Cube bailed not long after they dropped SoC, and the group only released one other album after that (good but nowhere near as groundbreaking as SOC).. Just as important as the group itself was the fact it acted as a springboard for the solo careers of Cube Dre n Eazy-E.. My main complaint is the movie COMPLETELY skipped over the Eazy vs Dre beef.... Huh wonder who made the decision to leave that part out 😂🤣

I was 17 when the song released. It was such a comment of rage and frustration and the album was a wake up call to all of the USA to what life felt like in the hood. Sadly, instead of it waking people up, it got glorified for profit instead of being used as a tool of engagement for positive change. Somewhere along the way, the progress in civil rites made through the 60s and 70s got hijacked for profit and we ended up with woke culture and black poverty instead of better outcomes for the grandchildren of the revolution.
