  • Tender maple glazed beef brisket is the slow-cooked dinner that you’ll keep on coming back to. Full of deliciously rich flavours, this brisket just melts in the mouth and requires minimal preparation.
    Serves: 4-6 Prep time: 5 minutes + overnight marinating and resting Cooking time: 4 hours

    INGREDIENTS
    ¼ cup maple syrup
    1 tsp ground paprika
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    1 orange
    2 Tbsp brown sugar
    3 Tbsp bbq sauce
    3 Tbsp wholegrain mustard
    1-1.2kg beef brisket
    METHOD
    In a small bowl mix maple syrup, paprika, garlic, the juice and zest of the orange, brown sugar, bbq sauce, wholegrain mustard and seasoning until well combined.
    Place the brisket in a large dish, pour over half of the maple mixture, then cover and place in the fridge to marinate overnight. Cover and set aside the remaining maple mixture in the fridge for the next day.
    Preheat your oven to 145°C bake. Transfer the brisket into a large oven-proof dish with a lid. Pour the reserved maple mixture over the brisket, cover and cook for 3 ½ - 4 hours, or until tender, basting twice with the cooking liquids.
    Cover the brisket with tinfoil and allow to rest for 20-30 minutes before slicing. Drizzle over pan juices if desired and enjoy.
