Ha! I will scrutinize mid range and high end palettes to the nth degree. I don't buy unless the color story fits the bill and the brands themselves tout the palettes as super good quality so I totally expect that the palettes will pay my bills and water my crops for that price 😂

I 100% agree with you on the Zendo palette. So many people were raving about it but I ended up returning it. The quality wasn’t there compared to her other palettes.

I was disappointed more often than not with ColourPop eyeshadow quality this year with certain releases. I agree about the Powerpuff Girls Collab, and I was extremely disappointed by the quality of the NBC palette. I didn't mind that the color story didn't match the movie, I just wanted it for the nostalgia. It's now just a beautiful piece of packaging in my collection. I was able to try my first Natasha Denona palette this year, I picked it up on sale at Sephora during one of their sales. I was blown away by the quality and it's now a staple in my collection. Great ranking system, super helpful and informational!

Really love how you've organised your reviews. I feel like the quality of makeup has gone up so much in the past couple of years that a lot of palettes have become 'likes' but not 'loves'. I totally agree with your ranking on Huda Beauty Mercury Retrograde palette, I bought it as an impulsive whim and I did not expect to love it as much as I do. I would also recommend you try Huda's nude obsessions palettes, i have both the light and medium version and are totally worth it.

I had my third little one this year and every new addition to the family is so fun and so much work! 💜 my favorite palette this year was the huda naughty nudes! I’m shocked by that palette because when it released I didn’t give it a second look but the way it behaves and looks in person is insanely beautiful! I don’t have a ND palette yet but have had my eye on the bronze, glam, and retro and trying to pick which I would get next year!

I tried Colourpop for the first time this year when they released the Tinker Bell collection. And that was totally my favorite palette this year! I also loved the super shock shadows and blushes too 🥰
I love the way you put these in categories! So helpful. This year I bought the Charlotte Tilbury exaggerates quad. I’d been loving quads and smaller palettes this year and this is a perfect everyday palette.

I love the Mercury Retrograde too. It’s so soft and beautiful. I as well got it on sale. I was just scoping out Sephora app and saw it and jumped on it. I keep seeing/hearing about the Retro Palette, ah I can’t even begin to express how bad I want it. I was loving Tiny Marvels Sydney Grace and Mel Thompson. The palette is everything.

I finally ordered Mercury Retrograde after hearing you talk about it so much and it's on sale at Sephora right now 🥰 I'm so excited to try it. My favorite palette this year was probably the ND Circo Loco palette. I just reached for it so much and made a variety of beautiful looks. I didn't pay full price and I would if I had to replace it.
I enjoy retrograde. I got it a couple weeks ago on sale plus 20% off on top of the sale. I am not always into pinks but I do enjoy this one. I would recommend a glitter glue though for the shimmery shades.

I only bought 3 palettes this year: melt she’s in parties, colourpop so very lovely and sailor moon palette. I still love wearing browns and golds eyeshadows but, I have enjoyed wearing other colors in 2021. You did a Best Berries palette a couple of years ago, I would love to know if your updated opinions on that. I don't have many high end palettes but, I was able to buy a used Norvina 5 (I sanitized it) and OH MY goodness now I see the love for their purple eyeshadow! I got the Mercury Retrograde palette during the last VIB sale and I have fallen in love with it. I've gotten compliments on my eye looks when I use this and I love how versatile is. I do find a glitter glue is necessary for the glittery shades, but I'm not mad. I got the Rose Quarts palette yesterday (thanks to Sephora credit card reward money) and can't wait to dive into it.

I love watching eyeshadow videos! Application, ranking, decluttering, etc. in fact, watching these videos this past year has caused me to get back into makeup after a 20 (ack!) year hiatus (and I wasn’t big into makeup in my teens or early 20s). This past year however, I am just having so much fun with makeup! I have bought quite a few pallets but I am trying to be fiscally responsible… it’s so hard!!! There are so many beautiful pallets out there - even in the drugstore world - and the costs do add up… so so fast. I love That’s Taupe for a neutral look, Space (from docolor) for my blues, and Galaxy chic (BH) for fun colorful shimmers. I think I would list those as my favorites at this point in time.
I just recently got into eyeshadow and I’ve been using the dior backstage eye shadow pallete in warm neutrals! It’s not very pigmented but it blends super easy and very buildable which helps a beginner like me!
I’ve slowed down this year when it came to buying makeup especially pallets, there are so many out there , so many choices that’s it’s hard to decide which is worth it. Videos like this make it so much easier to choose.
I love how you tried so many different brands of eyeshadow, and that your love its included some drugstore and higher end brands! Really shows that brands can make a great formula at any price. I agree that your 3 categories were very helpful instead of placing a number ranking on every palette.
I agree that high end or expensive makeup has a higher standard. This year I tried a couple new brands that I consider high end and they didn’t work for me and it was kind of sad. I do love how honest you are about the products you try and that you don’t push us to try things just because you like them
I love eyeshadow and your eyeshadow videos are the best! I don’t have the ND bronze or retro palettes bc of the price but I hear you talk about bronze so much and I’m so curious! I’d say the best palette I got this year was Lorac Noir when it was half price at Ulta. I think it stood out because of what a surprise it was to me. No one seems to talk about Lorac shadows anymore and this palette is seriously good, especially the mattes. Very pigmented yet easy to blend. I get a lot of compliments when I use it which surprises me because the looks are very neutral and I wouldn’t expect anyone to even notice it.
I got the Mercury Retrograde palette on sale too and I'm so obsessed. Totally my favorite I purchased this year! Thank you for sharing your rankings. Love the way you organized it.
I was on a palette no buy in 2021, but I did use my Optimum Points to grab the UD Naked Wild West palette. It’s my first ever Naked Palette, and I love it so much!
Yes! I got so excited seeing the huda beauty retrograde ranked so highly. I just got it recently during the sale also, and am excited to play with the colours. My favourite palette this year was her nude obsessions palette (light). The retro palette looks really romantic, I love pinks and purples, so I totally get why it would be your favourite!
I think my favorite palette of the year is the Patrick Ta for sure! I picked up a number of ND minis and I've loved those as well. I have been eyeing the midi Retro for a while, so that's next on my list!

I recently started experimenting with eyeshadow this past year. I use to never use eyeshadow because I didn’t know what I was doing. This was a great video to watch!
I totally agree that if you pay a high price for a palette you can expect a better quality. I like that higher end palettes ended in the leave-it category for that reason, because I have to be picky with what I buy, and if a high price palette doesn't perform as well, it's not worth it to me. That bronze palette has been on my wishlist forever, partially because of you, but it's a big step for me to actually buy it. We'll see if I ever take the plunge.

I just started getting into eyeshadow the last few months! I get overwhelmed with bigger palettes so I was sticking to quads or single shadows . But I’d love to try the variety of a bigger palette!

I only bought 3 palettes this year: melt she’s in parties, colourpop so very lovely and sailor moon palette. I was so tempted to try ND’s retro palette but the price is just out of my budget😭 I definitely enjoy she’s in parties tho. It’s my first time trying the brand and it’s absolutely amazing!

I'm far from done and it's Really Old (I don't even know the name), but I learned so much about eyeshadow and myself from doing PTP.

Totally agree with your ranking and following your lead, I haven't picked up the Zendo palette. I remember on yur video how difficult it was to blend out the dark green. Yes, I think the higher price tag should buy you some pretty flawless blending! I'm happy to see that you liked the Huda Mercury Retrograde! I still love wearing browns and golds eyeshadows but, I have enjoyed wearing other colors in 2021. You did a Best Berries palette a couple of years ago, I would love to know if your updated opinions on that. I don't have many high end palettes but, I was able to buy a used Norvina 5 (I sanitized it) and OH MY goodness now I see the love for their purple eyeshadow! I was addicted to the Colourpop Malibu Barbie palette during the summer time. I agree that the quality is a step up. I wish all their eyeshadows were consistently that good!

I got the Mercury Retrograde palette during the last VIB sale and I have fallen in love with it. I've gotten compliments on my eye looks when I use this and I love how versatile is. I do find a glitter glue is necessary for the glittery shades, but I'm not mad. I got the Rose Quarts palette yesterday (thanks to Sephora credit card reward money) and can't wait to dive into it.

I love watching eyeshadow videos! Application, ranking, decluttering, etc. in fact, watching these videos this past year has caused me to get back into makeup after a 20 (ack!) year hiatus (and I wasn’t big into makeup in my teens or early 20s). This past year however, I am just having so much fun with makeup! I have bought quite a few pallets but I am trying to be fiscally responsible… it’s so hard!!! There are so many beautiful pallets out there - even in the drugstore world - and the costs do add up… so so fast. I love That’s Taupe for a neutral look, Space (from docolor) for my blues, and Galaxy chic (BH) for fun colorful shimmers. I think I would list those as my favorites at this point in time.
I just recently got into eyeshadow and I’ve been using the dior backstage eye shadow pallete in warm neutrals! It’s not very pigmented but it blends super easy and very buildable which helps a beginner like me!
I’ve slowed down this year when it came to buying makeup especially pallets, there are so many out there , so many choices that’s it’s hard to decide which is worth it. Videos like this make it so much easier to choose.
I love how you tried so many different brands of eyeshadow, and that your love its included some drugstore and higher end brands! Really shows that brands can make a great formula at any price. I agree that your 3 categories were very helpful instead of placing a number ranking on every palette.
I agree that high end or expensive makeup has a higher standard. This year I tried a couple new brands that I consider high end and they didn’t work for me and it was kind of sad. I do love how honest you are about the products you try and that you don’t push us to try things just because you like them

I love eyeshadow and your eyeshadow videos are the best! I don’t have the ND bronze or retro palettes bc of the price but I hear you talk about bronze so much and I’m so curious! I’d say the best palette I got this year was Lorac Noir when it was half price at Ulta. I think it stood out because of what a surprise it was to me. No one seems to talk about Lorac shadows anymore and this palette is seriously good, especially the mattes. Very pigmented yet easy to blend. I get a lot of compliments when I use it which surprises me because the looks are very neutral and I wouldn’t expect anyone to even notice it.

I was on a palette no buy in 2021, but I did use my Optimum Points to grab the UD Naked Wild West palette. It’s my first ever Naked Palette, and I love it so much!

Yes! I got so excited seeing the huda beauty retrograde ranked so highly. I just got it recently during the sale also, and am excited to play with the colours. My favourite palette this year was her nude obsessions palette (light). The retro palette looks really romantic, I love pinks and purples, so I totally get why it would be your favourite!

I think my favorite palette of the year is the Patrick Ta for sure! I picked up a number of ND minis and I've loved those as well. I have been eyeing the midi Retro for a while, so that's next on my list!

I totally agree that if you pay a high price for a palette you can expect a better quality. I like that higher end palettes ended in the leave-it category for that reason, because I have to be picky with what I buy, and if a high price palette doesn't perform as well, it's not worth it to me.
That bronze palette has been on my wishlist forever, partially because of you, but it's a big step for me to actually buy it. We'll see if I ever take the plunge.

I just started getting into eyeshadow the last few months! I get overwhelmed with bigger palettes so I was sticking to quads or single shadows . But I’d love to try the variety of a bigger palette!

I agree 110% that when eyeshadow palettes are so expensive that they are an investment, I definitely expect them to perform above and beyond! To fork over my hard-earned money on something that is meh is a huge no-no for me.
