Thank you. Thank you so much for making this video. My pony and have lost our confidence so many times. I had a period where I just completely gave up on jumping, and tried to find a new horse. I dreamt of selling him, and getting a perfect horse, that jumped with no problems, and you wanna know why? Because my pony is a refuser, and he refuses anything ANYTHING I tell you! There was days where he jumped like a star, and it’s not because he’s not ready to jump, because he has been in the championships, but these days where rare, and I didn’t know what I did to make him jump, and what I did to make him refuse. I asked multiple trainers, watched multiple videos, but I just couldn’t find the reason. Then not so long ago I decided that this is not how a rider behaves. You don’t just give up. And after months and months of training, we are finally here. He still refuses, but he trusts me. He needs to know that I’m there for him. That I’m never gonna let him go or give him up. And I just wanna thank him. Thank him for teaching me about hope, about confidence, and most importantly, trust. I love you Gizmo. You will always be in my heart, and I will never forget you, or what you taught me.❤️
this made me cry. my pony isn’t a refuser. i am. i want to jump. i want to be in the jumpers. and so does she. but yet i refuse. i don’t understand what i am scared of. am i scared to fall? to fail? to trust? i don’t know.
This is similar of what happened to me, My mare would kick and bite and I did not know what to do I worked with her and worked and worked but she did not get better at it and when I was really ready to give up I thought NO you can't you have got to hope and work and MAKE IT HAPPEN now she is a kid friendly still a little sassy but she and I made it because we made the dream come true the lesson means a lot and I sill love Willow to this day. I love the lesson
I got my first ever horse 3 years ago. Her name is Jules and she’s a Morgan mare…and I can tell you that she is the most complicated horse I have ridden. But I love her for what she does for me. She’s teaching me that life isn’t easy and everything doesn’t go your way. I will never give up and when ever I think of giving up I think of how far i came! YOU have to keep pushing forward and you WILL get there! Keep going and do what you love to do!💞
I have been riding horse since before I could walk. I’m 13. I got a x-race horse about a year ago. I was on a trail ride and a few boys in my grade were on their dirt bikes. They thought it would be funny to “follow” us. They spooked my horse. I fell but my foot was caught in the stirrup. I was in the hospital for three months. I got out two weeks ago. And the first thing I did was ride that horse. Because of this. I don’t want to give up. And I fell the first time I got back on. But I kept trying and now it’s easier. And now I trust that horse more than I’ve ever trusted anyone including my family. ❤
I may be a year late but this video helps me a lot. I have been riding for 12 years and the first time I ever fell off a horse was in 2018 in January, i was riding my cousins horse and I broke my arm and couldn’t ride for two months. I lost all my confidence but I still got back on the horse I fell off. My heart horse died 8 months after I broke my arm in September, just two weeks before a four day horse show. This year in July I fell off again, for the second time but I didn’t get hurt and lost a little bit of confidence, but I got back on the horse. In August of this year I also found the courage to canter the horse I fell off of and broke my arm on. Now I can ride my cousins horse again without being scared, I even cantered her over some cross poles for the first time on her. I usually jump 2’3. I know a lot of people won’t read this, but if you do thank you for reading it.
I have a mare and she used to bite and kick and I didn't know what to do I worked with her and worked and worked but she did not get better at it and when I was really ready to give up I thought NO YOU MUST NOT she finally got better and now she is a kid friendly horse still sassy sometimes but if you just keep going u will get there and never give up.I loved your story very Inspiring and I'm sry that ur horse died. What was it's name?
this made me cry so much. I had to quit horseback riding 3 months ago... I had to sell my horse, all of my tack, and try and forget about horses. I miss my bay horse so so so much... writing this makes me cry more. The whole reason for this is because my father had lost his job and wasn't getting any money. We ended up moving across the country and my life kinda fell apart. This isn't the end of a chapter, it's the end of the story... I will forever keep my passion for riding in my heart, I may never be able to ride again. I hope and pray that I can continue my life of riding. I love you so much my beautiful Lucky charm (My bay) I will never ever forget you, stay safe and happy with your new owner.
@@mistyroyalhrt7166 yes, this is late... but I have just come across this, I saw Lucky not too long ago, She's well and very healthy. The minute we locked eyes, She almost exploded with joy, and so did I.
i do have anger issues and i'm depressed and it makes life harder, but honestly, these horses are the only thing that push through that barrier and show me the sunlight in life. Thats why i'm so obsessed, well Anime too but i still love horses much more.
Ty for this😢 recently I had a very bad accident and injured my leg badly (broke it) so after that I was honestly terrified of getting back on and my freinds being the non equestrians they r kept encouragibg me to quit and honestly I almost did but then I found this and I got back on and I tried and yes iv fallen of since but never felt like I wanted to give up! So ty for this it really helped me ❤❤
This video may have been made a while ago, but I really needed this. I’m going riding tomorrow, but I was starting to loose interest as I didn’t think I could do anything, couldn’t progress, but this made me realise that I can learn, and I can do amazing things if I don’t give up ❤️ anybody can!
Sometimes I feel like giving up, I feel like this dream of me having my own horse will never happen. I can ride, and boy do I love it. I had a horse I took care off that got sold, me and that pony where inseparable, I miss her every day I wonder where she is what she is doing, she was the only thing I cared about for a long time. But then she was gone, I cried and I still cry, I entered a point where I felt sadness all the time. I came through but I miss her and I always will, I may never see her again. She will be 5 years old now. I saw a video I am positive it was her but I missed my chance to ask now I will never know
2 months late here but I hope you're doing well❤ Losing a horse is hard, especially one you sound so close too. I just lost one at the barn I ride/work at and it really bites. But, seriously, dont give up on that dream. If you really want to own a horse and live as an equestrian, if you really want that, then there's nothing that will stop you. If you had to separate yourself from horses and still want to have a horse in your life every second of every day, then dont give up. You deserve to achieve that dream, you deserve to reach that goal. I truly hope you get there one day and I truly hope you dont ever give up❤
Im like 3 Years late idk anymore, I Needed to watch this sometimes I Barely want to Get on a Horse, But Next Lesson i want to Canter even since someone i knew died, I Just wanted To stop Riding But It kind of just made me Stronger. and This Video Made me want to Get back one Thank you.
Yesterday it was my first time cantering I fell of but you know what? I got back on the SADDLE and I didn’t give up and today I’m telling my trainer I’m ready to do it I’m ready to canter through the woods and never give up on what I love it is my passion!
I don't wanna give up on horseback riding, its my passion really! Though my father thinks that all we do is sit there, its like he doesn't have any faith in me. He thinks the horse does all the work. And it gets me irritated because we ALSO work too. But I will NOT and EVER GIVE UP! AND YOU SHOULDN'T TOO! BE THE BEST YOU CAN BE, EVEN IF YOU DON'T WANT TO. Do it for me :) Most importantly, do it for YOU....
Hi my father is also that way he don’t believe in me and my dreams he rode horses and was in rodeos and stuff but he sold his horses and quit as soon as I was born and now I try everything to have my own horse but nothing is convincing him I go to lessons once a week for 1 hour and whenever he comes to watch me he either stays in the car where he can’t see me or I mess up when he is around because I get scared I hope he sees one day that I can truly do it but I’m never gonna quit riding
This reminded me about the time my friend said to me 'why don't u just canter as soon as u are on the horse' I said to him 'well then get in it bike with stablelisers and start speeding on he was speachless

Maybe I should quit, maybe it’s not worth it, I can’t even ride anywhere other tan my house without messing up, I got a long line of people that want to buy my horses, so what’s stopping me from selling them? I started crying today because I knocked a barrel, I’m still crying about it 7 hours later, because I can’t do it, no matter how many times I practice or how long I practice I can’t do it.
What. I'll never be as good as my trainer so what's the point. I'll probably at 22 yrs. old mucking out stalls for homeless horses. When she was 10 she was jumping bareback. I CAN BARELY EVEN CANTER. I SUCK. I SUCK AT EVERYTHING I DO. NO MATTER WHAT. I SUCK AT HORSES.
So? People become better at different ages. I don't even know how to canter yet, my first canter was a full on fail causing me to fall off, green stick fracturing my collarbone. But I'm going to get there, because I want to. So what if she jumped bareback at age 10? It doesn't matter.
