  • The infamous "Quit" game, which I frankly don't get. He didn't play a good game, but it sure as hell wasn't due to lack of effort.

I'll admit I though he quit in this one. He had an awful game, but taking only 14 shots is unacceptable. Then he did the same thing in Game 4 against the Mavs the following year. 8 points with only 11 shots. A team's best player cannot ever be that passive, and I think he realized that after he lost in 2011. He was a lot more aggressive after losing this series and the Mavs series.

He really manned up in 2012 and gained a better confidence in his game. His entire game (as well as being in his prime) improved in those 2012-2013 seasons.

sylvester jackson “ As the primary defender on James, Leonard held him to 34% shooting from the field and 20% on contested shots. He reduced James’ catches, drives and shot attempts. Miami never got traction in the series and lost in five games.”
Leonard was 22 during the 2014 Finals, ..
Greatness can only be forged in the playoffs. The criteria for best player in the world are simple: He must be able to score when it matters most, stop other great players from scoring and elevate his team to rare postseason heights.

After Leonard played a huge part in James' 7-for-21 shooting night in the Spurs' Game 3 win Tuesday, made four steals and grabbed 12 rebounds..

I never got the hype about this game either. He played terribly in the biggest game of the season, but there wasn't a lack of effort. People also like to conveniently forget that the very next game he posted a triple double with 27 pts, 19 boards, and 10 assists. Truly a quitting effort in that game as well

you can see it in his play he was hurt at this moment he already decided to leave Cleveland, I don't think he knew where exactly he was going like Miami but he was done with this team at that point in time, he had found out delonte west had slept with his mom and most of the people in the cavs organization was aware except LeBron, once he found out he quit , games 5&6 was proof of that, earlier in the series he played with a lot more effort and a man on a mission, a lot of the bad plays made here are clearly mental fatigue, how would you feel if you found out your friend fucked ya mom, would you be able to go out and concentrate on a basketball game playing with the same mf that did it no, it really sucks and idk how he forgave his mother because I don't think I would've been able to so kudos to the king

    • @CrysisOwnsHalo
      @CrysisOwnsHalo 8 років тому +2

I'm a huge fan of LeBron James, but let's be real here: being upset over your friend sleeping with your mom is one of the most ridiculous, irrational things to be upset over. Not to mention it's just fucking creepy and possessive.
She is her own person with her own free will and her own body. She is a grown ass woman who makes her own decisions and decides who the fuck she wants to fuck. Why the fuck would you try to control her body and who she has sex with, especially when you're her son? That's an Oedipus complex out the ass.
Also, what makes it even more nonsensical is that that person is your FRIEND, whom you trust and know well. It makes much more sense to me that you would rather have someone close to you that you trust and know well like a friend sleeping with your mom than some asshole stranger that you don't know because you at least know that he's a good person and will treat her well.
This concept always made absolutely no sense to me.

yep from 2003-2009 he gave that franchise everything he had...the team just wasnt good enough....in 2009 he played so hard and the team quit on him or choked but orlando just hit a lot of 3's and no answers for dwight...in 2008 bostons big 3 was unfair...thats why when he left they shouldnt have been so mean....the dont deserve him back ...in 2010 he didnt feel like winning with these backstabbers...it was too much to carry....also no help...gilbert not trading jj hickson for amare that year i think was the last straw......he needed a friend in d wade who he wanted to win with...and man how unfair...mj and kobe have created their own drama but lebron didnt and he got bashed ...its so unfair

Kevin Brown he always has the ball they just catch and shoot it’s hard to get a rhythm if your not involved in every ply moving the ball, cutting, screening especially if doing that isn’t the strongest part of your game. He should’ve accepted coaching and learned to play like the warriors and spurs play in a system where the open man on the best shot shoots and when it can’t get a shot go 1 on 1 late that way when you’re having a bad game your teammates have a chance and you don’t waste all your damn energy early in the game

I honestly can let this performance slide. Yes, it did seem like he gave up, I remember watching with my dad and asking him what’s wrong with Lebron? but looking back I can understand why he played so poorly. Give credit to Boston’s defense and let’s face it Lebron really didn’t have another player that could create for themselves or others so everything was on his shoulders. This performance gets a pass but the 2011 finals against the Mavs is Lebron’s worst performance ever, no excuse to lose that series but he’s still one of the best ever.

Have you looked at either the team he played against or for?
He was playing a gainst a boston big three that had Ray Allen.
The next best guy on his team ad a Box Plus/Minus of 1.8.
      One point fucking eight.
And, ELEVEN of the EIGHTEEN players on that cavs team had a BPM of less than zero.
      Steph curry couldn't beat that.
      KD Couldn't beat that.
Considering how long he went without a ring, MJ probably wouldn't have been able to hack it either.

@@Meyr3356 Oh ok. Let's blame his teammates for his piss-poor performance then.
Oh btw, the Cavs were heavy favorites before the series started
      NOBODY was picking the Celtics
they were either too old or injured.
but no, let's act like Lebron and the Cavs were always intended to lose this series even though they had the best record, homecourt advantage, and he was the MVP.
But hey, it's his teammates that made him shoot only 4 Field Goals in the 2nd half, right?

    • @Meyr3356
      @Meyr3356 4 роки тому +3

      @@JoeSmithGOAT Yes we can.
Didn't Kobe do this once, al be it with a different mentality? If I recall, he played facillitator to prove a point that he was needed, and the lakers got curbstomped.
The same thing happened to MJ, where he couldn't get into a rythm against the pistons pre-pippen, and didn't perform.
All 3 of those scenarioshave one thing in common. All of them were teams that were carried by a single superstar, and had no buisness getting anywhere near the finals, with the only meaningful difference being Lebron's cavs were a one seed.
But lets forget about that because lebron was bad.
Here's a tip for you to remember:
The better team will always win a 7 game sieries, regardless of individual talent. Here's a good modern example: 2015. Lebron's all-star-less Cavs, vs the Warriors. THe only way this rule gets broken regularly is injury.
Also, when tristan thompson holds curry to less than 35% from the field, it's good defense, but when the 2010 cavs team runs into a defense desighned to shit all over teams like that, lebron's a choker.
