@@kathleensalazar5222 Talk Talk actually got played on MTV here in the USA, Chameleons were basically ignored for their brief lifespan if you were not of a certain age. But Talk Talk was all over MTV. Can't blame people for not hearing music if it was never played. It isn't the UK, with the music weeklies pushing music out there and stuff surrounding you. Its a fucking huge country. Lots of us living in middle America didn't hear this stuff until much later.

Always under the radar and always so much better than most of the bands of the 80s. They always put a smile on my face and Mark is still a very nice bloke. Had the chance many times to chat with him and it was always a pleasure. Cheers!
Saw them yesterday in Frankfurt. Saw Mark outside, got a pen, he Signed my shirt. Was very happy. It Was CRAZY that such a good band, so revered by many, is so down to earth. Honestly, while they ripped the place to shreds it was like they played it for YOU. So honest, so real. Theyre an Illusion, like other optical Illusions

Spent a grand on travelling to Manchester to see them play two nights back to back in December. Built a 4 days stay around it including a music tour to see the places associated with The Smiths, Joy Division, Oasis and Stone Roses. Going to be the best trip of my life. I hope you get to Manchester to see them sometime; hometown gigs are always more epic. We are all Chameleons. 🖤

Met Mark outside the small venue before the show. He was just hanging by the door where the bands enter. He was alone so I approached him.. Spoke for about 10 min with him. Supercool dude, down to earth.
The song Soul In Isolation is fantastic…! And then bits of The Doors, David Bowie and The Beatles integrated in this live version… 😉😊 For those who do not know:Mark Burgess was inspired by thebook The Star Rover (by R. L. Stevenson) when writing “Soul In Isolation”. It is a good book, it is an even better song… 👍😊

For me still the best band rock ever produced in 80´s. We don´t know what/why they aren´t famous, but I guess Mark Burgess is a very humble guy. U2 and The Cure jump to mainstream. In between something gone wrong.
Yeah The people who.played on every Chameleons record were not this band. The Chameleons were Mark,Dave,Reg and John in no particular order. They even used a picture with me and John on the poster advert and I wasn't in the band and John had passed away. Even the promoter didn't know. Then again. If it makes you happy. Fair enough. I live in Edinburgh and some form of the band has played here a few times over the years . A good Friend Artist Gavin Bonnar (Chameleon design ) had Mark staying with him a few times when up here gigging . we were all a bunch of stoners

Can anyone tell me if they are the headlining band and what time they'll probably go on? The gigs listed here in Texas have 3 bands and the other two, IMO, are dismal and I'd like to minimize time standing outside the venue waiting for them to go onstage and better time my city to city travel. They are a great band and I bought their vinyl when it was released in the early 80s and saw the Bunnymen, U2, Go-Gos, Furs, etc. in small downtown clubs where they are scheduled to play.

I was thinking the same thing. Though, sounds like it's just for a few songs. It would be really awesome if they could still play the vast majority of their early songs at their original tunings. Played at standard tuning, they sound fine but, they lose those unique harmonics they only got by tuning insanely high, like they did early on.

@@seantighe3077 No problem mate so long as you enjoyed the gig. Mark cancelled the UK gigs and went USA with a you g lad playing my parts that I wrote and played. Reg didn't go. Reg is now not doing the future USA shows supporting the Mission and Spear of Destiny. J have no Interest in the Chameleons especially Burgess but if you enjoy going to the gigs which isn't and never will be the Chameleons fair play . I don't have any problems with that. Just to add I've never recieved any performance royalties from the band even though every time they play I am supposed to get payed as a quarter song writer of the Fab4.
