      You can use some castor oil, but I recommend cutting it with another thinner carrier oil because the castor just doesn't help the plant release constituents very well as it's so viscous.

    Hi Heidi, I love your channel - so much great info! I had a question - What are your thoughts on combining Frankincense, Myrrh, and turmeric into an oil infusion? I have some skin issues I’m trying to get relief from, and I’ve heard that all three of these have strong healing properties. In your opinion, would it be a good idea to combine all three for one infusion, or use them separately? Also trying to figure out amounts that would be best to use. Thanks!

    • @HeidiVillegas
      @HeidiVillegas  2 місяці тому

      That's a great combo! Just keep in mind the turmeric may stain. You can combine them all....or make them separately then combine. That latter way would be the way I would choose, because then you can adjust the amount of turmeric infused oil.

    • @HeidiVillegas
      @HeidiVillegas  6 місяців тому +2

      I can't give you an exact amount because: The dilution you choose is going to depend on a number of factors: how much of the infused oil you're using, the age of the person/animal you're working with, the size of the person/animal, the needs of the person/animal (including constitution) and also what your intention is for the oil. For example, pain relief, grounding/meditation, focus/clarity, mood, skincare, and others..... All of these contribute to determining the number of drops you'll need.
      I teach aromatherapy in our school, and our new course Aromatherapy level 1 certification is coming out soon! But I address safety and dilution in the Tribe and also in the Ditch the Drugstore course as well.

      Hi, Nichole! If you purchased quality resin, it should smell VERY similar to the essential oil only not as strong. I'm wondering where you purchased your frankincense? It may have to do with quality, and that would be my guess. @@nicholeclarke2772

      I'm just starting out on my journey, it's been a year since the first time I bought resins and I still don't own a crock pot so what I do is I DIY something like a bain marie (double boiler?) for maybe an hour or 2 and then I let it sit and I use something like a syringe to extract what I need into a different smaller container. I simply add new oil or newer resins into the same container. I haven't thrown out anything yet. I'm not sure if I should though but so far so good!

That's where I got that batch of frankincense tears, and it's the best quality I've ever worked with. I can tell it's not harvested using inferior means. I should reach out to them and ask if it's from cultivated Boswellia or wildcrafted....It probably says on the package, but I didn't look. Hi, Geri! If you put the oil directly into the crockpot, it will "cook" the oil, even on the lowest setting, so the double boiler method allows you to manage the gentle heat better. Also---directly in the crockpot, you'd have to use more oil unless you have a tiny crockpot.
