I am running a functional test right now because it says my machine was not getting cold enough. I see that you're said negative 27. I don't think mine has ever been that cold! That's awesome. I've probably only ran this thing 12 times. It took forever to even get it running! I wish I had not wasted my money on a freeze dryer. It has been nothing but a headache. Thanks for sharing this video. 😇
Thank you, I have not been able to even do my first run with bread yet, I finally got your video and can see that your unit has a lower vac reading just sitting than mine after 30 minutes vacuum pump running. With mine I can’t pull open the door due to the vacuum but it’s never reads below 72000 mTorr. Because of your video I know the no vacuum pressure reading. Thank you so much 😊
@@pandoraish I found that the vacuum sensor was leaking, use brake cleaner in a spray can. The sensor is not a vacuum sensor, it a thermoconductivity sensor, so having a chemical sprayed on leaks makes the torr level jump up. Good luck I’m on my 40th batch now.
I've been making a powdered extract from a mushroom tincture. The first couple batches went well. But this last one the freeze dryer ran for over 4 days and never completely dried the mushroom material. I was getting inadequate vacuum codes almost constantly. But could never figure out how to resolve it. I'm going to run the test today to find out where the problem is coming from
If it was an alcohol based tincture, the alcohol won't freeze enough to do a proper freeze drying cycle. If it's glycerin based, it's likely too oily, and oily things don't freeze dry.
Ran ours for 40+ minutes and pressure only got just under 700, and then went back up to 755. Temperature read 0F and trays were about 64F. Any ideas for troubleshooting this? We’ve never been able to use our freeze dryer. It’s getting really frustrating.
Sorry, I can't be much help. I haven't had any issues with mine. Sounds like an air leak. Try pulling the door seal out just a little, then close the door and make sure its a tight fit all the way around. That used to be a common problem, not sure if it still is. Try contacting support, see what they tell you.
I would say it would work fine. Our bedroom walls are not insulated, and with the door closed we can still hear the hummm but its not bad. If your going to use it in a room with a shared wall, the neighbor may here it a little, but that wall should be insulated so that would help.
@@DownGridSurvival completed the function test, and then the bread run burn and, now second day this morning doing pineapples strawberries Apples avocados and bananas, I can’t swear to the other pumps but we have the premium one and I can’t believe how quiet it is, to me actually the freeze dryer is a little louder than the pump, however I have mine set up in the living room temporarily, now for quietness I can be in our family room watching TV without any disturbance except maybe the sound of a large square breeze box fan, upstairs could not hear it in our bedroom, two bedroom apartment probably OK with the premium pump I cannot testify to the other pumps,
Yeah, on top of that, you have to pay shipping to have them work on your machine while in warranty! We just got ours 2 weeks ago and only ran the freeze function once when we set it up and did a test, and it does not work since then. I wish we would have purchased another brand
At 2:05, I don't understand how the tray temp can be 53 degrees when the chamber temp is -21. Please explain. Is it saying the heating pads under the trays are on and are creating the 53 degrees temp in a -21 degree environment?
All I can really say is the trays start to warm up first. The rack they sit on is heated, so the trays warm up before the icy chamber. Its the warming of the trays that releases the moisture and cold from the chamber that attracts the moisture. Kinda like moisture build up on windows when its cold inside and hot outside.
It's not. The temperature displayed under the Freeze button is the drop in temperature. 53 + 21 = 74 which was the room temperature at the start of the test. As soon as the switch is pushed it shows 0F. It didn't immediately drop to 0F as soon as the switch was pushed.
@@DownGridSurvival you might need to remake this video with the correct information, or at least add it as a comment to correct the misinformation in the video.
Forgive me BUT, watch a different video, as well. Down Grid FORGOT to mention to close off the drain valve prior to beginning the test? Mentions midstream without indicating the mistake prior? VERY sloppy and unhelpful. Now have to watch a different video to be certain of the procedure.

I'm having the same issue....the help desk has not gotten back to me yet. how did you resolve it?

What temp should the machine get down to in the 30 minute functional test?
I’m running the functional test and now vacuum but the temperature is going up not down. Yours says-27 mine is 58f
Do you need to close valve before the functionality test?

@@DownGridSurvival ok, thank you!
Have you gotten it figured out? I called harvest right support and had to get a appointment to speak with someone, in 4 days!
I’m at 12 mins and I’m still at 5400 mTorr
Our just came at 6 PM tonight, question I see you do not using a door pad, mine did not come with one or it’s missing I’ll have to call them tomorrow?
They no longer ship with the door pillows. They determined its not necessary.
How loud would you say this operates? Could you use it in an apartment for example?

How long does the vacuum test take
What do you suggest to do if you received a new unit a day ago, hooked it up and the compressor does not stay on. It doesnt freeze.
Wow after reading the comments this product must have alot of doa problems
