    Omg I have an alcohol problem but after watching this my bottle of vodka is sitting on the floor and I feel like I've had a valium - thank you so much - I will be tapping evermore xxx

      Yeah I know the feeling. If you repeat the process, over time, the underlying "need" or craving will simply lose all its power. It simply helps to break up the looping circuit in the brain.

    Thank you Michael! I tap every time a have an urge to smoke, and I'm down to half a cigarette a day without any discomfort! I weaned myself off slowly and easily with your video, I really appreciate all of your generous content on UA-cam:)

    I will give this a daily try. thank you Michael for all you do.
    Update: I’ve noticed the more I use this tap method, the more my urges to (insert addiction here) go away, if not, stay in peacef without acting on it til it goes away. I love this. I’ve been using this daily, though my next test comes in the form of using this method every time I feel an urge. I don’t want to say what I’m addicted to, just know that this may be a good way for me to have a breakthrough! ❤

      Great. glad to hear it. Yeah, if you keep tapping on the "urge" or "impulsive" feeling, eventually it will reduce inside. It's basically a stress signal in the brain that's wired up, and the tapping can help to break down that pathway in the brain. It can potentially work with any addiction or impulse.

    I used this one as a surrogate Tap and had crazzzzy body sensations - oddly I was actually truly able to feel the craving (even though I was tapping surrogately) and this “script” was incredible . Thanks 🙏

    OMG, thx Micheal...Trying to quit smoking cigarettes, evertime I want to smoke a cigeratte, I will do this tapping thing, or what really works for this, is breathy in, breathing out, for I know that's definetly, good for the mind,body,spirit, and smoking cigarettes, is not...And, thx also, to my Mom, for she is the one that had sent me this link._.

      Hows it going? If you succumb be sure not to add guilt or beat yourself up about it.
      Simply, tap on it next time. If you keep tapping, the brain physiology will change enough that it no longer is attractive to you. It takes time. If you add Qi gong, yoga or exercise to it, it will likely shift faster.

    That's so helpful, the idea that you need to allow yourself to want it first. I feel a reduction from 10 to 5 now and I had to do it twice to get here, so I need to do it more and more. I'm really grateful for this video and for the channel in general 🙏

      Ha! Yes, well most dis-ease seems to be self inflicted, albiet subconsciously. I like to ask myself and people im working with "What benefit do you get out of this belief/story/emotion/reaction?" This can help you identify what to tap on and release. Very fast way to help break the pattern up.

      Ha. Not yet. Ask yourself, "Is there any benefit I'm getting from the drama?" This will help you see why it's potentially an addiction and can start to break it.

    how long and how many times a day must you do this?

    • @MichaelHetherington
      @MichaelHetherington  2 роки тому +2

      Depends on various factors. I generally recommend 5-10mins of tapping a day gets the ball rolling and begins shifting the brain physiology.

      Here i am again, asked 1 year back for some feedback but i guess i was not as motivated as this time. I have been doing this every day and it's day 4 of being clean. I do my eft in the mornings as I know this is where my triggers are. Thank you.....

    • @MichaelHetherington
      @MichaelHetherington  Рік тому +2

      Yes, good to hear. I recommend doing a little 1min tap before you lighht up a smoke (no words needed). This will help start to shift the nervsous system when its in autopilot. Over time, this will shake off the impulse and the pattern.

    I dont know, I got stuck on a nine and with a mouth full of water after this
    from a 9 I got to a 9.5 dunno. and did it 2 times
    the whole imagine yourself consuming it seems dangerous

      my drug is alcohol btw

    • @MichaelHetherington
      @MichaelHetherington  Рік тому +1

      yeah just needs more time and tapping. Sometimes the nervous system gets agitated by thinking and imagining it. So, it takes a while to "break up" the nervous system response. Ideally, you want to get to a place where you can think of the substance, even picture having it but it generates no interest or desire.

    Ads in the middle of this vid - what a shame, won’t be using again

    • @MichaelHetherington
      @MichaelHetherington  Рік тому +1

      Yeah..it's not me doing it. I have it turned off. But, youtube has a new policy in place that is brining ads into any videos they want... to help promote their premium offer that has no ads.

    • @Queen-qe5gt
      @Queen-qe5gt Рік тому

      @@MichaelHetherington oh I see, I did think it was odd that you would allow ads in the middle of a tapping session. Thanks for getting back to me on this, have a great weekend! ☀️☀️☀️
