“A gizzard is a muscle found in the digestive tract of a chicken. If you've ever seen chickens pecking away at the ground, they are in fact swallowing tiny bits of grit and gravel, which travels through the chicken's digestive tract and eventually lodges in the gizzard. Then when actual food arrives, this powerful little muscle contracts, like a tiny fist squeezing a handful of gravel. The gravel grinds up the food, and the food continues on into the stomach.” Found that online in case you wanted to know lol. Can’t wait to make these treats!
Oh also...I do think you can eat them. Here’s my source “Chicken gizzards are a popular food throughout the world. You can find them sold as street food in Haiti and Southeast Asia and in soup in Mexico. In Africa, they're served fried, boiled, or grilled, and in Europe, they're featured in salads and pâtés.” www.thespruceeats.com/all-about-chicken-gizzards-4038452
This is insane!!! Just 20 minutes ago I was thinking about what type of treats a raw fed ferret could eat!! I was binging Instagram and looking at raw feeding accounts but still didnt really know what would be considered a treat so this is *perfectly* timed! Thank you :>
Great video as always!!!!!! I’m excited to share with you that my long search to adopt a fur baby or two has finally ended. I am now a ferret mom to my little boy Salem and my little girl Tsuki and they’re settling in wonderfully. Thanks for being my inspiration to adopt again and the confidence to be the greatest ferret mom. Your info and inspiration is a much valued guidance to me. Cheers!
Loved the video! I will be trying this out. 👍😁 I have recently found freeze dried hearts at my raw grind food place but making them dehydrated would be much cheaper. Thanks so much for this!
Love this video, gonna try this at home rather than buying freeze dried meat as you ya gonna be cheaper. Origen treats a lot of them have tons of liver in especially the tundra variety. You did an amazing job and prefer you to all the other ferret you tubers.
Hi! I love ur vids and i know i'm commenting kinda late, but i'm thinking of getting ferrets and I want to feed them raw but dont want to mess up on franken prey. So i was wondering where do you get your grinds cause i have been looking at many websites and cant seem to find good quality grinds. Thank You!!
These are the grinds that I feed: www.carnivora.ca/products/whole-animal-diets Grinds are a really good option if you're worried about balance, but keep in mind that not all grinds are going to be balanced so you'll sometimes have to get in contact with the supplier to ask what their muscle/bone/organ ratio is. If you are able to get carnivora (and that'll depend on where you live) their whole animal diet patties are balanced. Here is a really good resource for finding where you can buy raw in your area: pazuandfriends.weebly.com/blog-posts/where-to-buy-raw-food-online
@@FriendlyNeighborhoodFerrets Okay! Thank you so much I have been trying to find balanced, healthy grinds for a while now so I will definitely look into this, Thank you again! And I might have to try to make these treats too :D
The only food I will ever recommend to feed ferrets is the raw diet. They aren't meant to digest kibble. If you're looking for a more kibble like version of the raw diet, consider switching to freeze dried raw (ziwipeak is a really good brand).
@@FriendlyNeighborhoodFerrets oh ok thx! but i would like to try to put my ferrets on a raw diet but i am not sure at all how i am suppose to do that because it is kinda confusing

This is such a great idea, how do I not think of this lol!! Looks like I’m busting out my dehydrator tonight😁
Your skunk shirt RULES
Vital Essentials FDR treats are really good! Just avoid the cat specific meal as that has goat milk in it. The rest is awesome!

Thank you so much! I hope your treats turn out well
I've wanted to have ferrets for a really long time now, and I'm getting them soon. I'm planning on having them on a raw diet :)
*btw, I'm vegan XD*
I'm vegan too! I'm glad that you're willing to still offer your ferrets raw
Have you changed your clock on your microwave since filming this? You're off by an hour. ;-) Also your ferret call works on Sam the cat.
They took the treat ran
