Rubbish. If you apply this philosophy in your work place, you'll be very miserable.
The ability to work with others is indispensable, anyone that is blunt, aggressive or just rude in the name of not wanting to be likeable would struggle in a real work environment.

I think you might be twisting what she said. She didn't say, "be rude" just be yourself, know your worth, don't pretend to be okay with certain behaviours just for applause, set boundaries...and I think that's great, healthy advice.

Some people will still dislike you when you try to be nice and think you’re fake so aiming to be liked in the office is a chasing of the wind. I didn’t realise that’s what people felt about me when I was trying to be sweet and nice and likeable. They think you are a suck up. I came to the conclusion that some people will like you and some won’t as the video puts it. And that’s just life.

@@gelly199 Which ISN'T what Chimamanda said either. I agree 100% with @chuby_ubesie, being likable is important for getting things done as well as getting along in society. This current wave of "feminism" seems to have lost the plot. Being likable is important for men AND for women. Hopefully they realize that before its too late.
