Baku is the capital of Azerbaijan, known as the "city of winds" because it is located on the shores of the Caspian Sea, where strong winds often blow.
The Old Town is a labyrinth of alleys, mosques, historical buildings, and remnants of fortifications, including the Shirvanshahs' Palace and the Maiden Tower, which is now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The vast 25-kilometer-long embankment will amaze you with its variety of original architectural structures.
For admirers of modern architecture, I recommend visiting the Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center to admire the elegance of its forms and smooth lines.
