For Penny, I really suggest bells on your door. I used them for my dog so she rings the bells when she needs to go outside. When she was a puppy every time we would let her outside we'd ring the bells and say "outside go pee". It's really amazing. Worked for my dog great! She caught along real fast. So now every time she needs to go outside she just uses her paw to ring the bells. We got them at our pet store and they're just bells on a like a pretty ribbon/rope thing and you just hook them to your back door handle. Highly suggest it!

Breanna W I was about to comment the same exact thing! It worked great with our puppy. We just taught her to ring it with her nose. Before we went out we would just point at the bell until she bumped it with her nose then she caught on very quickly that when the bell rang we went out. Just as a word of caution though, they will try to ring it to go out and play, so make sure you aren't playing when you take them out after ringing it. Bring them back inside if they just start playing around (then you can go out and play later when you decide that it's time to play).
Sharlene Larose I love it! My dog is a boxer so she is tall enough to ring them with her paw. Such a great idea. Whoever came up with it is a genius.

I smiled so big when Ellie brought out the stencils. My mother sold Tupperware for years and I had those same stencils and they were my favorite. It brought back so many memories of my childhood.

I love you guys. It's so hard not to cry knowing that my love Penny passed away a few years ago at age 7 due to cancer. Here's to your new pup. Let her have a life full of happiness and joy. I know she will make your life brighter just like my Penny did for mine. Never forget how much of apart of your family she is Mine is gone but thank you for giving me something to hold onto

We did the bell training with our lab. Worked amazingly. No accidents.
I hung a bell on the door nob. At first I would shake it when I took my dog out as a puppy. She learned to associate the sound with going out side. Hung it with a pink ribbon so it would hang down for her to reach.

My grandma's dog Zoe used to bite like that when she was a puppy. If you take some frozen butter and put it on the back of your hand, the puppy will lick it off instead of biting and it will show them to treat skin more gently.

My puppy Chester is a lab as well and he used to bite and "mouth" a lot when he was little. We didn't realize it at the time but he was actually teething and wanted to gnaw on something because his gums were hurting.
Could you do a WHOLE finished house tour ? Including the outsize when it's all done please?! Plus, penny is solo cute

We tiered our backyard as well so we could have areas of flat to plant fruit trees. We have orange, lemon bush, avocados, pomegranate, peach, and apple trees. We just have one of each. I have tired to grow grapes as well, but I can't keep the critters away long enough for them to grow. lol I also have tomatoes, snap peas, strawberries, mint, parsley, basil, thyme, rosemary, sage, oregano, and chives. The herbs are SO easy and require nothing fancy. I just prune flower to keep the flavor of the herbs strong. The trees require some annual pruning and of course harvesting. I would love to grow more berries and melons. Oh grow fennel as well. My son has from a very tiny age enjoyed snack on it the most.
I grew up on a produce farm and spent hours in the fields eating my life away. I definitely don't have that here, but just a few of our favorites. I don't have a care in the world if the kids sit outside and munch on everything.

Freezer paper makes a great drawing surface. It's extra wide and the back side is waterproof so it keeps any markers or paint from bleeding through. I used to put a big strip down for the kids to draw on. It's also good for patterns, it can be ironed on fabric or wood or anything that doesn't melt and it will stick just enough and peel right off.

Oh my heavens, that was SO funny when you were playing basketball with Jackson. He has grown up SO much! He has a sense of humor and understood that you were playing with him in fun. Many toddlers would have not understood that! He is officially a little boy now. It was so funny when he was saying "go in the dirt dad". He recognized that if you stood far enough away, he could get a shot in before you could get to the hoop. Smart, smart, smart little boy! Love that kiddo! xoxox Heather 🇨🇦

Something cool to teach penny early on is to ring a bell that you hang from the door every time she needs to go. My neighbor's dog taught their dog as a puppy and he does it every time. You can start this training by tap your dogs paw on the bell every time you take her out.

You should bell train the puppy. Hang a bell from the doorknob on a leather string long enough for her to reach it and every time you let her out take her paw and hit the bell. We trained our dog when she was a puppy in a day or two. She would start going over and ringing the bell every time she wanted out. She's now 11 years old and still does it. Best thing ever.
this was the first thanksgiving i had to spend alone because i started university this year and i couldn't afford a plane ticket home but watching you guys made me feel like i wasn't alone:) so thank you so very much for uploading your vlogs every single day! they mean a whole lot to me! x

If penny bites a lot, you should try sour apple spray! All you have to do is spray it on something that she keeps wanting to bite on, and if she tries to bite it, it'll taste yucky! My dogs actually know what the bottle looks like, and so if they are biting on something or have something in their mouth that their not supposed to, I'll show it to them and they'll drop it! It has actually saved them a couple times from eating something that would make them really sick, or even need surgery!

we trained our dog with bells on the door. Hang bells on the door knob where you take her out and everytime you take her out have her ring the bells, soon enough she will ring the bells to tell you she needs to go out side. our dog is 7 and still rings the bells to go out.
Hey Ellie and Jared! Something we taught all of our dogs throughout the years to do is to ring a bell hanging from the back door, when they have to go out to go potty (just a simple bell hanging from a string from the doorknob). That way we could hear if they had to go out from most anywhere in the house. Just a tip!(:

Im glad to be watching this. I was in pain cuz my stomach was killing me. It really hurted but I managed to handle it myself by rubbing an oil for an hour. I was shivering and sweating waiting for my mom or dad to come home to help me pull the blanket up when I didn't have the strength to. I was glad my mom came back to help me. I know I shouldn't be on my phone but have a good day if your reading this ☺️
