Your are my Job done AR 15 Watching all EP thanks sir
Here I just got done building two are lowers last month and I was using a old credit card to help hold the defense into place
Hey Randy... could you make a video on to remove the pivot pin now....How to. What tool to use...etc....
Its on the list. Thanks for the feedback.
Guitar pick and or chop stick are my tools of choice.
Good stuff. Thanks! There's ALWAYS a better way to do something. (Still looking for those detents I launched across the workroom!)
Randy ! Removing the pin too?? video??? always awesome! maybe even teach us the trick how to drill n tap the pin capture behing the but stock ( Safety rentention spring thing? ? that all the "pros" talk about doing..? your videos rock!
Great suggestion!
I recently bought one of the Real Avid plastic pivot pin tools and it works great! I was using a utility knife blade for years and it works...but I admit to lunching a few pins and springs into orbit. The clevis pin trick actually looks like one of the best ideas.
The tool was worth it!
Safety Glasses are a must !!! Those think I have still in the Air!!!
Been building for 10 yrs now....never used one of the installation tools, ive always just used a utility knife blade. 😂
That pivot pin tool is the shizzz nits!!!! But it’s not that easy you should really really really do a vid on exactly what’s going on I had to do a few lowers before I truly understood how it really worked!!! Spring in then it clips in the lower which side matters then the pin jams it in the whole rotate the tool up pull the pin then in with the take down pin the longer one it is tricky (Is So Simple it is actually tricky) but if you miss the detent goes about 10 yards. Extra spring extra detentes is a really good idea!!! But try to understand the best you can what is going on and don’t get in a hurry that’s when most things go wrong. Take your time and once you get though your 3 or 4 th one then it will make sense… one point tape the shit out of your lower that roll pin 📍 for the Bork catch using the mil speck kits you have to beat the fuck out of them. I use a C Clamp on pressing the second one in for the trigger gaurd. AND MAKE SURE you have the bolt catch in BEFoRE doing the bolt catch!!! It’s a Bitch beating that roll pin in angle is everything but it’s 2 times as hard beating it out because the bolt catch was not done first!!!
But what bout the takedown pin???
Um. Worth the 12 bux for a single use.
And now the trick to removing one???
