- EUROPEAN RAILWAYS of the 1990s
Fidenza Stazione (Italy FS) on 26th September 1997
Around half way between Bologna and Milano (Milan) lies the town of Fidenza. Nicely breaking the journey we alighted here for over an hour. The place seemed a little slower paced than before, but captured on video was the ETR 500 series passing through the station at a good speed and several freight trains amongst the plentiful of passenger services stopping and passing. Again many types of FS Electric traction is seen, old and not so old.
I hope this series will appeal to the BR enthusiast as well as the European enthusiasts and again feel free to comment on any material or subscribe and like to the channel to help support it's growing popularity. It may not always be possible to answer every comment or question, especially if it is not in English, but every comment is read and greatly appreciated. I do hope this video entertains and evokes old fond memories of the European Railway Scene of the era.

Many thanks and greatly appreciated....Mark
Excellent as always, I'm going to ask the Italian Railways Society about painting the ballast and sleepers - it does seem to be deliberate.
Until the 1990s, Italian state railways coated the tracks of medium and large stations with sanitizing powders/substances, usually white in color. This practice was necessary because trains discharged their toilet water directly onto the tracks themselves. Ciao Ciao!
MMmmm maybe a nice Pink eh....No it was for a reason...Many thanks and best regards as always...mark
Unusual to see a 424 on a freight [Local Traffic Engine?]Still two drivers on a loco -fine splendid idea but there again I'm biased when it comes to driving.
Yes I agree with you...Best regards FS...That is you not the Italian Railway !....Mark
