I always get a strange feelings seeing live sets from the summer of 2001. The fact this video ends abruptly in the middle of a song adds to that feeling. Great set of theirs.
seen STD more times than i can remember. i put them right up next to Every Time I Die as having the most memorable and consistently awesome sets of any band i've seen.
@Steve Griendling I've been fortunate enough to see them about 10 times from 2015 through 2019 and fully enjoyed every moment. Also saw them around 2000. Really like the late 90s and early 2000s sound, but enjoyed all their music thoroughly I'm not sure if they'll ever play again, but I consider myself eternally grateful for the memories
@@crk140 for sure, Can't Slow Down and Through Being Cool are two soundtracks to one of the most memorable periods of my life, so i'm partial to the older stuff too. but i really like some of the sounds they played with, like on Don't Go Outsie and Tomorrow Too Late. they groove hard on those tracks. they'll definitely play again. they just played in Philly (where i live) at This Is Hardcore, and they hard arguably the best set of the entire weekend.
@@SteveGriendling yeah I was thinking of going to that. I'm from central PA. Chris got into some trouble, so they don't have any shows booked right now.
maybe i'm starting to lose my memory, either due to age or multiple concussions, but i can't believe this song was out in 2001. i remember this coming out around 2004 or 2005 for some reason.
“At Your Funeral” specifically? I could be full of it but I think the internet at the time kind of gave that song some extra life in 03-04 onward as more people found it via MySpace and such. Maybe that’s why it seems like it was a later song? :)
@@Pendarr i was a junior in high school in 2001, me and my friends listened to STD constantly. i remember prom weekend we listened to TBC and CSD, and all my memories of listening to Stay What You Are were after HS. but, i've lived like 3 lives since then so it's possibly my memory is just hazy.
Stay what you are was released 7/10/2001. The music video started circulating widely on some of the new video playing sites around 2003 though which is probably what you remember because it gave it new life.. I remember it showing up on ebaumsworld for quite some time for example.
