    I LOVE this video! Maybe I’m not a crazy show jumper, but I’m in the training! People don’t understand every Wednesday what could happen to me, and when they do, they call me stupid for risking my life for a “stupid” sport. But they don’t get to me! The risk is all worth it! I’m not stupid, and horses are more then you think! They just need to learn about what we do, how dangerous, fun, and WORTH THE TIME IT IS!

      @Pink_Ponk. 7 років тому +3

      Bella Strongpaw Starstable it is a stupid sport to jump horses. This hurts their back, joints, and muscles. Horses don't want to jump and they only do it in the wild if they need to and it's a log at most. Show jumping is abusive and wrong. If you truly loved horses, you wouldn't put them through pain and misery.

      druid cass if you truly were not stupid you would realise that there is a lot of time and effort put into the methods people use when jumping to make sure that the horses dont get hurt .FEI makes sure that every thing is done correctly becuase if it was bad ,it would be banned.why do you think people go into lightseat when they jump?to take pressure of the horse!and if jumping is bad for horses then all sports(people included)should be stopped because you are bound to hurt a muscle .there are BARLEY any wild horses left and horses have been evolved and bred to make SURE that its fine for them so do not hate on one person before you know the facts

      Ramdom Twitches Theres more of a Chance of hurting a horse in cross country then there is in showjumping.The speeds they Canter/Gallop At And the Obstacles they jump I have seen WAAAY More
      Accidents In cross country Then in showjumping and that’s coming from someone who has been training horses for over 27 years.

    Equestrianism is so much more than a passion , a sport , a hobby , it is 2 best friends , the horse that would walk through fire for the human , the human that would risk their lives for the horse . It is a sport words cannot describe the commitment. LOVE THIS

    This is amazing! I don't think anyone understands the fact that we know how dangerous it is yet we don't care because we love the animal and sport too much. The other day my grandmother(a non-horsey person) was telling me about a girl who fell off her horse and got a concussion. Then she started going on about how I should quit because it's too dangerous. But it's not that simple. Us equestrians just can't just quit that easily, we Don't quit like that. Just because we hear about some injury that put someone in a hospital because frankly, lots of us have lived those types of injuries yet you still didn't quit. In my opinion, us Equestrians are the most dedicated athletes.

    Its frustrating when people say it’s easy , I feel like putting them on a horse and tell them to go do big jumps bet they won’t even get the horse to walk. My mum isn’t an equestrian but she watches me ride and she understands how hard it is because I ride a horse that doesn’t listen and just does what she wants but that’s a mare for you

      It's true, competitive horse riding is not easy it's hard work (even for non-competitive rders). I grew up around horses, I didn't compete, but any equestrian worth it, knows that it's hard work! Training and practice build a relationship between horse and rider/handler, it creates a bond of trust and love, to become a team! That doesn't come easy! I like what barrel racers go by: 3 barrels, 2 hearts, and 1 goal. That is a team that works together, that knows each others capabilities because of a bond of trust and love! That bond comes from knowing how each other responds, like the subtle queues of the rider and the horse responding to the rider, knowing what is being asked of it by the rider! Riding is two becoming one, that is a true team! A team that is in sync with each other! Equestrians and horse are one of the best team sports in the world!

    Beautiful ❤️ even though I know people who ride, almost all of my friends did not even know that it was in the Olympics when I asked them if they thought it was, and I said, “Well then why wouldn’t it be in the Olympics if it’s a sport?” And they were like, “Wait it’s a sport?” But because they don’t do it, I don’t expect them to know too much, but I definitely think that equestrians are underestimated by tons. Love the video 💕

    I had a bad fall here’s my story
    A few years past I was jumping 3ft going to competitions and travel for them. People would pay me to ride their horses to train them. Then I was at the hampton classic last year. I was jumping and fell off while on the jump. I cracked my head open and was rushed to the hospital. I came out with a concussion, cracked head , and a shattered foot. I was on crutches and a cast for 10 weeks. I have been trying to get back horse riding but was too scared. 3 months ago I got on a horse. I was shaking I was so scared. I have been training since then and now am jumping 2ft again. I am proud how far I have come. But people in my school still say “Horse riding is not a sport , you just sit there”. They don’t get the pain the sorrow I went and other people have gone through. Thank You for reading this. God bless you all.

    {Here's my quick story if you wanna read ^^}
    I started horse riding two years ago, at the age of 10. It first started when I was younger, I was riding a horse and I really liked it. Years later I saw a place where there was horses and I said to my dad ''Dad, look! There's horses can we go pet them?'' He said that it was a place where you would ride horses and gallop with them and etc. I was really impressed that you could actually ride horses so I asked him if I could, and he said ''sure''. Then he got me a ticket or something like that to be able to visit the place and ride a horse. (The person would hold the horse and you'd just ride it.)
    Two or three years later, I asked him if we could go horse riding and he said, ''You'll go hiking with a horse first to see if you like it, then I'll think about it''. Later me and my mom went hiking with the horses and I really enjoyed that. So my father accepted and I went to try horse riding and I instantly fell in love with it. I rode all summer until it was winter time (unfortunately the pandemic came and I couldn't ride anymore).
    And not so long ago I went horse riding again and for the first time, I fell off the horse. We were trotting over bars on the ground and the horse was very anxious so she quickened the pace and went into a canter and I had never cantered alone without a rope. So I tried to keep calm and remembered about what to do if you're cantering (From what I've seen on yt) but we were going straight to a wall and didn't really have time to stop her. So the horse cantered to the right and I fell to my left on my back and had difficulty to stay straight. I coudn't breathe for some seconds and I was in a bit of pain but then it went back to normal afterwards ( My back only hurted for 2-3 days and the pain was gone).
    Even though there's still the pandemic and I can't really ride anymore, I never really stopped thinking or stopped talking about riding horses because I just feel like myself when I am riding. It feels so amazing and I feel free.
    And all of this just to say that I never gave up on riding. Even though i did fell and it was scary, I never doubted to stop riding. I am now 13 years old and I still never gave up on riding.
    Thank you for reading! (Sorry for my bad english, haha.)

    Yes!!! You are so talented. This is a very very very powerful and true edit! No one understands, and when they do, they call us stupid for risking our lives. We, equestrians. Would rather risk our life everyday, improving our connection, our bond with our horses. We'd rather clean stalls then talk to people. We'd rather have a horse comforting us then a human comforting us. It's what equestrians are. Deal with it.

    blah blah blah this is giving me *strong* FEI vibes. Seriously though why is every equestrian so obsessed with outside validation, we don't have to prove to others that riding is hard as long as we believe it our selves. Also, this video is very one sided? What about non-competitive riders, those who do groundwork and actually let the horse say no?

    This is an incredible video and expresses the reality and truth of riding horses and being a true Equestrian. I love the fact of making horse and rider out to be teammates. kadette22 putting a bit in a horses is mouth, whipping them to go faster, and making them jump over obstacles they aren’t built to jump over is not some thing I would want a fellow equestrian to call teamwork. Everybody should be able to see how terrible all of these riders are being to their horses.

    • @definitely.ssmart
      @definitely.ssmart 2 роки тому

      @@thatgirlchristina1844 pls 90% of equestrians never uses a whip 💀 And horses are bred to do specifically activities, for example, Friesians are dressage horses and it’s not recommended to make them jump, while Kwpn are really good jumping horses but can also do dressage. And if horse riding is abusive, why is it in the Olympics??

      Kyla M. //Tell that to my back when I fell. I could have gone to the hospital. When some people fall they can never ride again because of their injuries. When our beloved horse dies. We never forget it and it's one of the worst things to happen to an equestrian. You know nothing if you say we don't loose or do anything. You've clearly only sat in saddle and nothing more.

    • @KM-px8cs
      @KM-px8cs 7 років тому +3

      Ludwig Beilschmit The pain I was referring to is the pain your "beloved" HORSES feel when they are whipped, drugged, worked day in and day out, treated as objects, and have there legs (weakened by unecessary breeding practices) put under tremendous amounts of stress until they finally snap and the horse is put down and disposed of like a toy or when it suffers a cardiac episode and drops dead at a fair for pulling a fucking wagon just for show or at a race for being used like a sportscar. The pain the HORSE feels mentally when it wants to please but it also tormented by the tasks it is expected to do in order to please. The pain the HORSE feels as the bit pulls it's lips back and it foams at the mouth because the bridle is tightened to far and the horse is being controlled under heavy hands for the entertainment of a audience. No shit you people feel pain when you fall, laws of gravity 😂 but I meant pain with much more depth....not just pain because you lost a animal you invested in, pain fans feel after losing a bet, pain in the wallet, or pain because of your own heavy hands and poor technique causing the horse to act out and hurt you or itself. I've done a lot more than just sitting in a saddle, no just person would ever do what has been done to horses....if I ever was to put one of my horses in a sport it would be one that caused no strenuous activity on it's body to the point where it may end up losing it's life and it would be a sport where instead of hiring a training and care staff I could do it all myself to insure that no abuse or drugging was taking place all under the name of greed and entertainment.

    • @August-kc8xw
      @August-kc8xw 7 років тому +5

      Kyla M. //Bitch fuck you if you think all equestrians are like that. Not all of us are. When I see a horse treated the way you described I would never stand for that. If that happened in front of me you best believed I'd get involved. You speak when you know nothing. Horses are NOT an object. They are our friends and our most trusted companions. You hide behind a screen. I dare you to EVER say that in the face of a true equestrian. We never want to see an animal in pain. No I don't cry over lost money you dumb shit because I HAVE NONE. I cry because I remember them for their soul and their passion. The good times we shared and the times we've been there for each other. And your attitude reminds me EXACTLY why I like them more than this human race. I have loved horsed ever since I could remember, never once have I ever abused a horse in my life. I ride easy, no saddle, no bit. He don't feel a thing. So shut up and go cyber bully someone else and leave the REAL horse lovers to their duties. Taking care of these precious animals.

    • @KM-px8cs
      @KM-px8cs 7 років тому +3

      HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH Bitch if you people loved the horses you would stop the continuation of "sport" that harms them but you don't because you "equestrians" and "horse lovers" are selfish and greedy. I never said ALL of you abuse them but abuse is definitely ongoing and has barely lessened even when under public scrutiny. You guys ALL do in fact try to push your emotions off on to horses though to defend all your shortcomings. I'm not a keyboard warrior, I'll say everything I just said in your face or any other punk ass "equestrian's" face. I'm glad you may "ride easy" but my point is that there are thousand and thousands of other riders around the world who don't. Why not just keep these amazing animals for any relevant work they can still do that isn't harmful and as companions and riding horses. Have a nice day.

    Oh geez, this is a horrible video... Where do I begin? How's about the painful bit in each horse's mouth that breaks their teeth, cracks their lips, makes them foam from pain. Jumping is also cruel. Forcing your slav- err I mean your "best friend" to jump over things they aren't built for, permanently damaging their joints and spine because you want to fly. These horses are in pain. Look in their eyes. If you really loved your horses, you'd listen to them and not force them to do these things. If you want to ride properly, use a bit less bridle or even a rope halter. Don't jump them over obstacles. Don't smack them with whips to make them go faster. Don't pat them so hard it hurts. Don't do anything to that horse that you wouldn't want done to yourself

      Druid Cass go fuck yourself. Even though I agree Some Equestrians do pull on the bit too hard and that pisses me off. Also Horses were build to do all the sports they do. Some might not enjoy jumping/dressage/etc. and the rider SHOULD listen to them. And the Whips are used to remind them to behave (depending on the training) Anyway. Just shut up mind your own business

    • @paulineytb1283

      Druid Cass I know that with the videos you saw of horses you must think that it’s a horrible sport but if you didn’t try you can’t say that it’s not painful for the horse because equestrians respect them like his own child you don’t know how it’s feel to be on a animal who know what’s your dream and want to help you. 90% of horses love jumping or dancing ... but you know that racing (horse who run) is not part of horse riding. Oh and their eyes, all horses have that 😂 it’s just the coloring of the video. And there lot’s of sport with horses who are in liberty. Outside of the championship horses are ttreated and relaxed like you on your sofa😂, and we don’t want to fly it’s just the feeling we have of being in balanced on him all our muscles must contract, if not we can fall. And we don’t pat them hardly with just « touch » him, like a signal to go faster and the horse understand.
      And horses who don’t want to jump they don’t jump. Equestrians understand. For example my horse juste don’t want to jump so i prefered not to forced him so we tried dressage and he was just so happy 😁and every equestrians do that ,horses who jump or dance it’s a horse who like that otherwise they will have made us fall! They always can made us fall but they don’t do that because they like what we are doing

    I tried horse riding when I was a child. I couldn’t do it. It scared me to know I’d never really have control over my horse, not really. I’d be forever dependent on his goodwill.
    But those who do conquer that fear, I have a lot of respect for those people. They’ve got something special in their mind. A resilience, a fearlessness that you rarely come across these days. And psychological insight beyond compare. Because they do not abuse their horse. No, they respect it in its feelings & somehow, over time, both horse & rider learn to understand each other & perform this “dance” together, as long time friends, partners, who respect each other.
    That’s why I’ll always admire equestrians
