@@callizto1964 horrible haha I freaked out during the bodice and the small bust adjustments. I was able to make the skirt and wore it for something else.
THANK YOU NADIRA for your tutorial with a waistband and zipper. I finished it today and it's the most professional thing I've ever sewn. Your video had great instructions. My tulle skirt is fabulous.
Oh I TOTALLY LOVE overlays, whether they're the sheer print over solid, or this tulle maxi skirt here! I'm not really into Halloween, except to help my church with their festivities (great fellowship and feel much safer), so I was thinking of going as a 50's girl or something so I'll be dressed up as SOMETHING nice.
I just finished mine and I love it! I used 3 layers of black, with one layer of dark red second from the top. I'm a street performer, so it will be perfect to wear with my corset! Thank you so much for your sharing!
Love it, love it. You explained things extremely clear! I would like to know, can I use more than the two layers of tulle and maybe organza and tulle... I need a black one for a very special occasion and need it maybe in a tea length.
Thank you so much! Great tutorial! I just tried to put a zip in a skirt with a tulle overlay, and the result was embarrassing to say the least! Trying your method this afternoon!
The advice about soaking the tulle is awesome! I've been so frustrated working with tulle in the past! I'm planning another project with it and this will be so helpful!!
You are awesome!! one thing, i am starting out, and would love if you would show especially on the waist bands the actual sewing on the machine... its confusing to me where and how to pin.. but you are totally awesome! lol
Thank you for the help. Also thanks for mentioning how many layers you recommend i think I'll try 3/4 for my little cousins prom dress. Will tag you in the results !! X
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! i’m making a skirt for a dance to once upon a december from anastasia, i’ll let you know how it goes? how many yards of fabric do i need?
So, I am planning to make myself one of these for my upcoming Halloween trip to Disney. I have searched far and wide for a good tutorial and this seems to be the absolute best. Wish me luck!!
Beautiful! I know the length of tulle you used was 18yards, but what was the width? I looked at the link you posted on your blog for tulle but didn't know what width to get! I would like to make one that stops just under my knees.
Hi hun, 54 " is what I used but of course my skirt is maxi length. Use the link on my blog(in the description box) to figure the length of tulle you will need for it to pass just under your knees. :-)
this was a fantastic tutorial, you explain and demonstrate things very well! I plan to make this type of maxi skirt using chiffon, instead of tulle (though I LOVE the tulle), I will certainly share if it works out, haha. please do more tutorials :)
What a talented young lady you are! I would like elastic waist band. I purchase a midi tulle skirt at Torrid this Christmas. I think I will try making my own long skirt. Thank you for this tutorial.
"Circle Skirt Pattern & Measurement" link doesn't work, if you still have the blogs and you let your webpage go, you can post them on Medium for free and easy. It is what I do with old blog articles and still make the affiliate commissions
I love this, this will be perfect for my fairy Renaissance Festival costume! Although, I need to go much puffier have! you have 2 pieces of tulle per layer....and two layers. I'm thinking I'll need like 6 (12 pieces?) layers for a big puffy skirt???
Hi! Did you use the cheap tulle for this? It looks a lot more flowy. I want to make one just like this but don't know which type of tulle to get. please help 😊
this is very beautiful and made very well BUT HONEY THIS IS FOR SOME1 THAT CAN REALL Y SEW! LOL I became bored because i didn't understand, but I will watch until I get it!! GREAT JOB
Salaams. Your tutorials are so informative. Which tutorials do I need to see to work out my measurements and caluclate how much material I need? Thank you x
This is so cute. I am horrible with zippers can an elastic band be used instead? I would like a ballgown shaped skirt. How many layers of tulle do you suggest?
Thank you, yes you can use a elastic band, you will just want the waist measurement to be wide enough so that you can fit it over your hips. :-) I would use at least 6 layers, with the gathers it will be nice and big. Check out my blog post here for a link on a great price on tulle fabric www.nadira037.com/2014/04/diy-tulle-maxi-skirt-zipper-closure.html
Okay! I love this tutorial but I'm confused about how many yards I will need of tulle. I figured out I will need about 4 yards for my lining. So how many yards of tulle should I buy? Thanks!
As salaamu alaikum. Did you use a sheet for your maxi skirt as well? InshaAllah can you provided the links were you purchased you lining and tulle fabric? JazakAllah for another great tutorial.
i must say i trully admire youre talent , and how u use ur camera , usually ppl are good at one thing and its enough for them , but you are great , i hope u carry on to more pretty vedios 😘😘😘
Confused? ?? I am 5"10 and I am lost on how to add the tulle because I used a sheet for lining. It makes since for a smaller skirt but how did you do the tulle for your skirt?
Hi Nadira! I've tried this tutorial several times, and each time at the end (when it's time to attach the waist band), the waist band is longer than the skirt, and then the zipper doesn't measure up to the mid way point to flip over correctly. What am I doing wrong heeellllpppp!
Thank you so much for your tutorial! How many layers of tule did you use for your long skirt? It looks just perfect! Beautiful! And one more question, will it be fine to make the skirt on elastic band?
Hey Nadira, love you so much by the way, thanks for all the tutorials. I found a long sleeve dress with a sweetheart neckline i would love to make for my birthday, but I have no idea how to go about it . If you are not too busy , and if your religion permits, can you please please do a sweetheart neckline dress tutorial, many thanks
PERFECT Video!!! I have been looking for a tutorial for this maxi tulle dress. Thanks so much! Quick question, what measurements of tulle did you purchase for your skirt? Like How wide and many yards was the Tulle?
Yay! Thanks so much for watching and I'm happy you enjoyed the tut! :-) My tulle was 54" wide and I used 18 yards to make 3 layers but it depends on your measurements. Check out the links in the info box to figure out your measurements and how much tulle you will need.
Actually Lavenderrose73 if you buy it in a store yes it will cost. I bought 10yards for almost 20 dollars. However, if you visit www dot tulleshop dot com you can find the tulle for $10.55 for 40 yards.
It was hard for me because I was trying to do a long skirt and a short circle skirt pattern is different from a long circle skirt if you did a long one please tell me what you did

Hello, I was wondering how much tulle was used to make your skirt?
Wow cool!!! Can you make a tulle shirt???
Wayyy above my limited skill level but the final product is beautiful!!!
Is the website listed where you got your tulle? There are some complaints about the company..
I liked that she worked hard on the skirt
How many layers of tulle did you use for your pink skirt? That looks like the exact amount of fluff that my daughter wants for her skirt. :)
Thank you so much for your tutorial! How many layers of tule did you use for your long skirt? It looks just perfect! Beautiful! And one more question, will it be fine to make the skirt on elastic band?
I have a bodice taken from a dress that I want to add a lining and tulle skirt too. Could this for that too? I love your design by the way.
Just lovely!!!! Thanks so much for sharing 😊😊
What material did you use for the lining? Was it a knit?
I end up with 2.5 yard total for my daughter. does that include the lining or just the tull?
Hey Nadira, love you so much by the way, thanks for all the tutorials.
