Thanks for sharing your life with us, Dan. My mother is 91 and is in stage 7 of dementia. It's been about three years since she recognized me. The past year-and-a-half she's been unable to walk, double-incontinent, has to be spoonfed and sleeps 23+ hours a day. I miss my mother even though she's still here.
God bless you 🙏 even though your mother doesn't know right now but believe me she has a spot somewhere in her mind that remembers you and loves you. Its very hard taking care of someone you love but honey don't stop . Thank you for sharing with us.
I will never understand why some have to suffer so bad what this disease along with many others. Incredibly hard on the family and of course the patient like your mother. Peace.
@@cindifischer6919 Thanks for your comment. I've described my mother in her present condition as "alive but not living." I used to pray that she be healed. Now I'm praying that God take her home.
@@culturematters4157my FIL had dementia and one morning he had a heart attack and died with my husband present. We all/family consider him lucky that he didn't have to suffer any longer than he already did with that worthless disease. He was a husband, father to 11, a farmer who helped feed the world and he was a soldier/veteran that served this country, he was a great man and he is at peace. Peace to your mother and the best of you always ma'am.
Every minute is precious. I lost my dad 20 years ago. I just lost my mom she was 96, almost 97. It's so unreal not to hear their voice anymore. Enjoy all you can. Much love.
He always makes sure that the other person is involved in the conversation he’s so empathetic and kind. That’s what made him choose to be a doctor i guess ❤️❤️
Thank you Dan, Danielle and all family for sharing dementia with US… I’m a registered caregiver LLC in my state, & I’m so happy sharing & giving my mother your channel to help with my stepfather who experiences dementia. You’re another layer of hope and answers in a time of need. Thank you so MUCH! 🙏🏼
Enjoy him! He is a wonderful Dad and you’re a great son. Love all of you. 💕 I remember the day my Dad said to me, I don’t know what I’d do without you girls! I had 2 sisters, my Mom had passed and Dad was sick. He had tears in his eyes he didn’t want me to see. We treated him with the same love and respect he treated us with all of our lives. Sure miss him. Cherish your Dad Dan, we have them such a short time.❤️🤗
Couldn’t ask for a better night! Watching the opening game with your Dad & your dog. So glad to see you both enjoyed it. Baxter looked like he did too! ☺️🤭 I like elephants too, Ed! 🐘
Keep making these memories. I love seeing grandpa happy and thou he may slip away for a moment or two, he always comes back to make us smile. A beautiful upload.🙏❤️🙏
Good question. He cannot sit in my chair because it’s too difficult for him to get out and he can’t sit on the bed because it’s too high. We really do need to bring in a second heavier chair he can sit in.
I was thinking the same. Every time I see Ed sitting there, I felt that he must have been uncomfortable.. with no backrest. Good that Dan will be bringing in a recliner for him
Ed has his own money and he gets social security every month. He should have the top of the line lazy boy chair That they make all electrical. You're making a good income from your father. He should be deprived of nothing!!!! Oh, we're saving his money in case.he might have to go into a home That's why there's no shower chair. the toilet chair To prevent falls.... And let's not try to see if he might wear Hearing AIDS. Now.
@@dsalnorcal1434They make great "medical" lightweight but very comfy chairs on wheels you can easily put where you need them. Most of them recline too. When my husband had ALS we had one, so you can imagine they are comfortable for literally anyone, they can be raised and lowered. Sometimes a hard surface is good because mixing it up helps with alertness and preventing bed sores. That being said, my grandpa sure loved his recliner. One of those light-weight ones that you can raise and lower and wheel wherever you want it is the way to go. They have brakes on the wheels so they won't roll away.
I’m glad you can still do things with your sweet daddy. I lost mine in 2020 to Alzheimer’s disease. It is so sad to watch them go through that! Your dad is such a precious man! Enjoy every second you have with him! You are taking great care of him!
“Dumbo” is also my favorite!!! It’s so frustrating and discouraging when their mind “flips”. Maybe he thought the team would be there! He mentioned that earlier. ❤
What a Game!! I love you guy's together! Time.. the one thing you can never get back. My first football season without my husband he passed away suddenly in April..I will miss him.
I hear you Dan, my Dad and I always watched football together, he taught me everything about the game. My poor Dad only had girls, fortunate for him this daughter loves football. I miss him💜
It's all good..when the elephants appeared he got a little unfocused (before it was all football). You're doing a swell job and make sure not to neglect yourself Dan. May God Almighty give you renewed strength Dan....Your family is awesome.
Happy Saturday. How Wonderful. More You Learn Its A Bit Easier! Thank You. Every Time I Watch Your Interactions It Really Helps. Much Love And THANK YOU'S!
It never ceases to amaze me how thos disease just flips from one moment to the next! The brain is an amazing thing! Scary but amazing! Your doing great Dan!❤
He’s 92 and doing perfectly well, love how he enjoys watching the games and seeing animals 😊just mild dementia at times, he enjoys seeing his family happy and that makes him happy too.
I remember when my Dad had good day's and not so good day's. Moment's when my Dad was back to being my Dad. Then in a blink of an eye..total confusion again. It was terrible. Its like switching a light on and off.🙏❤
I don't know how he sits on that hard bench at his age. I can't and I'm 52. I do have multiple pain conditions though, so maybe normal people can do that even at 92? Grandpa is Simply Amazing❤

Exactly..his poor back needs support. Buy him a comfy chair out of his own money 💰
It’s not like he’s sitting there for hours. He just watched a little bit then went to bed.
