      Medium Rick no. Preaching about lower carbon footprint and driving a gas guzzler. Practice what you preach if you plan on preaching.

      @@russellmash8807 I think he said over 3 years. Most Americans drive 15k on average a year. At this point we don't have electric pickups so we use what have. Ryan rides bicycle all the time and uses no gas. I ride bicycle but drive a van less than 5000 miles a year and I guess that makes me some what hypocritical? The point I am making is we all are at different points in becoming green. It is work in progress.

    This type of living is really taking off. One of the workers at my job is retired now and living in a converted school bus. Solar is getting so cheap that most people that build a tiny house can have solar. Even the the weight is low now days and just fold out, For example the solar panels for the cargo ebike will be 150 watts and weigh 10-12 lbs and that can be mounted on the bike while I ride if I want to extend my range! Keep the great videos coming.

    • @duzer

    • @duzer
      @duzer  5 років тому +1

      They're pretty cool for sure, but yes, a big car is needed to transport them, but I'd say that most people don't travel with them, they just park them in place.

    At 5:29 you can see globular clusters in the milky way. There are about 150 known globular clusters in the Milky Way galaxy, according to Georgia State University's HyperPhysics website. Most are estimated to be at least 10 billion years old, and contain some of the oldest stars in the galaxy. If you look at the time listed above you can see some of the star clusters. You are very lucky to have very dark skies.

    Okaayyy, but caution about eating your Honey Bunches of Oats. FYI, "sugar" comes before "oats" in the ingredients list, and they've separated out "sugar" from "brown sugar" so it wouldn't be the first ingredient... add along with that all the corn syrup, separated from the malted corn syrup and the malted barley flour and the malted barley syrup... waaay down at the bottom of the list, just before the artificial flavour and caramel colourants... /there's/ your smidgeon of honey. Packaged with BHT-infused materials. www.fooducate.com/product/Post%20Honey%20Bunches%20Of%20Oats%20Honey%20Roasted/B1158B00-126E-11E0-BF92-FEFD45A4D471 I really worry about your diet, Ryan, what with all the nutella-smeared tortillas, chips, and other nutritionally-vacuous carbs. Dude, I know you're a bikerthonner and carbo-loading is a requirement, but where are your greenies and fruitses? Back porch of Zack's tiny house would be a great place for a mini-intensive veggie patch.

    • @duzer
      @duzer  5 років тому +1

      Mountain Sky i know, I know...that was special occasion food. When I’m home and not traveling, I eat healthy...I’ve never bought Nutella outside of a tour. I appreciate your concern, and yes, vegetable patch on the back of the tiny house is a great idea. Cheers buddy!

    Hard to ignore the irony. Preaching about carbon footprint, while driving a vehicle that gets 8 mpg, pulling a wood burning house that costs $272 per square ft. It is cute, would make a nice little office parked behind my 5 bedroom house (@$90 per sq ft). And I too somehow expected you to tow it behind a bike :)

    • @duzer
      @duzer  5 років тому +1

      I hear you about the truck, but it was a rental to do this specific job of getting the house from Boulder to Durango. I think what Zack is saying is that smaller, less resource heavy houses will help solve our carbon emission dilemma. And yes, next time I'll figure out how to tow it from my bike...but there may be a lot of Bean emissions from that adventure :)

    Hello, I am writing you to ask if you would consider helping me with a how to build a small shed like house for my daughter. She is in the middle of heart failure also she has colon cancer, and all she's ever wanted her own apartment. But because she's had 7 strokes she can't. But I would love to build her one of those little tiny house sheds. Though I'm not savy at building, and a few lumber yards are going to either sell me lumber at 1/2 the price or donate it I'm still honored that they've even done that. It would be an honor if you could find the time to help me or if you may know someone in or near Tulsa oklahoma that would. They've given her 6 months to a year so I don't have much time for this.

    Unfortunately, a tiny house also requires a big truck to haul it. Not very efficient.

    • @duzer
      @duzer  5 років тому

      most people don't haul them fulltime, they stay put for long periods of time

      @@duzer It may be more cost-efficient to rent a large truck when it's time to move the house.

    Someone else paid for it? This doesn't solve my housing problem.
