One of the best performances ever! It was so PERFECT in every way! And just my personal opinion, the crowd just was not as appreciative as they should have been. That was a priceless show.
@@rafthegoat Even if they did miss that first note, he's still amazing. I'm so impressed he can do the whole Four Seasons and not have to read the music, he just memorized it and does it so well and with a lot of care and passion
I am very happy you enjoyed this performance. This was my final performance as a conductor and your comment makes me happy. Thank you very much. Please subscribe to my channel (if you haven't already) and tell your friends. I will be adding much more of my past recordings, and some new trombone classes, and past projects linked with video. Thanks again. Michael
I've seen so many performances of the Four Seasons on youtube and this is for me the best. Stephan is masterful in this performance and brings out all the beauty of Vivaldi's incredible work. The First movement of Winter is especially magical.
I hope everyone will enjoy this exceptional performance by Stephen Waarts. Please let us know what you think. Please subscribe to our channel. Back in the days when I published them, UA-cam limited the length of videos first to 7 minutes, then 15 minutes. That is why they are divided into parts. He was great at age 12 and he is fabulous now.
This young musician makes me feel emotional when I watch concert ,meaning that is obviously he is very talented to bring up sensitiveness ,beauty of this concerto , I am very much enjoying watching the concert !! Thank you Mr Gibson
What an incredible performance by this boy. He was deeply involved in the music and put on a fine rendition of this. Notice his own little touches here and there. He received far less acclaim than he should have. What a superb job of it. He certainly earned his prize in the contest if he played like he did in this case. Fine job it is. Just beautiful performance. Most enjoyable. You have a wonderful orchestra. There should be many more postings.
Thank you for listening and submitting your great comment. I am very happy that you enjoyed the performance. You are right, Stephen gave an incredible performance. He is an amazing musician and he will go far.
Thanx Stephen, that you were in the Netherlands in my hometown to play Paganini in the Provincie-house with the Philharmonie Zuid Nederland (south netherlands) .............so i enjoy also here your exceptional performance and many thanx for the musical gift! Hope you will be soon in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam with your amazing technic and performance.
Man, this really brings be back. When I was in middle school I had my violin lessons with the same teacher he had, right after him. He would play at our local talent show hosted at our neighborhood high school as well. I've seen many great violinists, but very few that have made me feel the way Stephen's music made me feel. It's almost ethereal. Rather than floating in the clouds it feels like skating on the breeze itself. Absolutely amazing. Envy cannot describe how much I wish I could express myself the way he can.
dearest maestro! How wonderful to be able to enjoy your extraordinary performance with such a talented charming young man with such a great talent and will to put in all those hours to fulfill his talent. Michael, you have always been a big inspiration to me. And I keep this inspiration in my heart during all my own projects all the way across the big ocean! Sending you many thanks and strength for all your future endeavors! Looking forward to more such beautiful videos!
I will do, I also have 3 classic musician sons, we have The Alexander Piano Trio, I am pretty familiar with all these classic strings and piano repertories.

What a lovely performance. So beauty and clean. I really enjoy the simple expressions of his natural face unlike the super fake Asian versions Great Great Stephen Waarts
I am so glad you enjoyed the performance and agree with you 100%. Stephen Waarts is brilliant! His mind is the most powerful I have ever encountered. At age 12 he memorized the entire Tchaikovsky concerto in about a month and never once used any sheet music at rehearsals - that continued with the next 6 concerti we performed with him, including the Vivaldi. He had just won 1st Prize in the Senior Division of the 2014 Menuhin Competition and the Bach Prize and the Composer’s Prize on March 13, 2004. After that he learned the Four Seasons and performed it with us both on May 16th, and this performance on May 17, 2014. We had very limited rehearsal time because of Stephen's performances at Curtis Institute of Music and around the world during this time. He is amazing!!! You can see what he is doing now on his website: stephenwaarts.com/biography/
