    awesome! I would pick option b for the cladding.

    Great episode! Thank you. Given what I've seen from this series, the natural tones and the tung oil, I will guess that you will choose option B -- but I do not believe there are any wrong choices! Thank you again. 👋

    amazing as always! not sure of your building codes, but normally there are jack studs and cripple studs as well as a double header used when constructing rough window openings. This will help carry the weight of the roof above and prevent sagging and warping over time. Just thought I would mention that.

      Thank you for your comment and sharing your thoughts! The wall is now half finished, in the next episode it will be finished and I think some of your questions will be answered. I am building sometimes a bit backwards (compared to a conventional build), because my first priority was to get the roof up. Some reinforcements are added later. This wall is also not load bearing. The main weight of the roof is transferred to the front and back wall.

    Option “b” is a very good choice, however a darker cladding has added benefits. Basically, a darker cladding will make it easier to warm up quicker from solar energy. I feel it depends on what the ultimate use for the Treehouse is and the temperature preferences of the owner.

    • @BuildingInNature
      @BuildingInNature  2 місяці тому +2

      Thanks for the comment! You make a good point that I didn't think of, the dark cladding will warm up easier by the sun, so it will dry out quicker after rain. I don't think that in my situation in the forest the inside temperature will be influenced much, also because of the insulation that I'm planning to install and how the cladding will be attached. In a future episode it will become clear what i mean :) good to consider.

    The first thing you need to learn is how to repel bugs if you want to live in a tree house.

    • @BuildingInNature
      @BuildingInNature  Місяць тому +1

      Yes definitely, this will be in a future episode. I underestimated it a bit and am dealing with it already. Woodworms are also something to deal with in my situation. So I am taking preventive action. The challenge is to do this in an environmental friendly way. I think I am figuring it out. Part of the challenge :)
