I didn't play in last years but this one was fine i guess, kinda just played enough to get the freebies and that was it. Screwed around with survivors afterword so they could get their tome challenges done.
Just a take from someone who's only been playing for a little over half a year. My only other big 4v1 event was the anniversary (i didn't count that lights out thing). I loved this event, two of my primary killers have the 'turns into an m1 killer' issue (onryo and legion), the haunt was a great filler that i felt was tricky to use and rewarding. For bloodpoints i found i easily got 60-80k per game as killer, and often over 100 through prioritizing pumpkins, not as good as the anniversary but still good. The void itself i loved, and what you mentioned about the void being strong for survivors i just never saw, it tells me what skill bracket i'm in because going in the void was a survivor death sentance when i was killer. As for the smoke bombs, as much as i loved them they defenitly introduce heavily abelist gameplay.
Another thing is that there was a bug that never got fixed where survivors would permanently lose their scratch marks after dropping a smoke bomb, which made killer not worth playing for me.
I want Bone Chill this year to be JUST about doing endless gens and endless hooks and snowballs and fun, you can leave when you want gates are always open and you can always Mori on a down, but the real mode is about throwing snowballs, building forts, playing in snowmen, and having a big sandbox for everyone to just vibe in. You can play a real game, or you can just vibe. Basically, open hop-in customs for everyone. Game ends when everyone decides to leave or Killer Moris everyone. The sweats will find no joy in such a piss easy mode, and the people who want to do sandbox stuff can find new friends to play with, and it supports the idea of a more chill community event. But they will likely never do that.
I honestly think Halloween should have a x2 BP dbd is a horror game and Halloween should be one of their focus events imo. That would make me play the event more. I only played the event for the tome and that took me 2hrs each tome max.
I mostly agree. Playing surviver was fun enough. But playing killer was just added frustrations all over the place. I was really really glad that they left the regular queue separate.
Honestly the void literally fucks up so many killers powers. As an avid Hag player not being able to teleport to a trap sucks. Also I genuinely just never cared about transmitting energy as a killer besides doing it for the Tome challenges because like? You do all that and 2 gens pop all because you wanted some spooky ghosties that 90% of the time didn't work whereas the survivors smoke bombs were 1000% more potent. I also didn't play last years void but it was fun for a few games and then realized it wasn't worth cause the BP boost wasn't even noticeable, no more then a survivor pudding.
Go through a Haunted House once... Terrifying experience. Go through that same Haunted House 10xs a day.... Its not scary anymore. DBD is much the same.
Hey Kaiser, the trinket system has been around since last Haunted by Daylight to my knowledge. It's older than you think. :) I think this mode was mediocre and still provided one side with too many tools. In particular I still think compared to last year, Survivor is the stronger role. There's no reason for Killers to go into the Void, the Haunts do not do enough and it wastes time. Survivors realized the same thing after the tome was done, and they just started to slam gens. It felt like Franklin's was almost mandatory for this event, and that shouldn't be a thing. As a result Killers felt that they had to play hard, so Survivors played hard, and the cycle repeated in what is usually a pretty casual little side mode - which is to be expected of events but it felt REALLY nasty this year for some reason to me. I have been tunneled and slugged more this event than any so far, and that's pretty upsetting - you essentially needed a Styptic, Unbreakable, or a Syringe, and one of the challenges being to escape chase after throwing a smoke grenade really didn't help. Speaking of those, the smoke grenades themselves did too much for what they are, muffling sound AND suppressing every possible way a Killer can track except for, weirdly, Killer Instinct and Crows. My Ghostface had a great time abusing Shroud in chase for the free instinct proc this way, but my poor Wraith would have been cooked by the smoke grenades. They're also as you pointed out here, a massive accessibility issue - I'm ADHD/Autistic and while the sound muffling was fine due to my sensitive hearing, the visual effect was difficult for me to do anything against, I struggle harder with visual info so this messed me up hard, and just wasn't fun. The other issue is it was super glitchy. The Smoke Grenades caused terrible lag, sound occlusion issues, and stuttering. There was a glitch with flashbangs, and with pallets and smoke bombs, that could DC the Killer mid-mori. I swear my gaming rig was overheating all event, and I run a pretty hefty gaming laptop setup. It wasn't great. The one good thing: They sort of slowed down the game by forcing people to go in the Void, and they also tried new things. I appreciate that Killers could use their powers in the Void too, that was a big help and should have been possible last year. Overall I like the Void and I like this event. But BHVR needs to rethink this, and make going in the Void MANDATORY for both sides to complete their goals. We need something that slows both sides down so Killers don't feel the need to use the most aggressive tools and perks, and Survivors do not feel they have to grind gens and leave. And please, never bring the smoke grenades back again.
mostly a nitpick on my end, but I just wish they'd stick to a more traditional halloween color pallet. the turquoise just doesn't really suit the vibe IMO
I didnt enjoy smoke bombs either. Whether i threw one or a teammate did, it was pretty much guaranteed that i would end up in some corner then downed lol. I barely played it this year. Just enough to get the items.
It really annoyed me as Surv too, nine times out of ten I'd run into shit because I could not see, and the one time I did escape it didn't work and the Killer pushed through anyway. If it DID work I KNOW the Killer hated it, because I didn't like it as Killer.
Thought it was decent. Idk why people complain about the Killer row... Its extremely easy for me. Extremely hard if i attempt to play Survivor. (btw i dont recommend anybody doing that) It wasnt just utterly buggy so not bad. Killers had a range ability, which was a little buggy/laggy but fun either way. I liked how Survivors couldnt hear my terror radius in the void. & i could use my ability in the void which was huge compared to when we couldnt. I enjoyed how the void looked as far as being able to jump over tiles by M1s. Everything was easily accessible. The Survivors smoke bombs was awesome imo. Very different from you average everyday flashlight/flashbang. Think the idea was neat. Would like to see smoke bombs in our regular trial one day.. (Killers who complain about these things are complete noobs) Very effective, and just looked cool from my POV as the Killer. Maybe add more random stuff like demons running throughout the map or ghost constantly flying around. Btw the pumpkin and the point system was REALLY NICE! Give the point system a "good" and not "great" bc the offering didnt effect all players. Imo, everything about the event was Good. Some aspect great.
first thing I thought when trying it is "i wish they kept the void as a alternate way to navigate the trials in the normal game, could be fun and make wider maps more enjoyable"
All this mode did was give survivors an extra escape route…..
Also gave me a handful of kills I didn’t deserve.
Last year was way better.. and I really like the idea of the Void being a safe Environment!
Last years one was just this years one but with less content...
@@SkelaTheSkeleton exactly, it was more chill and less Fortnite.
I didn't play in last years but this one was fine i guess, kinda just played enough to get the freebies and that was it. Screwed around with survivors afterword so they could get their tome challenges done.

I liked the chaoticness of Anniversary way more than this year's Haunted, TBH. Both sides. It's more fun when more chaos is introduced.

I am excited for the snowmen again
Last bone chill was shit also.
@@Alidonius6721 why do you say that?

@ThePhantomSafetyPin not sure if that is that fun actually.
Doing gens is already pretty boring.
I honestly think Halloween should have a x2 BP dbd is a horror game and Halloween should be one of their focus events imo. That would make me play the event more. I only played the event for the tome and that took me 2hrs each tome max.
Last year the void was a giant god loop, not allowing killer power made it a 2 window god loop.
I mostly agree. Playing surviver was fun enough. But playing killer was just added frustrations all over the place.

Haloween is supposed to be THE scary time, I expected much more from a game supposed to be scary
If you’ve played this long enough the “scary” factor goes away. I think behavior knows that.
Go through a Haunted House once... Terrifying experience.
Go through that same Haunted House 10xs a day.... Its not scary anymore. DBD is much the same.
Let's be frank.
It should have been a mix of the Void stuff and Lights Out.

Void was the size of an apartment bathroom. There was only one reason to go there.
It was a big disappoint

i actually really liked it! on killer and survivor
I seen killers hang out in the void, just to camp certain areas in the game. Get rid of the void map because it is so dumb.
Was that Trapper by any chance? They were probably memeing.

Dbd has fallen off as far as Halloween goes. It felt more like a Xmas spirit mode.
Maybe don't play a game where it requires you to hear???
Maybe don’t walk if you’re physically disabled???
i played 2 matches of that event not gonna lie ..it was very meh
Dissapointing
Is everything disappointing to you?
first thing I thought when trying it is "i wish they kept the void as a alternate way to navigate the trials in the normal game, could be fun and make wider maps more enjoyable"
i liked it
👍 think it was cool myself
😮😂😂disappointed is t
