Got my G70 delivered about 2 months now.. Let me tell you. No car turns heads like this does. The power is amazing, features on point and the interior is class... Don't be influenced by what other think simply because it is not German. Did I mention also comes with a 15 speaker -800 watt lexicon audio system? Test drive one, you'll see for yourself

And I have no idea why ... they make great cars. I bought a Hyundai in 2006, and it burbled along for 260,000 miles with no drama until a texting teen rammed it on the driver side door. The SRS worked perfectly at 11 yrs old. I certainly was not expecting that kind of service life when I bought it.

Only thing I don't like are some of the decisions made with the exterior. Those front turn signals look they were pulled right from another Hyundai model. And why on earth would they cheap out and use incandescent bulbs for the rear signals and reverse lamps?? It can't POSSIBLY be saving them much to do that, especially when you see Kia using LEDs all around. Also, I gotta disagree with Sofyan on the wheels. I think the 19s on the 2.0 look much more sporty. Would be cool if they offered the option to choose which wheels you want like the European brands generally offer. Still, looks like a good car, even though I'll most likely lean more towards a Stinger due to the larger cargo capacity and flexibility offered with the hatch.

If Consumer Reports is correct, Genesis is making highest quality cars, highest luxury for the money, highest reliability, and highest customer satisfaction. I can't speak based on personal knowledge of owning one, but if I were in the market for a 40-60K luxury car, I would consider one.

Infiniti is trash, genesis not only has the better drive and quality, but they take care of their customers. In my three year lease I don’t have to pay for ANY maintenance (including oil changes and such) also when it’s time to take it to the shop they have a valet bring me a loaner and they take mine never even having to step one foot in the shop. NO ONE in this price range does that

My Genesis top of the line 2.2T was delivered end of April. I can tell you how happy I’ve been driving this beauty. I was asked at least 3 times if this is a Bentley and my answer as always is, I can’t afford a Bentley. People literally stop to ask what kind of car I’m driving so that tells you the look is there. I have owned Lexus ES300 or 350 which I replaced with Infiniti Q60 (which I still have) and no one ever said, “what a beautiful car”. Sorry, they said that about Q60 as well but not as frequent as the comment I received so far on G70. I had no problems with the first two and so far, I have had no issues with this one either. Does it drive well? Definitely. All I can say is, I feel safe on the road and that’s what counts to me. I also like the fact that I can switch to different modes. Thank you Genesis.

It’s gorgeous! I saw a Stinger a few months ago for the first time in person and it’s a beautiful machine. You have to see them in person to really appreciate them even before leaving nasty comments on UA-cam of “But it’s only a Hyundai or Only a Kia”.
Genesis is the luxury brand of Hyundai and Stinger is the performance brand of Kia.
Same people leaving nasty comments forget that Acura is really Honda and Infinity is Nissan. Hell, even Lexus is a Toyota whereas Volkswagen owns Audi and Bentley among others so before yapping off about a car’s brand name, understand the company behind it. Lol

      @ビップレクサス 6 років тому +16

Alphonsus Ho The problem with "Its a Hyundai" comment is that its still very true. As mentioned in the video - it still shares tons of Hyundai equipment. It uses a Hyundai infotainment system at the 50K price range... Infiniti, Acura and Lexus + all the German competition have their own luxury department infotainment system. Until Genesis get up to speed and separates themselves from Hyundai more - its justified to say its a Hyundai.
Until then - no one is paying 50K plus for a Hyundai. At 50K range - people will still be looking at Germans and Japanese.

Remember that Hyundai now has a very strong team behind their brands. They poached Audi’s designer, several engineers from BMW including the Biermann who was head of the M division, and they outsource suspension tuning from lotus.

Sean Hoffman I believe they consulted lotus engineering for suspension tuning for the first generation Genesis. Lotus engineering does a lot of work for the auto industry. For example the corvette zr1 etc etc. nothing new there. For this Genesis, their tuning was done in-house. They even designed and built their own 8 speed auto instead of farming it out to ZF like many other manufacturers.

Another AWESOME Video- TY TY TY !!!!
I just had the 3.3TT version for 2.5 days and the sun was shining with ZERO rain. I live in Vancouver & am a car guy.
Here are the 3 negatives: (a) The back seat doesn't accommodate anyone over 5'9" for a journey lasting over 30 minutes. (b) The long term reliability and trade-in value is a HUGE question mark (c) the vectoring is brake applied to the inside wheel- Lots of grabbing going on during spirited driving.
Now, onto the Positives - EVERYTHING ELSE!!
This handles like a go cart (it is a Compact car) the steering wheel feels right, the turning radius is one of the best, It has 5 ride selections, the tech is in abundance, the seats can be sporty or comfy, that engine - torque & HP is ample (4.7 seconds from 0-60), the sight-lines are excellent, HUD displays whats needed, the adaptive cruise works really well, the 15 speaker Lexicon sound system is very good.
I can go on and on.
The summary is this- If you want a Value filled 4 door vehicle that looks great, has an AWESOME interior, is quick & fast when u want it to be, has the latest tech and your mother-in-law will like it too b/c in comfort mode it drives very smoothly then this is a big contender vs the Germans, Japanese and maybe Cadillac.
Its an all in price for the 3.3TT V-6 of $57,500 Cdn.
Book a test drive and see for yourself. Excellent compact 4 door sedan and if u enjoy assertive driving try the 3.3TT. Too much fun!!
Also, the personal touch and customer service is a huge marketing advantage for them.
    Cheers from Vancouver, Canada!!

Wow! This is a huge improvement. I never would've guessed Hyundai was going to get this far. They really turned this whole company around. They really seem to be focusing a lot on sedans for the genesis brand though. I'm assuming for overseas markets. They really need a SUV for the U.S market though. I'm not complaining though. I like traditional sedans. Really excited to see what else they bring to the table in the coming years.

Hyundai is concentrating their strength on genesis. The reason they seperated genesis with hyundai is because their future goal is to compete with audi, bmw. I am korean and i didnt like hyundai but past 2 years my thought changed. . genesis is improving in a ultra speed and i can feel that when i ride... hyundai is using Article 100 every year only on genesis... so much money using on genesis . . They also made a 10year contract with bmw, audi engineers and giving the engineers so much money to share core technologys.. every year genesis will get better and better. I have no doubt that genesis will become one of the best brand in future

I bought the 2019 Genesis G70 last month in it's Mallorca blue colour and it is possibly the best purchase I have ever bought money-wise. It has more than everything I need for a daily driver and it receives many compliments on a daily basis from strangers I meet at work, gas stations, streets and parking lots. The front seats are comfortable for long drives and ventilated which are quiet useful in hot weather. The back seats have enough room for two or three adults in terms of leg-room. It is very quiet on the road. The interior feels very high class and luxurious - I personally feel it looks slightly better than the G80 interior. It is absolutely the best sports luxury sedan released in 2018. Overall, it is a stunning car! I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and I am looking forward to the SUV models coming up in 2019!

I don’t care what anyone says but these Japanese and Korean brands are getting better and will eventually be up there with the European brands or better, heck Lexus is already up there with them, they just need to add more power to their cars, then there is the new Supra coming out, Acura needs some work but the NSX does a wonderful job in competing with European brands and do I really need to mention the GTR

This is a great start for Genesis as a brand right now. Granted I don’t know if this will really impact German sales or their badge whores, but this will affect the Japanese. For the price point of this car, it’s extremely good for the value and power the car delivers and really like Sofyan said, what else competes with this much stuff for that price. The Q50 Red Sport may have more power but it will easily run you over 60 grand and other than the hp the car is a joke for what your paying for. The Lexus Is350 F Sport doesn’t have enough power to rival this and again will max out at about 52-55 grand. Lastly, the Acura TLX A-Spec doesn’t stand a chance and right now Acura is the real joke here tbh. At least Genesis is daring by offering a 6 speed manual with an lsd and Brembo Brakes and it shows how much they care about the buyer. For the price you won’t find anything that truly out rivals this and yes the Germans may be better for some people, but your easily paying 20 grand more for the same specs of this G70. Give it a chance people and stop trying to hate on a car that offers so much for what you are paying because this to me looks like it’s worth it anyway. My two cents peace

With gas prices climbing again, I don’t think crossovers will stay on top. All genesis needs are hybrid variants of their sedans and they should be fine. And you’re totally right, the TLX is kinda a joke right now. Acura as a brand needs complete rejuvenation if it wants to be competitive.

Videos just don’t do it justice!!! My lease on my Nissan Maxima is expiring soon so I’m still currently shopping and this car is miles and miles ahead of the maxima in terms of refinement, comfort, speed, etc etc the list goes on and on. The salesman I was with was relatively new with only 4 months experience selling cars so I actually knew more about the car than he did. I followed sofyans instructions on launch control and my GOODNESS I was thrown into the seat!!! The salesman was like THATS ENOUGH WERE GOING BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP!! LOL.
The amount of features that even the BASE 3.3T trim comes with is insane for the money.... cooled seats, impressive sound system, lane keep assist, smart cruise control, auto braking w/ pedestrian detection, without any packages unlike the competition. I am very very impressed with genesis.

I had an Alfa Romeo Giulia QV for 45 years and never had a single problem except that time the piston shot through the engine block, aside from that though no issues. Oh, also another time the transmission literally fell from the bottom of the car on the highway but again, no issues with it. I also had a scenario where the car just spontaneously combusted while idiling for 10 seconds in my driveway, thankfully a Hyundai dealer was walking home and had a portable fire extinguisher to put out the fire. With that being said, my Alfa has been 100% reliable with no issues since 1907 when I bought it new from Ulysses S. Grant.

If so, I really need to watch more videos of these types of cars. Even at $51k, that will still be less than a comparably equipped BMW 340i. I think the biggest issue will be people getting use to the Genesis name. Same situation with people accepting the Kia name on the Stinger GT. I don't think it will hurt German car sales, but I think this car should be on everyone's list to look at if shopping for a sport sedan.

The Q50 chassis can't handle the Red Sports power? The car is simply under-tired from the factory due to its standard run-flats. Major blunder on Infiniti, but the Q50 is a capable car with the wrong tires. Many owners have stated there is a huge difference when the car has proper tires.

I personally drive a G37 6-Spd, and I love it. But I have had a few loaner Q50s. I think Infiniti definitely aimed to make it an overall more refined car, but from my observations vs. my G37, it feels more buttoned down and felt more capable. I was able to take a fast curve on my commute to work a little quicker than in my G and it felt more composed. While the G feels more fun on that turn, it was going slower and felt closer to the limits of the car. And this loaner Q50 was not a sport model, though it did have optional 19" wheels. The complaint these reviewers had about the G was it felt unrefined, now that Infiniti refined it, people talk about missing the raw nature of the G. Rock and a hard place. But like I said the factory tire choice along with a lack of LSD on the RS400 have been a blunder to the Q50s reputation in the auto press. I haven't driven a DAS car so I won't comment on that.

    • @blexy350

Dedrean Dixon I drive a G37x 7AT and have driven a 2014-2015 Q50 3.7 Premium and 2018 Q50S 3.0TT (300HP). I love my G, it makes me smile each and every day, it is a very fun car to drive too. I agree, the Q50 feels much more planted, I feel more of a “roll” with my G. I agree, I feel like Infiniti gave what some wanted but now complaining that it may be “too much”. I have driven a Q50 with DAS, personally I like it. It is a HUGE difference from the G though. Very little effort steering with DAS versus the effort needed when driving the G. In Sport+ mode, DAS stiffens a little but not as much as some would like it. For me, when driving with DAS, I did enjoy the little effort to make a lane change or turn but at times I did like the stiffer feel to it like the G. It certainly is not a deal breaker to me.

I've never really looked into Genesis, but this is actually nice. I completely slept on this brand.

I just picked up a 3.3 T dynamic edition, used, Havana red. . absolutely love the car. It’s an impressive balance of performance and luxury. Highly recommend you at least take one out for a test drive.

I do the pre-delivery inspections on all our Genesis vehicles at my dealership. The 3.3 twin-turbo engine is fucking powerful. Put your foot down and before you know it you're already going 80mph. This thing is quick!!!! Genesis cars are pretty nice too.

LOL I agree I had to laugh at what you said because it is true "It's a shame that the Japanese can't build anything like this yet." I completely agree. I think Genesis is going to surpass Lexus. Lexus is too tame and forget Infiniti, they are falling behind. The South Koreans are building great cars these days, I would say on par with the Germans. I would like to see better infotainment options though.

Great review overall but I would disagree with you, Sofyan, on the G70 interior being class-leading. How is the G70 class interior "Class-leading" without digital gauges? Without a big center screen? Without virtual cockpit like features to put navigation onto the gauges? Lack of customization of gauges? AI Tech - Amazon Alexa or Hey Mercedes in the C300? Without a unique Genesis brand infotainment system? This is all before the insane luxury features inside German cars too.
These are the things holding the interior back. I'm sorry - the Genesis isn't class-leading. Its a good drivers-car but that's about it.

Stance Lyfe The Mercedes and Audi do have even nicer cabins, we don’t disagree with you there. However, the Benz and Audi can easily cost $10,000-$20,000 more expensive and for what Genesis offers for the money, it’s cabin is better than the Japanese offerings and nearly matches the Germans for far less money.

@Redline Reviews Oh my god. Sofyan replied to me. #fangirling. I'm a big fan of your reviews. Keep it up! Agreed. For the MB C300 - it can easily cost more by sticker price (but I believe right now you can have a C300 for 50-55 OTD). However - for the Audi A4, I believe the prices are pretty close. You suggested the 3.3T Genesis will be 51K loaded sticker. The Audi A4 prestige is 52K loaded sticker. Looking at it like that - I can't see how the Genesis will offer near German luxury for less money. I feel like the Genesis G70 shouldn't break over 50K for being such a young and new brand.

    • @ishanbose7161
      @ishanbose7161 6 років тому

Stance Lyfe the 3.3t has a lot more power than a 4 cylinder A4 but you’re right that the interior on the A4 is definitely better

    • @ビップレクサス

rupasree bose I was specifically replying to Soyfan's "class-leading interior comment". I don't believe the Genesis is class leading.
True. The Audi A4 is slower than the 3.3T by a full second. However - at the 50K price point - people don't care about the performance. Badge will weigh heavily.

And i doubt you own any German luxury cars, Or even japanese luxury. You prolly drive a fucking Geo. You bum. Fakeass
