    We bought a '99 Century with 76k miles nearly two years ago for $2.5k. 30,000 miles later, it still runs and rides great. Only two repair issues in that time, battery and water pump. Very happy with the vehicle. The car is quiet, smooth riding, adequate power at 24 MPG per tank of gas, requires no added oil between oil changes, low registration fees. I've found this car to be a steal for the price I paid.

    we have a 2000 buick centry custom. Beside all the minor things that need fixing. The engine and transmission are running strong. 110,000 miles and no issue. just change the oil, rotate tires, and drive.

      I have same year and model. Put about $1500 worth of replacement parts in it, but Key security system turned to trash. Guess its a serious problem with 1996-2000 GM cars. Have to do the reset every time I want to drive it. Will sell it for whatever I can get.

    yo, he described the stabilizer bar as being connected to the strut with dual ball joints even though that’s not what this model had.

    The 1982-1996 Centuries and the 1997-2005 Centuries look like a Chevrolet Caprice from far away. Sweet.

    Yesterday I bought an Immaculate 1997 Buick Century Limited. It's so perfect it could be sold as new on a Buick lot 25 years later. It's still so quiet, faster than my sunfire, and rides like a comfy couch. Biggest thing I Dislike is the lack of a tachometer. Like wtf... I'm installing sn aftermarket one.....

    • @42luke93
      @42luke93 Рік тому

      Its too bad they didn't put one. The regal had a tach and you can swap the gauges but then the mileage will be off and also the MPG feature wont work on Century models.

    Buick got their money's worth out of this model... same car through 04 basically... Regal too I have a 99.. cheap drink holder and no trunk button...but ok car with good ride and fuel economy.. My day time running lights aren't working....."Your lights!"...... I wish they had put in stainless steel brake lines...

      Amazing vehicles Buicks have always ran outstanding for my family members and I. My brothers got me into buicks and it's always been my go to car for dependability and cheap parts if some needed to be repaired.

    Had this car, window regulators needed replacing, brake lines rusted out, and eventually the head gasket gave out and killed the engine. Great when it was running and somewhat cheap to own but after 4 years it was on the scrap yard.

    the most common problems with the century are rusted rocker panels, intake manifold gaskets failing, dexkill coolant, and blown head gaskets.

    • @jamesdean1598
      @jamesdean1598 3 роки тому

      The intake gaskets were a cheap cork rubber design. GM didn’t want to admit fault so they blamed the new at the time Dex Cool. Blown head gaskets are rare on the 3.1 What blows them is owners overheating the engine. I own two Buick century’s and they are the best vehicles I’ve owned.

    I have Christmas tree clips on my 96 Roadmaster. The previous owner didn't take them off with a tool. Instead he just yanked the door off breaking the door panel itself. Although the clips can be handy I prefer screws.

    rode about like the last de ville i drove, over the lumpy bumpy stuff. wavy curvy roads and this car didn't get along, however.

    This model Century was the finest car Buick built with all the latest automotive technology. It was better than anything on the road. It would remain that way until the '98 Century came out.
