The third Weezer cruise will be plinkerton themed, all guests will be forced to stay in their rooms. Music will played from a distance to simulate a house party you’re not invited to.
The idea of a bunch of hardcore Weezer fans trapped together on a boat sailing towards an island off the coast of Mexico sounds like it would be an absolute unmitigated nightmare but it looks like things turned out well
I feel like a "Weezercon" would be a logical step. More affordable, bring in people from across the country for a day or two, fan panels +artwork+ engagement. I'm not saying it'd ever happen, just that it would make sense
im so accustomed to disaster stories on boats i was waiting for you to talk about the ship hitting something or an engine exploding and how weezer were lost to the sea
"You don't even focus on the human being at all, it's like he's not there. It's like Kermit is real. That was surprising to all of us." That is a transcendental quote. I feel like my life has been instantly improved for hearing it.
I mean I personally love the unwritten social contract that everyone just treats the Muppets like real flesh and blood celebrities instead of puppets. It's pretty great
Many famous people have noted the same thing. Talking to Kermit or Piggy on a talk show is like talking to any other celebrity to guest and host alike. The Johnny Carson episode with Jim Henson and Kermit is a great illustration of this.
I read an article about the second cruise to Bahamas and instead of mustache night on day four the theme was "superheroes " People also had the chance to submit questions and, some of the things they discovered were" Rivers plans to keep playing in the band until he's 60".
I'm here just imagining the cruise, the sunset and Weezer playing the Blue album, just another dream I'm not going to realize in my life. Well, it's what it's.
I was on the first Weezer cruise. It was really fun. It's the only cruise I've ever been on. We didn't watch a safety video. We, like, mustered in the place we would meet up if there was a disaster. Brian Bell was in my muster group. All of the stuff was really fun, but I think I enjoyed watching the Doug Loves Movies podcast the most out of all the Non-Weezer shows I went to.
The crossover between Weezer, Better Call Saul, and an end gag with Gus taking the role of The Nostalgia Critic truly cements my love for this channel.
I was on that cruise and it was amazing. I like weezer and I enjoyed seeing them play, but I was mostly there for Dinosaur Jr and Sebadoh. During one of their performances, Lou Barlow mentioned that this was the first time that those two bands played together on the same bill. The rest of the lineup was amazing as well: The Antlers, Yuck, Wavves, Free Energy were all amazing! What I loved most is that it was basically a music festival where you could come and go as you pleased. Plus! No Porto-potties! The second weezer cruise had a much smaller lineup than the first, so we skipped it. We did however go to the Coachella cruise a few years later, which was also amazing.
I was expecting this to be a complete disaster with all sorts of problems on board that no one could escape from, but it seemed to go disappointingly well! I like your presentation style Marc, keep it up!
I would have loved to be there. I really like it when I read this that Cuomo wrote “Once we locked in all these great artists I started to feel Weezer is real lucky to be able to go on this cruise."
Personally, I loved Ozma, and one of the other bands they were associated with, Straylight Run, in particular because when I first saw Straylight I'd never heard them (playing with Ozma). Michelle was kind enough to stop and talk with me like I was their oldest fan, and I still treasure that memory. Recently, I went on the Coheed and Cambria cruise, SS Neverender. It reminds me a bit of this, it was just... an experience. Equal parts concert, cruise, tattoo convention, and a reunion for a thousand people who'd never met before.
I went to both of these, one of the best times of my life. I still keep up with some of the people I met there all these years later. Ozma was really something on those cruises too, I think they were the only band (other than weezer) that were on both cruises.
I imagine the boat getting damaged somehow, and Weezer, the other bands, and all the fans and passengers having to go into the water. And then the SHARKS show up. And I imagine that during the course of their water excursion, someone starts singing 'fare well, and adieu to fair spanish ladies...'
Can’t believe it either. I would have liked to see sebadoh and to some extent dinosaur jr, but not to go on a cruise for. But if Gene Ween was gonna be there. For sure.
Being on a cruise with Weezer, I wouldn't even worry about being sea-sick, and believe me I hate that, but If there is another cruise I will surely be there.
It hurts my heart that I doubt I'll ever be able to attend something like this, being about 13,000km away in New Zealand. If I had the opportunity, I'd be there in a heartbeat. Heeeaaaaart beeeeeeaaat heeeaaaart beeeeeaaat.....
I really enjoy cruises, but if my favorite rock band is going to be there as well, that's priceless. Without a doubt, I would sign up for a cruise like that.
You got the LIKE because of your dedication to the flow, but you go the SUBSCRIBE because of the "complicated" bit lol. A hearty laugh in a strangers home. Nice video!
that first cruise with them playing blue and pinkerton back to back, including the deep cuts, and even ozma being there like fuck, i never heard of any of these other bands but i would have killed just to have been there for weez and ozma

I don't care much about the supporting acts either but Gene Ween was on this cruise ship and he is nothing short of a genius and one half of the genius that is Ween (back when they were split up I believe)
@@wrenchpilot I was wondering why he was on the poster but not mentioned in the video at all. That sucks, but at the same time, getting booked on a Weezer cruise and then not showing up almost sounds like something Gene Ween would do on purpose lol.
A cruise to Cozumel with Weezer!! I think they should do it again, even though if they decide the same place and the same type of vacation, if so, I will be there!
hey, there actually is evidence of someone proposing during the photoshoot! its in one of the weezer webisodes, which one i forget. but it should be in one of the cruise related ones.
Great video! Not a huge fan of weezer but man if some of my favorite bands put on a cruise or a vacation like this I'd be super tempted to drop some serious coin on it.
11:00 i would have suggested Mexico for the destination, and for “what do you want to do” i would have suggested a Weezer concert where each band member is standing atop a different pyramid in the ancient city of Teotihuacan
J Mascis for president. He is top notch, especially at not becoming a Celebrity. Totally genuine. I like how introverted he is. He inspires me to be myself. More intoverted than my fake self. And the sound kicks your ass. And Dinosaur Jr's music videos are really good and funny!

The third one should be Green Album themed, they leave the port and sail back in under half an hour.
