I know that's it hard to lose Charles. He was iconic, I agree. But even so, I still wish the new voices for Mario and Nintendo in general well. All good things must come to an end, even of what that is known to be beautiful. He will surely, be missed.
@@TheY2KReviewer if charles stepped down of his own will i would wish nintendo well but since they did charles dirty and removed him for no reason then justice for charles is deserved any any new mario titles should be bicotted
I saw him walking down the street the other day, And I yelled to him "It's a you Mario!" and he said "Whaaahooo"! Made my day, then I released it wasn't him, but just an old man that looked like him. Still was great.
I saw him in person at E3 back in 2015 completely unexpectedly. He told a story about how he designed a level in Mario Maker full of coins so he could just run through and pick them all up. He was everything I hoped he would be and more.
He's a genuine guy. Intelligent, deep thinker with a lot of passion and wisdom behind his thoughts. The questions the audience asked were so basic though, Charles has more to offer than surface level questions.
@@xenofalcon I still think he handled them very graciously, and I’m certain he would not think less of anyone for asking very simple or not-“stimulating” questions. :) He seems like such a sweet and true person.
Met this man and had a long chat with him...not gonna lie, this man is the most inspirational man I have ever met in my life even if what we do is completely different
I had a similar experience with him. He talked to how fast life goes by. Referring to his friend's daughter, who is now in her latw 20s. He really is an amazing guy! I had him sign my Mario's cement factory game and watch cause its so niche, and I doubt anybody else has a charles martinet signed marios cement factory in their collection. But yeah, overall, great guy!
The legend behind Mario's Original Voice. Charles always bring a warm feeling on the way he chat and how much fun he had and still have as voice actor.
For those with a keen eye and have seen another panel with the current voice actors of Mario's biggest competitor, will know that a joke was mentioned about wanting to do something in an hour; and what was not mentioned unless you seen the other comment or been at the event, both voice actors were at the event within a few hundred feet (or fewer) from each other.
I clicked on the video because I was curious to see what kinda questions Charles got asked n stuff and I came out of those first 23 minutes absolutely floored. Life changing stuff. This man’s authenticity, honesty and openness is nigh unmatched for someone of such a high status. I even got to experience those things firsthand when I met him at a con. Before my little brother and I went up to meet him he was talking with his agent about an issue, and when he finished talking he turned to us and said “Hi sorry I’m having my moment.” We then had some brief dialogue about his issue of how the loudspeakers were too loud and it was impacting his ability to interact with fans. From there it was the obvious “you were my childhood,” fun little signings and pics, etc. but just the act of meeting Charles while he wasn’t in the best of spirits (which may also have had to do with the fact that the announcement of his retirement from Mario was only days away by that point) and being able to acknowledge that with him ever so briefly was my biggest takeaway by far. It was just more of that authenticity in action. Charles will always be my Mario❤️
Mr. Martinet, thank you so much for being the voice of my childhood. Mario is my absolute favorite video game franchise and your iconic voice is absolutely timeless. You're a national treasure, sir!
I love how the entire time, he has this playful nature about him, and no matter what, he just kind of rolls with it and sometimes keeps on rolling until he bumps into the next checkpoint topic. 😂 Definitely an inspiration to many, if not all. 😊
People keep asking him what his favorite Mario game is (which is all of them) but they never ask what his favorite Mario(or related) line to speak is. I'd like to know.
I'm A Huge Fan Of Charles And Kevin For Voicing My Childhood Hero Mario, Although That Could Be Some Haters Who Don't Like Mario But Who Cares What They Say About Him
I was surprised when he told the story about how he auditioned to be the back up voice of goofy i didn't know that before when i first heard about it at one of his panels on UA-cam

His normal voice is basically Luigi
Like if Luigi was the older brother.

LMAO. At least that old man played along to make you not feel so bad that you got the wrong person. 😂
If anyone ever meets this man, thank him for your childhood and make sure you let him know that he deserves the world and so much more!
Noted ;)
This panel was just months before Nintendo announcing Charles Martinet retiring from Mario.

Even though he's no longer voicing Mario enjoy Charles' casual voice, it make him a genuine guy.

28:13 gotta love how he says nothing about how nervous this person was. Answers there question and movies on
That sounds more like a speech impediment to me (think porky pig voice) not nervousness
Yes definitely but I think that poor chap had a legitimate stutter

Met him at the SF fan expo in 2022, took his time and had a lil chat with us. Glad I didn’t miss it cuz he retired a year later

Part of me wishes that he provided new audio for one last game, and said game also serves as fully passing the torch to Afghani.
Fun fact: I met this guy 2 years ago and asked him what his favorite Mario game was he said all of them.
Yeah, he basically said the same thing during this panel. Your answer was not unique.
