    A joy to watch as always! And can I say that your faces while doing your hair were PERFECTION! I felt every one of them in my soul! I am not skilled with hair. And my efforts in that arena are often the stuff of slapstick comedy. I thought you were brilliant! Cannot wait for the rest of these. 👋 TTFN

      This was one of my favorite comments of all time! Thank you! I was worried I was keeping too many faces in the video, but I figured that was the most relatable part of the video :D

      Oh my goodness, that song is so good! Evan and I start singing it all the time! It's a vicious cycle of us getting it into each other's head so it's just constantly lingering. And thank you!

    Thankyou so much for this video I was given both books for Christmas and I love them so love your approach to all this, it's hard to know where to start I'm not great with sewing or working patterns out but I will make a whole outfit one day ....I will , I will , I will. XXX

      You've got this, Debbie! Working with gridded patterns can be a bit difficult, but a lot of 18th Century was draped so that might help you. I would say start simply. I have a little series all about making the undergarments, starting with the shift and working outward. It might help you build up confidence!

      Hahaha that sounds familiar! I've been pretty much doing my hair the same way since fourth grade, which is half-up, half-down. I have three hairstyles and that's pretty much it.

    I’ve now lost count of my Hamilton viewings! Favorite songs tend to to go between Satisfied and Burn. Your hair turned out amazing! Looking forward to your review of the rouge. I’ve got both American Duchess books and was going to start with the rouge.

      I know for a fact that if this had come out a few years ago when I was working late evenings shifts part-time and had the TV all to myself, I'd be watching this on a loop :D
      This might be a spoiler, but I think the rouge was one of the easier recipes to make. It was time consuming in the long run, but pretty straight forward. :)

    I think it turned out wonderful! As for watching Hamilton, a friend made a suggestion and I found it so useful. Turn on the subtitles before watching it! It will help you catch lines that fly by so quickly that you only understand a word here and there. Confession: I listen to Hamilton's soundtrack way too many times to admit (it's on my spotify favorites) and saw the play. I didn't realize that in the song 'Satisfied' that she was singing the word rewind until I read it thanks to the subtitles.

    • @HattoHem
      @HattoHem  4 роки тому

      I actually haven't watched it with the subtitles yet. I had to watch one of those lyric videos on UA-cam to even get close to understanding what Lafayette is rapping in Guns and Ships. The speed they sing/rap is amazing!!!

    I did watch Hamilton but I am wanting to watch it again. I liked Jefferson's entrance song the best so far. Congrats on the successful hairstyling! It looked great! I was wondering how Irish dancers ended up at the even't you attended? Thanks!

      That song is so good! I love how it's a slightly different style to show that he's out of touch because of how long he was in France. Thank you! It was actually an Irish themed event so it kinda made sense in context :D

    Hi Melissa,
    I love American Duchess shoes. I only have one pair, but maybe soon.
    I haven’t watched Hamilton. I’ve listened to it millions of times thanks to my daughter. It’s not my thing.
    My hair naturally parts in the center.
    Review not a tutorial. I get that.
    Last piece, while looking a bit like a fraggle.
    It looks nice.
    Hair training is a thing. You’re starting.
    Congrats on finishing it.
    I’m glad your hair held up.
    See you next time.

      If you have Disney+ I think it's worth watching at least once. I drove my parents (and Evan) to a family wedding last year and since I was driving, I took the opportunity to force my captive audience to listen to Hamilton start to finish. My parents were surprised that once they gave it a serious listen, they liked it and they were following the whole story and talking about it! I was a proud daughter that day!

    • @autumn7143

      I have Disney+. Right now, I’m just not interested. I’ve heard all of the music many times. I love musicals. I’m just not into Hamilton. I might watch it later. I’m just not interested at the moment.

    I'm with you in that my favorite Hamilton song tends to be whichever one I'm listening to at the moment. I find having it on Disney+ is a trap because I may say to myself I'm only going to rewatch one part but then I'm like Oo! And this one! And this other one! And before you know it three hours have passed and I could've watched the show from start to finish :D
    I liked the vid. I can't imagine how tired your arms must've been at the end of it! So when you say shampoo on dry hair first is that because the powder and pomade would react badly to the water if you rinsed before washing?

    • @HattoHem
      @HattoHem  4 роки тому

      RIGHT?! It's a real problem! I wanted to watch Helpless and Satisfied, and I ended up watching through to Guns and Ships! I only stopped because it was time to make dinner!
      My understanding is that it doesn't react well with just water. I wasn't willing to test that theory though.

      @@HattoHem I'm not saying I've been late to bed because I got sucked in to watching Hamilton again but I'm not not saying it either ;) And I don't blame you. I'd be happy to let somebody else test that out too ;)
