats claiming its superiority against the other 3 japan brands would be welcomed :)
you only showed footage of the 2nd generation hayabusa, when introducing the bike. you didnt have any footage of the millionth edition
Suzuki rotary - 1994
Suzuki katana 750cc - 1981
Suzuki rg 500cc - 1985

I like all motorcycle from suzuki japan...😊😊😊
But where motorcycle 2 stroke example suzuki tx-r 150cc 2 stroke from 1984-2005...???
I like suzuki tx-r 150cc 2 stroke because fast...😊😊😊

I love Suzuki bikes
Thank you Suzuki,Hamamatsu for my 650v-strom '17.
Good content! Keep it up! I subscribed!
Impressive
I actually own a RG 80 gamma, was interested if the 500 and 250 version would be mentioned here :D
all japanees brands are best awsome..we love that..as sri lankan...
Would be nice if was said here how Suzuki recovered from the war and the storm.
Amazing! 👍👍
and the fact that the k5-8 long stroke GSX-R was arguably the best motor ever.
subcribed ☺ thanks ! keep nice work !

your video is very good
new subscriber. great stuff. Thank you.
love suzuki
good job. well done for your research
Suzuki is best
Roger Decoster and Suzuki dominated motocross back in the day.
Not a word about Barry Sheene who won 2 world GP championships for Suzuki.
Where is pv
this video is very sports bike focused. no mention of the dr650? its been selling for decades basically unchanged. no mention of the rgv250, boulevard, v-strom, drz400, rm-z, gsr, bandit, gsx1400 and others....
What about motocross bikes? Cruisers? Dualsport legends of the 70s? I feel like a lot was missed.
Nice...
Top Suzuki
you could mention also that suzuki made for 28 years air-oiled coold engines.the peak and the last one bulid was 2008 gsx 1400
Ahem. A really juicy part to the Suzuki story was when they nearly went bankrupt in the early 1960's and resorted to:"1965 Suzuki clone.Degner defected from East Germany while leading the 1961 FIM 125cc World Road Racing Championship with only one race to go. Degner (with his wife and children) escaped from East Germany in the trunk of a car. Degner immediately signed a contract with Suzuki. According to sources, Degner arrived at the Suzuki factory in Hamamatsu, Japan, under the pseudonym of “Eugene Muller” taking with him some MZ parts (cylinder, piston, crankshaft and rotary-valve) plus some blueprints. Degner reportedly shared most of Kaaden’s ideas with Suzuki. This paved the way for the Japanese domination of small displacement motorcycle racing in the following decades. The most notable Kaaden-clone was the 1963 Suzuki RT63 road racer." (Note: this Kaaden was none other than the same key engineer en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Kaaden involved in the development of:en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henschel_Hs_293 The Henschel Hs 293 was a World War II German anti-ship guided missile)
Ernst Degner (2) on the Suzuki RT63.Also see: the Mat Oxley book: motomatters.com/review/2009/06/22/book_review_stealing_speed_by_mat_oxley.html
Awesome
Not a suzuki fan but id certainly get on an sv650
Lodi the legend
What happened to the 2000 gsx 750 naked bike?
what happened to the bandit series?
Not a very detailed presentation, No mention of Suzuki success in NHRA P/S Motorcycle either.
No mention of Barry Sheene or Matt Mladin? Endurance Racing?
Grafight23 They mentioned Matt.
I love Suzuki Txr150
The 2015 Suzuki you show at around 9:00 is a 2017 GSXR not a 2015. The smaller oval headlight is the giveaway.
Video is too focused on racing bikes. What about all the other models that people ride on the street.I've got a v-strom 650xt.
Suzuki is best ❤😍
Which country stared to made ??
the nearest i can be is with my suzuki raider R 150 hyper underbone from the southeast.

where is legendary raider 150?
So what about Suzuki's greatest racing achievement ever, the year that Suzuki became a house hold name around the world when the flamboyant Barry Sheene won the 500cc motorcycle world championship in 1976 and again in 1977.
I was looking for a comment about Barry Sheen, and here it is ;-)
Overlooked by the creator of this doc.
5.21mins You couldn't find a picture of a 1986 GSXR1100? Really?
I'm still waiting if the company to introduce 150cc semi auto like suzuki smash!
