i saw these guys in Denver at the hi dive, it was their first sold out show on the road tour and they came out and murdered it, just unbelievable, they finished, the crowd clapped them back on stage, they played two more songs then shutdown, pulled a guitar and a drum, walked out into the audience at the bar and played two more. unrivaled show
I really, really dig this band. A lot. As for all the comments as to the singing/posture - ever see some videos of religious fanatics and snake handlers when they go into their rapture? Yeah, that's what it reminds me of. It's part of the band's style and persona - the voice is either one you love or don't - I personally think it's -perfect- for the music. Like some holy-roller preacher going batshit in the middle of his sermon - and no, I'm not religious - that's just the wonderful satire of this band.
They have such a good flow! And on top of the acoustic stimuli the guitar is been hold like Johnny Cash would do! So it is also a pleasure to watch them!

There's a hole bunch of southern gothic bands and alt-folk that is so amazing. I never knew what my genre was until I came across those bands.
I've been thinking of them as "Acoustic Metal." Good to know that there are enough others for this type of music to have a name.

The voice is awful and I LOVE IT. Shrill and full of angst from living in the world. PERFECT.
