Thank you for telling me where those 2 parts are located. Being a female, men will try to take advantage of me even though I worked in the automotive industry for 20+ years and many shop owners have told me and given me an area in their shops to work on my own vehicles.
Nice👍🏿 And your 200,000 plus miles & she's still running nicely! I found my 2005 up in Canton Georgia & little old man drove it & it was garage kept & she is clean on top & underneath! I changed the shocks & struts. On my second oil change to Mobile Super with all Wix filters. Fresh set of AC Delco Iridium plugs & the originals were still in the engine & none fouled 😁. Put a new Dynomax Muffler to free up the exhaust but not like a Flow Master🤮. New Tires 255/70 R16 & now I have to change the RR sway bar end link but I'm gonna change the driver side too. All in all it's in really good shape & I'm just replacing & upgrading OE parts because of age & not wear'n tare. It basically was a grocery getter! I got it at 124,000 miles last year & she's just at 133,500 since I've had it. Love these 4.2 Ltrs🥰. Stay safe & thanks for the video ✌🏿
Just watch out if you flush your engine oil. The oil pan on these is terrible to get off if you have 4x4, and if you flush and a bunch of sediment goes to the bottom, it can clog the oil intake filter located near the bottom of the oil pan and choke the engine out...thus destroying it. I know. 🤕
I recently changed my spark plugs but my car still turns off when in park or stopped at a red light.. I found my next project! Thank you for sharing your knowledge! 💯
TY.. You have been a great help. I was having issues finding the MAF. You are right everybody says the MAF doesn't exist. GREAT JOB!!! I'm a female , and it will take me no time to do it.☮️❤️🕯️
Also a note here, Buick Rainier, GMC Envoy, Chevy Trailblazer, and Isuzu Ascender are all the same vehicle so this works for all of them. My Ascender is at 227k miles and is having this issue to the point it surges like a cam and frequently dies while decelerating unless I apply throttle while braking.
2003 Trailblazer LT with same problem. Doesn't have a MAF sensor. I removed & cleaned the Throttle Body with gasoline and a rag. Use an 8oz of Seaform in 1/2 tank. Ran it about 80 miles over the course of 2 days. Run much better now, doesn't shut off as often while deaccelerating coming up to the stop lights or while sitting idling in my driveway. I will add the another 8oz of Seaform, this week to a full tank of gas. Hope this helps. - Peace out
@@red-hat-mike I'll do that as well then, I have MAF and MAP on the way in the mail. Couldn't hurt to clean throttle body and run a can of seafoam through it. Probably run seafoam in the oil too since I'm just a little bit til change
My 04 envoy has a mass air temp Sencor which is round bout 3/4 round & about 2/1/2 to 3 inches long , mine isn't flat like that , not sure what they change stuff ? Same motor & everything else on those car are interchangeable
MY 4.2 L I6 2005 model year does not have one. Only one temperature sensor further along that air hose. Two people on the internet said it was eliminated as a variation in 2005. THE one I Bought from rockauto is going back. Thay said it would fit my vechicle. This really is true?
I wonder what codes did you get to come with that repair. When mine do that uneven idle I clean the throttle body cause these models suck oil fumes thru air intake. And every time I clean the throttle body it comes back steady
True that! I am pretty consistent at cleaning the throttle body since it's very easy to do. This didn't seem to be the issue in this case, though, unfortunately. Good maintenance though!
I have on 05 trailblazer. Sometimes just turns off after backing out of the driveway and switching to drive. Starts right back up no problem but turns off as if you turned the key off. Think this would help?
I have a similar issue with my 04. But it only hesitates (RPM fluctuates about 200 RPM) when in top gear 70-90 Km/h. No issues on high speed or idling. Any suggestion will be appreciated.
If this doesn't work for you, (and you can run codes), try looking at your Evaporative Canister vent Valve back near your differential. They are about $17 at rockauto and are a VERY common issue on these and their running quality. Would also be seen under fault code p0014. Try replacing those if you never have.
I'm very thankful that there are always plenty of people on the internet to insult others who take time to post ideas that might help others. Thank you.
...because it's part of the service that Autozone provides. It helps them sell parts and may help the customer save money rather than paying a garage for a simple fix. Why shouldn't they?
It wasn’t a service provided during the height of COVID, every parts store I visited had the message posted from their corporate office explaining, so bashing the guy who making minimum wage for falling his corporates policy is sad.
I love when I come across a video showing me exactly what I’m needing to know. Thank you for sharing! :-)
You're welcome! Hope it works out.

Thanks for the video. I have a 2002 and have never had this done. I'll be online ordering soon
This video just saved me hundreds of dollars
Right on!👍

Awesome. Have a great Christmas and be blessed! -A
Great video... Not all trailblazers have the MAF sensor, mine doesn't have it.
Thank you very much the information I saw a video earlier this guy talk about using some kind of spray stuff on how to clean the mass airflow sensor
Very helpful my vehicle was doing the same thing. Thanks for making the video!
Hope it helped a little!
This helped alot thank you
You're welcome!
You can pick up a cheap scanner at harbor freight for 20 bucks that will scan all your codes OBD2
Very helpful video even for my h3 ive spent almost 3k in repair and ended up bein the maf sensor
Gosh. I hate to hear that. Hope this helped a little bit.
Thanks for this video much appreciated
Glad it was helpful!

I have a 05 lt I do not have that on my truck I keep going to get Dino tests done they keep saying my mass airflow sensor is bad I can't find it
02-05 Trailblazers do not have the maf sensor but an intake air temp sensor as well as the map sensor.

Get it all into the video ready to see where my map sensor is and then he goes since it's a V6.😂
Thought it mentioned that it was an inline 6 right off the bat...twice, actually.
...and yes, I did have the motor mounts tested and one replaced. It made no difference in the rough idle prior to replacing these parts.
Apparently, some have maf sensors, and some don't. Mine does not.
It's dependent on the year. My 2004 LS has an IAT and Map only.
My 2005 4.2 doesn't have a MAF sensor, just IAT and MAP
I have the same engine an yet mine has no maf sensor
I have on 05 trailblazer. Sometimes just turns off after backing out of the driveway and switching to drive. Starts right back up no problem but turns off as if you turned the key off. Think this would help?
Hmmm. I wouldn't think so. That doesn't sound very related. Do you have any lights on your dash or codes showing?
I have a similar issue with my 04. But it only hesitates (RPM fluctuates about 200 RPM) when in top gear 70-90 Km/h. No issues on high speed or idling. Any suggestion will be appreciated.
Any codes?
Try changing out the "oil pressure sensor". It's located right next to the oil filter. Easy fix big difference in vehicle hesitating or rough idle.
@@TNCelt1 no codes, I figured the issue already. It was the VSS installed on the tranny.

Early model trailblazer doesn't have a maf sensor
True.
My 02 envoy doesn’t have a mass air flow sensor....
Is it the L6 or a V8? V8 variants in these frequently didn't buy I had thought all the L6 engines did from 02 to 08
Its called a torx bit
Yeah...I actually knew that but had a brain f-rt when I was recording. Too lazy for a 2nd take. Lol...
Customers cars aren't sanitized If you plug 🔌 it in for the they shouldn't have a problem

You wouldn't believe how many times I've heard that...🤣
Why should the guys at Autozone get into a grown man’s vehicle to plug in a OBD II scanner????

Yeah...I know. I was just having a brain fart when I did this. lol
