You guys should be proud of this one.
It's a masterpiece! And I hate everything.
@@paulj0557tonehead I read this as because this is so good I now hate everything haha but I think you meant your standards are high because you usually hate stuff.
it's okay if they are not, I'm proud enough for all of us
You wish you wrote it ;) HUGE fan of yours btw
"A Good Girl's Guide to Murder" series has brought me to this perfection.
same, this song is so good. got it on vinyl yesterday
Да я тоже услышал её в этом сериале. Можешь сказать в какой серии звучала эта песня пожалуйста
В начале пятой серии, на пятой минуте с копейками.
@@1111-e2p спасибо

play this at my funeral so ill come back to life
She’s got that Regina Spektor vibe to her voice. I love it. Very refreshing that voice with all the electronic and analog change ups. This is beautiful.
I just heard this on 6 music and thought it was Regina Spektor. But delighted to find another artist with unusual qualities.
2 birdsss on a wireeeeee 🐦 🐦
True
Yeah electro Regina Spektor
I dug through my music collection trying to find that uncanny similarity with another voice I recognise - it was Regina Spektor.
this is quintessential jockstrap. amazing production, transcendent vocals, cool lo-fi switchup, and honestly just a lot of fun. Cannot wait for the album
I can't believe she is the violin girl from BCNR. She sings beautiful OMG
Surprised she didn’t take over for Issac, that would have been cool if they had brought Jockstrap and BCNR together if magic was possible.
Maybe she prefers writing her own stuff for jockstrap rather than collaborating with six people to keep things fresh in both directions.
It’s funny - I’m a big BCNR fan, but I found out about Jockstrap from a black midi interview - at one point Georgie said “thank god we have Jockstrap.”
@@RustinChole do you know which interview this was?
@@natnar6181 not off the top of my head……. It was a music press article, begins with them going out on a boat with the interviewer somewhere then going for food afterwards….. it’s a “Hellfire” release interview shouldn’t be too hard to find by way of Google.
@@RustinChole think in bcnr everyone is going to chip in doing vocals now that isaac has left
What is BCNR?
That “holy metrinome” line is brilliant.
matrimony
WOW! The switchup to the "bedroom" sound is insanely well executed! Makes the moment feel very intimate!
I didn't realize she was the violinist for Black Country, New Road. She's Astonishing!!
Just figured this out now after seeing BCNR live.
crazy how she’s in two of the best bands ever
this is a certified hood classic
What ,hood? Dalmarnock?
@@pifflepockle Good in any hood. Staying power!
My hood 😘
I’m 50. Been through house and music since the 80’s. This is without doubt a superbly produced track…love the vocal. Love the uplift. Perfect🔥
Nothing like jockstrap out there, it's like a whole new genre.
Seriously.
Each of their songs are like a rhapsody, there's always a certain progression in moods across different genres. Only way I could describe it.
Honestly really cool!
@@re_i_gn They both have classical music backgrounds, so it makes sense.
I mean I'd agree but they certainly take influence from a variety of artists; at one point they screamed JPEGMAFIA mixed with a bit of Kero Kero Bonito.
@@Wackaz id argue they're biggest influence has gotta be james blake surely
Honestly, you are probably one of the most exciting Art Pop groups ive heard in a while. This song was beyond exquisite, it was cosmic, elegant, and textural with Georgia Ellery channelling a touch of Bowie and Kate Bush; "The woman who fell to earth"
Utterly sublime on every level👌
Complexity + structure + imagination/experimentation is what defines jockstraps music in my opinion, they make music in a way I’ve never heard before and it’s really inspiring
Masterclass in mixing right here
year for real, its articulated and intricate af, so well produced.
absolutely mesmerising, amazing, incredible, magic, fantastic, spectacular
Faaaabulous, it is giving Kate Bush, Regina Spektor, Joni Mitchell and Caroline Polachek but is undeniably Georgia Ellery, love the whole album!!!
What a beautiful song. Instant classic. Pop does not get better than this.
never felt so entranced by a song especially on a first listen. This could've gone on forever and I'd be sitting here listening till the end.
Best song of the 20's so far.
Haven't heard very much thats as good as this since the 80s and 90s. Reminds me of latter-era XTC. Absolutely beautiful.
Wow, never heard anything like that. This song is pure magic. I'm so glad I found this band.
God I love the high notes so much it's magical. This band is just amazing
This belongs on repeat projected on a large wall in a Modern Art Museum. What a masterpiece.
This reminds me of Radioheads Amnesiac with Regina Spektor and Zero 7. Beautiful music.
What a glorious thing to wake up to
Those vocals are simply gorgeous! I really hope to hear more of them. Carries the same emotional resonance as the vocals of Hannah from London Grammar, but much higher in pitch.
literally been obsessed with jockstrap since i heard this song in AGGGTM❤ this is a masterpiece
Things this European air does according to songs:
1. Always warms my face
2. Makes me cry
Patiently waiting for these two to compose a ballet. God tier creativity and ingenuity.
jockstrap’s music is crazy. i can’t believe how good it is off the bat. weird and experimental but so sweet and nice and head-bobbing
Certified street sweeper music, gonna go buy a Fanta from 7/11 and blow out my speakers to this song:)
An excellent track Concrete is becoming one of my favourite Jockstrap tracks.
I was so unsure about how I felt about this song but it crept inside my head and lives there rent free now. Jam of the summer along with Sad Girls Luv Money for me
I think this tops City Hell as my favorite of their songs. What a masterpiece!
City hell is good
I have just discovered this album, and I have to say it's one of the most exciting I've heard in the last few years!
Excellent!
I think no one was expecting something like this.
Magical
Another brilliant video, great physical acting performance. I really like the musical and creative direction this band is moving in.
Oyyyy the last groups I discovered that hit this hard was plaid and braille face 💗💗💗
Fantastic. Can’t wait till your album comes along 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Amazing... Best discovery of the year so far
1:49 this part onwards is so good! Love the electronics
It’s been over a month and I still can’t stop listening to this song
Absolutely in love with this song. Can't get it out of my head. Has a similar emotion and wonderment as The Glow pt 2 and Universe by The Microphones and, like them, just as it reaches what feels like the peak it takes it up another notch. Love it. Absolute masterpiece. I hope they do more like this one.
Concrete over water to me describes a good memory with someone that you want to keep forever, while the river of time washes everything else away. I don’t know what the original sentiment of the song was, but that’s what it means to me.
Got goosebumps. this was so gooood
Peak artistry.
The last 60 seconds is the best cinematography and editing I've seen in ages!
What a gorgeous song. Beautiful vocals and great production. Excited for the eventual debut album
You're just so good. I love how the production flickers between really close live piano in a small room through to like.. Club anthem. And the motifs in your music, lyrically, melodically. You just have it all! Incredible technicality and craft, experimentation, emotion. And theatricality too 🎭💜🎶✨
This is so good, it's been in my head for weeks now,. Some of those chords were damn near epoch-making
I've only just come across this. How wonderfully captivating it is.
Delightfuly avante guarde!
Reminds me a bit of early Regina Spector 🙃
One of the most incredible things I've ever heard.
Just found this duo a month ago and they're already some of my favorite songs ever. I cannot wait for them to tour and release new music ❤
Pushing the boundaries of so many artforms here whilst also just plain old banging out great tunes, lyrics, beats and general vibes❤️
Such a beautiful and charming sound, that resembles everything and at the same time is absolutely unique.
It must be the best thing I found in a long time. Thank you.
This is actually insane and great, holy shit that live part in the middle oh my god
Only just found this amazing band after watching Glastonbury yesterday and I fell in love. ❤
Same, such an unusual genre. I’m hooked though.
Same
I wish to just be in the head of the mind who made this masterpiece
Only for a few moments
I am so curious
This comment you made could make for great lyrics.
This is ART POP!
Love this song! Her voice! Such a unique band. Also - she looks SO much like Olivia Hussey 😍
the second you guys come to the states im here for you i do not care where you need to be to make it work im just here to watch you make music.
You guys are redefining what music can be
attended jockstrap two days ago and this is some spot-on shit
So many thoughts and pieces nicely packed together into an amazing track. Really gives ISAM vibes. Thank you so much.
She's like a modern Kate bush I love this so much
You guys are great! I always show your music to everyone I know because I know you'll be big with this incredibly good music. The production is so clean and Georgia's voice is magical!
amazing song
gorgeous lighting, hot damn
Favorite song right now honestly
This is just incredible on so many levels. Everything's 10\10!
What an absolute spunk to boot as well
This track is one of the best vocal video tracks I’ve seen man
Jockstrap has for a while been one of those things I really want to like and have tried to like but couldn’t get into it- nevertheless acknowledging the talent/merit of the music. But THIS… Absolute masterpiece. Fantastic work.
album of the year
absolutely amazing.
""Oh, a night
On what bridge we stood
Concrete over water
I think you remind me of the night
But also of the day
I think of Italy, champagne
I think of Spain""
love the lyrics and the surrealism of your music
This is the best thing ever
these guys are definitely my best discovery in a while. just so cool.
There is a man in the musical segment of heaven called Tim Smith. Tim Smith loves this song very much. If ever I heard a Cardiac evolution then this is it. Beautiful in it's own right but faded somewhere in the background here Tim Smith sits and smiles.
absolute banger
music&video of the century
This is my favorite song right now. Awesome song.
In awe of this duo. Timeless ❤
I've had this song on repeat so many times over the last year. Never thought to watch the video until now. Wasn't expecting it to be like this. It's bizarre, but I think I like it.
I literally just discovered you from Fantano's weekly track Roundup and I wanted to hear what he thought about Lizzo and you were right after and then he said y'all's track was amazing so I said why not check it out and oh my gosh he was not wrong. This was absolutely fantastic I loved every single moment of it like just awesome. It almost gave me like Adventure Time Vibes like music that would be featured in adventure time but just elevated to a higher level this was amazing. It was so theatrical yet at the same time unique. And I absolutely loved the mixing
It's incredible how fast i fell in love with this song
best song ever written. Thanks Jockstrap 😘
Obsessed, mesmerized, healed.
The video really helped me get into this song, revisiting when I have an edible later tbh
I got chills listening to this! So so so eager and excited to hear an album from you guys. This song is just so incredible...
❤
I listened to this song and The City on repeat. It is wonderful.
yes, this feels so incredibly tied to The City!
It’s got a similar vocal line to The City - kinda calls back to it in the first verse too. I wonder if it’s connected in any way?
@ELODIE!! is right, and the theme of the City is similarly ever-present
@Athenss that's so cool, have they ever declared it explicitly in an interview or something? If that's the case you have a link?
@Athenss I mean I read somewhere that their first EP was about that quite literally. I'm curious what would they do if they made songs about more things tho
i collect music videos and this gets my award for the year 2022. it's a beautiful bit of art
Interesting group I’m definitely into experimental outsider music … I like them I’ll listen to more of theirs. 🎭🎤🎉💫💃
This will be nostalgized for eternity.
Genuinely beautiful. love the violin and the elegance and oddity of the tune, this duo is so unique
So good. Feels like a nod to Hounds of Love and Sat in Your Lap too. Amazing.
This is peak music, its only downhill from here as a society
This is the kind of (indie) pop that i like. Original and innovative, but with a lottle "taste" of retro.
Great work the whole album!
If you found a cranky, conservative boomer who was on a post-dental-surgery amount of percs, put some headphones on them, and played this they would awaken to the true power of love and art. It would shatter every one of their preconceived notions and break them like a wild horse.
Fuckin tell em Alex
