I'm one generation from the Appalachia's, my family had a Bluegrass band, I was their singer and played spoons. I'm almost 70 now, and a once close family has fallen apart. My Grandparents have long left us, my Dad went in "07, and my Mom only last month. It's so good to see this surviving.
Livin' is mostly wasting time, and I've wasted my share of mine (Townes Van Zandt), but watching this video was three minutes and 30 seconds of my life well spent.
I have listened to the Civil War era song Lily Dale many times. Years ago and for many years I did living history events and civil war reenactments. But I never heard this son before and it is just as lovely. I think I'll post it on my Facebook page to let friends hear you. You did a great job. Thank you.
Well done! I love the whole music scene around Floyd, VA and this is a good example of why so many people are drawn to your music. My only request would be that you guys showcase your vocals more. Raistlin and Jared harmonize nicely here, and we already know Margo can sing, so please consider featuring more vocals to complement your wonderful instrumental skills. Thanks for sharing!
Thought this was”Faded Love” for the first few bars of the intro! Lovely song, and well played! Margo on fiddle was a surprise-I guess this is the five minute moment before we turn around she’s playing like a pro!😂😂
@@drewby613 good ear! The song is very similar, and also we got this version of the tune from the same person (bob wills) who wrote faded love! Also believe it or not, I think Margo started on the fiddle. She’s just been getting more serious about it lately
@@raistlinbrabson No wonder they sound so much alike. I used to live in W Texas back in the day, and you heard Faded Love at almost every jam session. Now I haven’t heard it in years!! Loved this one, too, though! I did notice how good Margo’s intonation was, which isn’t usually the case with novice fiddlers. Now I get it. Between her previous experience plus her fretless banjo work, she’s no novice!
Hello everyone! And if I got here because of the algorithm that always offers us goooood music...Raistlin you have a very good voice! Do you consider yourself the leader of the band? haha... Lily Dale, what a great tune... When is a tour throughout America?Jared, Margo, Raistlin and Hannah! Greetings!😃

With the violin, Margot is more focused on the instrument than the banjo... ; -)
Thanks to the all band for the soulful performance!
It's a bit more sensitive than the banjo!
First time hearing you! Subscribed immediately 💕
