Without the subtitles, I could barely understand anything. Antony speaks really fast and inarticulately. I love these videos anyway because I can learn authentic phrases and train my listening comprehension, so thank you
+dancing loulou Still, I'd agree that in French the problem is compounded. For example I come from Poland and the difference between spoken everyday Polish and very correct Polish is minuscule at best, unless we talk about a really uneducated person. Out of the languages I know something of (Polish, English, German, French), French has the most differences between casual everyday and official careful speech.
A lot of articulation (as any language) depends on the education and personality of the person speaking. We all know that good articulation should be practiced but depending on our mood and emotions at the time, our articulation is affected.
Continue to listen this for 3x. Then you will remember. I was too like you I understood anything. I am now like you with English 😁 I don't understand while listening
To anyone who is learning french like me: It helps A LOT, to listen very attentively to their words and accents while looking at the english subtitles so that you will pick up words and interpret and understand what they're saying in your head.
geet Kaur But learning French isn't always about understanding what they're saying, it's about listening to the natural tone and speed of a French speaking person and adapting to that. I don't always know what they're saying but I get the jist of it. And that's okay. But I completely understand why you're saying.
Antony, bonjour from Flint, Michigan. I've been through all the Easy French episodes and now I'm going through all of them again. These are so helpful. Merci beaucoup.
I feel like, with these videos, I'm suddenly learning a whole different language to the one I heard consistently represented in the dozen or so books I had while learning "French."
subjects are dropped, Bs become Ps or even Ms, Vs become Fs or Ps, Us become Ws, diphongs become monothongs, "ne" and "pas" come and go when they like - separately or together - and you can forget about "ce" "me" "se" "que" having their own syllables - from now on they're just tagging along at the end of other ones.
This is the way i want to learn languages. Videos with subtitles and translation :). Sorry I am not enough confident to write it in french. Or..

These vids are NOT for beginners, guys. As a language teacher, I'd say you'd have to be at least A2 level (lower pre-intermediate) to use these videos. Unless you're a language genius and can already speak 5 other languages which is not normally the case)))
Montin Yek LOL that's the exact point I made. You already speak many languages, so you are able to guess many words and know how the language learning process works. For total beginners who do not speak other languages (maybe just English), this would be too difficult.
+HyoSeok Kim Hello! to answer your question: yes, the meaning of that word is to win, but in that context, that expression means the feeling of being overtaken by the mountain, because they're old people... I hope I could help you...
Not at all! If you study everyday for *at least* 30 minutes-1 hour for 6 months (watch authentic videos by francophones, read numerous articles, listen to french songs, etc) you will be able to communicate with people at a debutante level if not intermediate. If you *do not* have any type of motivation, inspiration, or wants for learning French then of course it's going to be rather difficult. But it wouldn't take years.
Bidhan A Check out www.francaisauthentique.com ! My level of french has greatly improved because of the creator of that site. Start off with his free course "Les 7 règles de français authentique" Bon courage ! :D
"même si ça commence à dépérir niveau jeunesse." → "even though it is starting to weaken." ??????? "C'est quelque chose que j'ai pas pu voir ailleurs." → "This is something I've not seen elsewhere." ❤
Thank you for the Videos, but you speak way to fast and mumbling. And by doing that you pass this way of speaking to the people you interview and so they begin to speak fast as well. Why are you guys so much in a hurry? I'd rather watch a 3 minutes longer video that i can follow well. 0.5 speed option isnt an option because it sound awful.
I don't know if you'll find this useful but by clicking the cog you can slow the video down and make them talk at half the speed. It does mess with the sound so maybe defeats the purpose. I don't know.
If you want, you may slow down the speed of the video. Hover your mouse in the center of the playing video and click on the Settings icon, which resembles a gear. In the menu, scroll to find Playback speed and click it. UA-cam gives you eight options for playback speed. :)

You can set the speed to 0.75 or 0.5 to make it easier to follow. At 0.5 everyone sounds drunk, though
inacurately? you said It yourself DUM DUM, he is the native speaker, you are the one who can't even speak proper English
Continue to listen this for 3x. Then you will remember. I was too like you I understood anything. I am now like you with English 😁 I don't understand while listening

It helps A LOT, to listen very attentively to their words and accents while looking at the english subtitles so that you will pick up words and interpret and understand what they're saying in your head.
Inayah Cee I really wish, they could play the videos at slower speeds coz most of us here are here to learn french.
geet Kaur But learning French isn't always about understanding what they're saying, it's about listening to the natural tone and speed of a French speaking person and adapting to that. I don't always know what they're saying but I get the jist of it. And that's okay. But I completely understand why you're saying.
youtube has a setting where you can play them at slower speeds in the lower right corner of the screen. It's very useful.
Antony, bonjour from Flint, Michigan. I've been through all the Easy French episodes and now I'm going through all of them again. These are so helpful. Merci beaucoup.
I felt very tough with this episode, very fast and deep French words
Are you fluent yet?
Merci, Anthony!

Instead of listening to songs while doing french work, I listen to this like 2 hours a week to improve my french accent and french.
"can we be friends?" said +lonely girl
To improve your french accent I recommend you to learn the phonetical songs of the language, you gonna read the words with the right sound.
where?
00:30 "sesri pu saor" = "ce serait pour savoir," the same as the opening of episode 2
0:44 is the best
yaaaa!!! thanx for uploading another easy french video! i really appreciate it! :D
J'envie d'habiter a paris. quelle formidable a ville

Great!!!
Excellent! I love these videos! :)
I'm glad you like it. =))
Bravo Anthony :D

what is the meaning of word "conscrite " in the sense it was used in this video (3:10)
Love how they're on the third video and already like "Does it inject some dynamic energy into the village?"
i think they speak way too fast for beginners
These vids are NOT for beginners, guys. As a language teacher, I'd say you'd have to be at least A2 level (lower pre-intermediate) to use these videos. Unless you're a language genius and can already speak 5 other languages which is not normally the case)))
+Lula Mae incidentally, i already speak 6 languages and i have barely studied French, but these videos are not too difficult for me.
Montin Yek LOL that's the exact point I made. You already speak many languages, so you are able to guess many words and know how the language learning process works. For total beginners who do not speak other languages (maybe just English), this would be too difficult.
Lula Mae yes, that's true.
I don't understanding 0:35, the meaning of gagne there. I thought the meaning of that word was to 'win'.
+HyoSeok Kim Hello! to answer your question: yes, the meaning of that word is to win, but in that context, that expression means the feeling of being overtaken by the mountain, because they're old people... I hope I could help you...
'nous gagne' here means something like 'we win from it!' , translating to 'it's good for us'
Correct. I didn't even remember this... Random Quoter thanks :)
actually the whole phrase is "ca nous gagne" which can be translated literally as "it wins us"
je l'aimais! :-) super!
Hey, I have a question, ça bouge beaucoup, isn't that a phrase for saying "there's a lot going on" like the german "es ist viel los"?
yes
Thanks ^^
cool videos
Keep pressing 0:45
4:47
dès-des ?
Wow! Way more difficult than german, and I'm brazilian.
no way!!
More easy french SVP:)
;
You'll have some new ones pretty soon ! :)
That vieil homme really aime beaucoup la pluie.
Thank you for the video. What exactly is "ça commence à dépérir niveau jeunesse"?
I couldn't get it too. Maybe the population of young people is decreasing?
How much practice will it take for a complete beginner to talk in French like the people in the video? I'm guessing years.
Not at all! If you study everyday for *at least* 30 minutes-1 hour for 6 months (watch authentic videos by francophones, read numerous articles, listen to french songs, etc) you will be able to communicate with people at a debutante level if not intermediate. Wow thanks for the motivation. I'm really excited to learn French!!!
Bidhan A Check out www.francaisauthentique.com ! My level of french has greatly improved because of the creator of that site. Start off with his free course "Les 7 règles de français authentique"
Bon courage ! :D
So.. did you learn?
I turn the speed to .75 and it's much easier to understand!
I started learning French 8 months ago but i don'tspeak French well. How can i find a personne who knows French to help me practice on Skype?
2:05 "les gens" = "les gours"
01:51 01:56 okay so "pour" can become "four," almost like English
One thing I would say I that it would be good if we could remove the subtitles. Otherwise, awesome content!
"même si ça commence à dépérir niveau jeunesse." → "even though it is starting to weaken." ??????? "C'est quelque chose que j'ai pas pu voir ailleurs." → "This is something I've not seen elsewhere." ❤
il y a de quoi faire ?? .... how could this statement be translated grammatically ?
il y a de quoi faire = il y a des choses à faire
il y a = there is
de quoi = what
faire = to do
*weather

Bonjour gens amicaux que sont les américains
WHY IS FRENCH SO HARD
Bse you haven't had enough time to learn it
I don't know if you'll find this useful but by clicking the cog you can slow the video down and make them talk at half the speed. It does mess with the sound so maybe defeats the purpose. I don't know.
merci beaucoup pour les vidéos
The way old people talk is odd
Speaking french and listen what the speak about its not easy... :-/
Very bad..to fast. Look up easy german that you can take as a model ;) good luck. But nice videos..
