I've been enjoying Ridge's work of late. I feel bad for him because people in the IWC are clearly still holding a grudge against him but his heel and promo work of late has been great and he has improved in between the ropes.
Oba Femi should be the next Paul Heyman guy. I can't explain why, but I can just see Paul following behind him. And it would give him instant credibility on main roster.
With the penalty box issue, Page cannot re-enter the match until he does his time in the box. So him refusing and taking time to enter the box only sets him back in the match as the timer only begins after the box door closes with you in it
That's what you need the third brand to do. Raw is the staple stars show, Smackdown should be the wrestling focused show, NXT is the crazy show. That way all of them can have distinctive features that mesh and attract different fans

Yep. Always thought the King of the Mountain was the most unnecessarily convoluted gimmick match. Then the Iron Survivor shows that the concept does work, if you just remove the silly reverse ladder match aspect to the bout.
I think you could legitimately have an extra women's only A-show, along with about the same amount of women's time on RAW & Smackdown. Also yes, B&G NXT was built to make five star matches, but not that many people that could appeal to the casual roster. Look at how well redoing Undisputed Era stuff has worked over in AEW.
I liked the whole show, but the main event was one of those matches that I'll end up thinking about a decade later like any of the truly great matches in existence. (But I actually think the Iron Survivor match that Roxanne Perez won was even better. Roxanne Perez could wrestle a great match with a tarnished penny she picked up off the ground. Like, it doesn't even have to be a good penny.) Trick Williams has all the personality and presence he needs. But I'm still waiting for a moment that says "I'm more than a one Trick pony."
He's on a clean AF bulk and I'm all for it! He's also a bit less flashy since his heel turn which fits to a T. He makes even simple moves look even easier than anyone else. It reminds me of heel El Phantasmo where you know he can do the most innovative and cool flippy shit and make it look easy but chooses to tease it and do something else. OH YEAAAAH MAAAAAANNNNN
All the women involved in that main event have potential to be big money stars for WWE on main roster. I’m really pessimistic on the creative to follow through and nail it tho.

It's better than KOTM because it replaced the ladder match aspect with Iron Man rules, makes the match much simpler to understand and flows better than KOTM, imo.

I think to update the iron survivor, what they should do is, if they don’t get in the penalty box, then all the things they try to do won’t count, basically they wouldn’t be considered to be in the mount until they do they’re 90 seconds
I think I just want to see some of these talents in main roster. Its time for some of these talents to get a chance to shine. WWE needs all the roster help and mid card feuds they can have with 3 hours and more TV time than ever and NXT has a ton of young talent to push forward

It's showing a lack of depth right now I believe because they're waiting for the new "breakout tournament" after the holidays where there are lots of fun guys on LVL Up who have yet to show up on NXT proper. One of the guys is a guy who looks like a younger, taller Cash Wheeler with the size of Duke Hudson. Tavion and Josh Briggs are HELLA talented. They're keeping their cards close to them until Wrestlemania.
i don’t watch NXT weekly anymore but i know i can tune into a random show like deadline and have a lot of fun. that was my first time watching iron survivor and that’s a fun concept.
People still give NXT some flak, but ngl ever since the NXT UK guys came over to NXT proper, it became as solid as ever and consistently a fun weekly watch. I've gone from watching everything AEW came out with through 2022 on top of NXT since the black and gold era and I just dropped AEW since I don't have time for as many shows and PPVs as they've been doing. HHH and HBK are so good at their weekly programming since no scripts are being torn 1h before TV time.
Iron Survivor is awesome, but... What happens when the time expires and three people are equal falls? Enter, GOLDEN FALLS MATCH; All other competitors are eliminated and those with the most falls, compete until someone wins with a fall!
I feel like the time shouldn’t start until the competitor is in the penalty box. Maximizes urgency to get back in there and rack up more points to me. The 25 minute limit is great to me.
Going to do my star ratings here seeing as I can’t do them on Friendo Club: Men’s Iron Survivor: 4 (while not as spectacular/star studded as previous iterations, this had some fun moments and Oba being a surprise entrant added to the match. Ethan Page made the most of his minutes with his performance) Vice/Parker: N/A (skipped this as I wasn’t a fan of the last NXT Underground match they did at Battleground. Worked MMA isn’t for me) Fraxiom/NQCC: 4 (the Fraxiom special. Thought Fraser did a good job selling the iron survivor, and Tavion is something special with his unique moves. Shocked Fraxiom are still fine tho, was convinced they were dropping the belts) Williams/Holland: 3.5 (a decent match. That’s all) Women’s Iron Survivor: 4.25 (a great showcase of the women. Wren Sinclair being organically over was my big takeaway here, she’s a future star)
I really can’t think of anyone I would want to pull down from the main roster. But they need a main roster dude to come down and take the title off of Trick and beat the other guys for about 3-5 months to make them improve. Someone a little older but also young.

My star ratings: Men’s ISC: 4.75/5. Amazing spots, amazing character beats, and a nice unrelenting energy throughout the match! I think everyone involved looked like a million bucks! And Oba Femi really came across like an impossible monster… even though yes, he did get beat by Tony D twice already, but we won’t talk about that! Vice vs Parker: 2.25/5. I’ve never liked the Underground matches, but at least Jaida had a solid showing. One day she’ll be champ! Fraxiom vs NQCC: 4.5/5. Fraxiom do it again, delivering a *BANGER* of a match! Even though they haven’t had the most spotlight on the stories around their matches, every title defense has been fantastic! I juuuust wish NQCC took the gold this time… Williams vs Holland: 2/5. I was really bored with this match. Even though I was invested in the build, this match just… was meh. Trick is great on the mic, not so great in the ring. Women’s ISC: 4.5/5. Another great showing for all involved, if not a bit too slow at points. Part of me was expecting Steph and Giulia to tie and have a sudden death match, but I’m not complaining about the final result.

CM Punk and Samoa Joe were wrestling Eddie Guerrero and Kobashi in bingo halls before they appeared on main stream television.
NXT is better now at building stars because black and gold barely built stars at all, for a significant period it was a funnel for some of the most over and talented people in Indy history like Samoa Joe, Kevin and Sami, Adam Cole, and Bobby Roode, all at the expense of lesser known guys like Tyler Breeze and (formerly) Tye Dillinger. Black and Gold was Peak because they were just harvesting the Indy’s of guys who were already all-but main event ready.
I like the Iron Survivor as much as the next person but the fact that it gets praised as much as it does while TNA's King of the Mountain gets called out as overcomplicated makes no sense to me. Hell, Iron Survivor is pretty much just WWE's "Don't make it look too obvious you copied my homework" iteration of KotM.
If WWE ever brings back the ECW brand, Vic definitely should go there, and maybe teamed with McAfee. Leave Booker at the PC to work with the new kids, and maybe try to get Excalibur to Orlando

I'm glad that you mentioned Ring of honor. I 1st watched ROH in 2012 because WWE & TNA was getting bad. And I saw really good Wrestling. And really good Wrestlers. I feel like ROH was the Wrestling company that let the Wrestlers go out there and have good matches. ROH wasn't perfect. But the in-ring Wrestling from just about every Wrestler was very good. That's what I like about ROH. Good matches. I didn't start to watch Wrestling until i heard Vince Russo say that good Wrestling matches don't matter. So I watched ROH to prove him wrong. I was blown away seeing a TV match of El Generico vs Roderick Strong. Sure Zayn was in WWE. But the match quality stood out to me. Just a TV match was better than anything done In the 5 years of the Attitude era. 😀
I think Ethan Page will go down the Bobby Roode route. I haven’t seen enough from him to think he’s going to have great success on main roster. I want to see more creativity around his gimmick.
Survivor Series is just a tough, over thought gimmick PLE. Whether it's the traditional 5 to 10 man elimination tag, which makes absolutely no sense. In a regular tag, guys make the save all the time. Oddly in a SS elimination, nobody makes the save even though there's more guys. Or they do, it's just obvious they're trying to work around it. Or the Brand vs Brand years that Vince loved so much. I never ever ever cared about bragging rights over Brand supremacy. Whether it's War Games, which isn't really War Games. There's no top to the cage and it's just a confined weapons match. Every single wrestler has to look under the ring for a weapon, it's ridiculous. Or this new gimmick match. No matter how you slice it, November is sure to be filled with bad gimmick ideas, overbooked messes of matches and concepts that just downright suck.

Survivor Series is just a tough, over thought gimmick PLE. Whether it's the traditional 5 to 10 man elimination tag, which makes absolutely no sense. In a regular tag, guys make the save all the time. Oddly in a SS elimination, nobody makes the save even though there's more guys. Or they do, it's just obvious they're trying to work around it.
Or the Brand vs Brand years that Vince loved so much. I never ever ever cared about bragging rights over Brand supremacy.
Whether it's War Games, which isn't really War Games. There's no top to the cage and it's just a confined weapons match. Every single wrestler has to look under the ring for a weapon, it's ridiculous.
Or this new gimmick match. No matter how you slice it, November is sure to be filled with bad gimmick ideas, overbooked messes of matches and concepts that just downright suck.
