Looks great, but don't like the path of non-replaceable batteries NiteCore are taking - just more e-waste when batteries die. Will buy something else. (It will be illegal in the EU from 2027 when user replaceable batteries will be mandatory.)
I work as a railroad engineer. This would be great for inspecting my locomotives, in lantern mode.
Also would be good for lighting up a cab, or controls when the overhead is out.
My conductor would love it for returning to a dark pick up at night.
Also good for signaling a van for yard pick up.😉😊
Seriously great products. been binge watching your explanation and everything makes so much sense when you put it into perspectives. I'm part of a production team and lanterns would be so useful in lighting up the work spaces. Been using a TIPSE on a cap to do that. but a lantern would make much more sense!
Another innovative lighting tool from nitecore. A 360° lighting is a great addition to anyone who works and need a professional illumination tool. Unlike other lanterns out there this lantern-flashlight is a great tool. Ordinary flashlight just do one thing illuminate a spot. Some of them tail stand but their beam is focused upwards. You need a separate diffuser means you need to carry an accessories which is clumbersome. In building maintenance where I work now there are many nooks and cranies that not reached by the building's lighting system. This can come in handy as you can set it in any flat surface and instantly get a 360° lighting. No more eye strain because most flashlight have unbalanced hotspot and spill which is so weak your eye gets easily tired. Flood light or lantern type lighting provides a soft white and balanced light perfect for almost any indoor or even outdoor applicationm
Would be great when camping with the kids. The lanterns we have don't really cut it, but the LR70 would be an awesome addition to the camping kit.
Great Video! The only issue with the Nitcore LR70 is the light defuisser being "Glued" in place. This makes the battery not easy to replace if it fails.
For me, that is a deal breaker. You might talk with the folks in charge of the design and make the battery user-replaceable.
Yeah that whole going green is out the window for alot of company's now. Just built to sht the bed now
Same. This would have been an instant buy if the batteries were user-replaceable and I don't even need a lantern/flashlight. This would make an excellent emergency item and its longevity as a PD battery pack would be ensured with the replaceable batteries as well. It is still a fantastic item but right now it's a consumable that I want. Replaceable batteries would make it a TOOL than I NEED.
Good reason to block your channel
yea same to me i will still buy lr 60 not this lr 70
Interesting one, useful in many situation. It would be nice if the black edge were magnetic to stick it when there is no possibility to hang it...
That would really be handy here in South Africa with our loadshedding (power utility shutting down power due to insufficient generation). I would so much love to buy one but at the current exchange rate, makes it nearly impossible...
Heck yeah! This would've come in handy last night at work. I work with the railroad and use the lanterns they give us which are fine but big and definitely not packable. This can easily fit in my safety vest pocket. Thanks for the review and demo.
It would be far better with glow in the dark paint/photoluminescent with a timed blink to charge the photoluminescence then switch off this would increase the torch probably 4 days in complete dark like a cave. Now thats a winner and game changer for me.
Good thing I don't buy things that are first of their kind. Can't wait to see how this gets a 2x improvement in the next release.
magnet, glow in the dark and removable battery would be nice, considering how the new molicel P45B obliterates everything else and they're definitely not using that.
Big disappointment for me is the cells are build-in...and one reason I'm thinking twice about buying this
Imagine the cells being so close to the emitters and the heat build-up that it's constable being exposed to. Heat will kill the batteries' life span super quick, and once the cells are dead or half dead, it will be gone
@@allisonren3260and possibly the option to only use 1 of the 3 sides at a time.
@@22plepte.ltd.96 Can't you brute force it and open it up? Expensive experiment but it could be done
@@22plepte.ltd.96Then just buy another set of batteries and replace them.
I was just going to order this fantastic light until I realized you can't replace the batteries. I learned early on as a "flashaholic" never purchase a light that doesn't have replaceable batteries. If this light becomes user replaceable batteries, I'll be the first on line to purchase.
Non removable battery kinda cons for me but the 10h runtime kinda interest me. Good for sar and patrol around camping site.
I would use it for my granddaughter as a night light for her room. She could use for when she needs a soft light at night or a brighter light in case the power goes out. 😊
Never had a lantern for once in my life so I'll use this in my house while i work at night and in my car when I'm finding lost items at night. Lantern would definitely change my perception of mobile lightings
Non-removable battery is definitely a delabreaker. Otherwise has nice set of features.
I'm new to flashlights, just wanted one I could use for some light camping, around the house etc. You are certainly right in that this is impossible to beat in the current market. There is absolutely nothing that comes close to the 10k MaH battery and the lantern combo as well as the warm light.
The constant on red light - which this has, is something that is CRUCIAL too. Many lanterns/flashlights and combo devices ignore this or don't have it at all, OR only have it at a very low setting, which is very strange to me. Any device that is meant to be used at night needs a red light mode (NOT a mode with a red filter but actual red LED because that does matter). It's not just about astrophotography, or bugs but red light is best for night time viewing, red lighting ensures best viewing in the dark (deep red light ensure the chemical required for rods to work rhodopsin do not break down, with other wavelengths they are higher energy so tend to break down rhodopsin - thus poorer night vision, this is why military, army, navy etc use red light during night) AND it does not trigger cones as much as well as not triggering our circadian rhythm. The 2lumen and 10lumen for the red lights SOUNDED very low but once my initial testing, at least to my eyes, even the 2lumen when hung high enough illumanates quite a large area and the 10lumen definitely seems MORE than good enough for a whole group to eat dinner under. Blue light "wakes you up", red light does not. There are two improvements i would ask of a next version of this though, both have to do with being more environmentally friendly
1. Swappable batteries.
2. using non plastic materials - this one is part about the environment but also about more study materials. Perhaps a "pro" version that is more expensive but uses metal and glass instead of plastic? (the design may have to change a bit with glass).
I've been on a journey of self-discovery and I believe this lantern will help me finally achieve the ultimate goal of "enLIGHTenment" 😊
Excellent review and presentation. I do not have a need for such a light, but it is so good, I think I will get one anyway! Thank you sir!
My daughter and I go camping every 3 months and this would have great use for us.
It's ideal for camping trips, hiking, or any outdoor activities where i need portable lighting. The power bank feature is useful for charging your devices on the go. Overall, it's a convenient and multifunctional tool for staying prepared in different outdoor scenarios.
Great video...as always. I would love to have at least one of these to use at work on my job as a nightwatchman. I am currently using the Nitecore EDC27 (bought at your recommendation) and it is doing a wonderful job but I think that the LR70 would be more versatile in my use case. Thanks.
I will only need to bring 1 flashlight without any powerbank to charge for my short camping trip, able to reduce my bag weight and lesser things to charge after that.
Another great innovation from Nitecore. I'm praying to have that lantern since we always experience blackouts like every hour every day and it sucks in the dark! I hope I can have one so no more darkness. Cheers!
This gonna be useful in my daily technical jobs. Praying for a free one. Keep up the insightful video content on your products.
I have the LR 60 and it is a good lantern, but I find myself not using it that much because I have to carry two lights in order to have a flashlight at a distance. This is a great upgrade. I would love to win it
One drawback is the battery is no longer user replaceable
I will use on my boat for emergency lantern especially when i go night sailing
Would love to have this for my dad cause he's suffering from (nyctalopia) night blindness cause of his Cataracts. He's going for operation soon... But cause our house is small, he's sleeping with our son in the living room... so at night, he will turn on all the lights and our son will keep waking up... If he doesn't, he will trip onto things and fall or make a lot of noise... I believe it's easier the size and ease of use will help him very much at night especially cause kids and babies are less prone to being disturbed by it, less likely for their circadian rhythm to be affected.
Would love to use a couple of these when camping with the family!
Thank you for the video I just came across your channel. That’s a very cool light but I about fell out of the chair when I saw it was $111 I was expecting it might be $15 maybe $20 at the most. $111 is absolutely crazy but maybe I’m justnot familiar with the market of these things. I can’t imagine why that would cost $111. LEDs are very cheap batteries are not that much. Thank you again.
There’s no $20 light that can do what this does for sure. You get what you pay for 👍
... Can't replace batteries though 🥴
Thanks for the review
Just got one and it's awesome
Lots of choices... Going to have to look at reviews for each of these to see what one would work best for me. But I would use this in combination with my candle lantern or if I'm going car camping, I could take this and still have my oil lamp... I like oil lamps and can't throw lanterns in the cold weather only... But I could use one of these in the summer.. Possibly add the smaller one to my EDC sling... choices choices😂.. Thanks for your time and the video as always man 😎✌️
From walking the dog on a dark trail at night. This would be my number one use for this lantern where I live there can be some dark trails witl critters, coyotes and pitfalls. This lantern
will help anyone who lives in rural areas and needs to take the pup for walk at night
So who's the lucky winner? 😂
ill use this for camping or repairing my car or my motorcycle...
I would use it hiking and BDR riding with my son before he leaves for the Army
Looks like a a great addition for camping.
This is such a great idea. I usually use one of my Nitecore flashlights by pointing it up to the ceiling to illuminate the area, but outside, your need to resort to point at a specific subject.
How will the heat from the lantern affect the performance & longevity of the lithium batteries?
Awesome product from nitecore yet again!! Really hoping to win this lantern as in my industry I'm require to visit small confined spaces and canal similar to what you shown in your video. These area have low to zero visibility and we often rely on torch light to inspect the area and carry out our work. With this 3in1 lantern it will definitely reduce to load we need to carry when we go out in the field!
I'd use it for a night light when changing my newborn and also to walk my dogs at night
I would use this lantern with my Search and Rescue team.
I have bought the LR50 and 60 and now I guess I will have to buy this one too given the massive improvements. Very happy with the nitecore lanterns.
Is lr 60 good
My go-to Nitecore reviewer!
i think it's ideal for camping in the van 😀
I was like a child looking at a toy shop when I saw this channel. good job guys.
6:16 what light is under your middle finger in this shot?
batteries can not be changed😔😔
Phone batteries can’t be changed too, it’s always a debate on which side is better. This boils down to preference really
@@NitecoreSG about lantern lights, maybe you know fenix cl26r pro and sofirn lt1s, these lights are really good lantern lights
That'd be the perfect camping light! Can light a path, fill a space and or recharge the phone! Fingers crossed I win...
This light would be amazing when I take wildlife pictures. When flashlight function is perfect for navigating to my hide. The lantern function is perfect for using in the hide while I set up my equipment. And the Power bank is really usefull if I need to charge my phone or some accessories while being in the hide. I love that you also made it QC compatible. Great work!!
As a night photographer, this flashlight is very useful for my needs.
Almost perfect. 如果可以當做電池充電器就好了。
Great fan of nitecore products…very reliable and essential. I got few nitcore collections …this New LR 70 looks very usable and multifunctional..it would be good with my adventure hike and camping.. I could get rid of few other travel accessories with this product.. well done..
Yo! Great channel man. Thanks!
Useful improvements that this light could and should have...
1. Removable cells so you can swap them out for better/higher capacity lithium cells, or when the original ones are dead
2. The ability to shut off one side of the lantern so the lights will not shine directly into your eyes when you have them lantern placed at eye level, as well as extending the overall run time
3. A magnet base?
4. A flickering candle mode will be superb to add mood to a room (personal preference)
5. Variable temperature LED...often time warmer lights (2700K) are preferable to the cooler ones. That said, High CRI 4000K is a good compromise
All in all, this is a great concept in a well designed light package...but already i can see their next iteration will be so much better 😊
I'll comment, though I never win. I mean anything.... I'd use this for camping.
Hey we just experienced a 6.8 magnitude earthquake and we lost electricity for almost 24 hours, Can you suggest any flashlights for disaster? something like light powerful and has a long battery life? thankyou.
This light looks amazing but 70 dollars is too much for me. I'm disabled and I spend most of my time in a 150 square foot room. I live in Maine and my power goes out often. This would light the whole room. Great explanation of the lantern. Thanks.
I don't really like 360° lanterns, as it throws some light in my eyes, reducing my nightvision.
It would require to hang this in a reasonably elevated place to reduce this effect.
O prefer cob leds in just one side.
I have this LR70 and the LR40
LR70 is quite heavy, and the one thing that I don't like is the warm white color instead of just white color
I have the LR40 Latern. And it has not the constant redlight Mode?!?!? Just blinking. So a waste.
Is the quality good on the switches. I bought the edc 27 3k lumen flat light from nitcore and the switch is jacked after about a month. Let my son use it and he is 12. I don't think he was hard on it either. But all the olights I've had I can let anyone use them and not worry about it cuz it won't mess up no matter what
. Love the idea of the nitecore and run time. Poor turbo runtime though
It appears to be a Swiss army knife of a light source.....Really nice. Now make it cheaper....
No more hussle at night while camping... versatile for campers and hikers...
This would be exceptionally useful when i use the forest facing kampung toilet at my grandparents house in Malaysia. At least can see where my 💩 drop to. 😂
This will be my next choice, I just got an LA10
Follow through for announcing the giveaway FAILED!
I'm a service plumber and I would use it for lighting up under cabinets and also when I'm looking in walls for leaks
Would use it camping or when working in dark areas when i need both of my hands
u mentioned ARS motion sensor light?..izzit correct?
This is my first time about this.
Hope you enlighten me and choose me to have that item☺️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
EDC torch which doubles as a camping or night fishing lantern. possibilites are endless
Looks like my old Biolite powerlight, except 10x brighter
Camping in the White Mountains, New Hampshire, will be perfect to use this for.
This light would be awesome for when there are powercuts and my family needs to read/study!
Nice video, I would use it camping in the forest.
The non replaceable battery was a deal breaker for me. I almost ordered it, thanks for the review 👍🏻
I’d send it to my family’s country so they could use it cause of how dark it’s over there and the lack of light
I live in Hurricane Central, a lantern like that would help when the power is down for days.
Id used something like that for edc, working on projects at night and walking the dog in the woods nice light
very cool, bit expensive but I can see why.
No IP67/IP68 rating is a deal breaker for me, especially at that ridiculous price.
its not about higer lumens only.. but more to longer runtime..thats will be more use for this lantern or whatever..
If it can’t crush skulls don’t buy it. Flash, bash, dash.
This would be great for camping
Всегда когда я смотрю этого парня мне хочется купить очередной Nitecore.
What is the small face square light clipped on the bag? 6:04
Sofirn IF23 laughing in the corner for $30 😄
I was hoping the red-light would be brighter but maybe on yhe next one
This seem like a great light, first time seeing it. Then I went back to watch the review on the lr60 and now i cant make up ky mind hahahha. About $20ish different, which one should i buy? (If you have the lr60) thanks
The LR60 is quite fragile when you drop it, the cover tends to split breaks over time.
you have lost weight recently, earlier was better.
Very useful
This product appears to be of poor quality, as I have experienced two consecutive failures. I would advise against trusting the individual promoting this product, as they may have a vested interest in its sales.
What happened to cause the failure? I used it personally and it has worked great. What did you do with it after it failed twice?
Suitable for blackout emergency
I would use it at the beach for romantic nights
This is very nice would love to use it during camping with the family doing stuff outside and during power outages this would be very useful also to have in the car in case od emergency very versatile light...❤
Yep. I'm purchasing this multi purpose lantern as my first ever flashlight. Personally, i do not have the financial means to buy several flashlights, so i'll have to make a sensible purchase and thus, a multi purpose lantern is the most bang for the buck.
Urgh. I'll just have to get some courage and will buy it in a few minutes, or half an hour π-π
But that power bank capability is just awesome. You can always charge it a little bit and make a phone call if it's at 0%. Can be a lifesaver even tbh.
Well, you can almost use in any case, it is hard to take it in flaw !
