    Thank you for having a video that is useful for many things as I learn how to and what uses batteries… not to mention seeing you shows me as a first timer I needed to make sure to do it in right order and this is perfect. I even learned some extra battery info which is very important thank God for you👍🏼

    Pan to 1.40 minutes into this video. First I wanted to thank the author for helping me determine the continuity of the wires but I am laughing my ass off at 1.40 the author says adilagator clips and I thought I was the only one who sometimes changes a word into something different. I am not making fun but found I am not alone, LOL Thank you for the video it was VERY helpful and I promise not to go to my RV shop and ask for any adilagator clips. Life can be funny and I really did get a chuckle. My word I butcher is caterpillar as I say callapiller , no sh_t I say it that way since childhood so my hat is off to The Other Guy who made this video. Peace & God Bless, Lou Grossi

    You should update this video, 100% wrong way to wire batteries lol. You should have your leads pulling off 1 of each of the batteries. the way you have it hooked up will work but definitely pulls unevenly off the batteries, probably burn out your converter trying to compensate, , Welp anyways I suppose people like you keep RV technicians like myself busy lol. Cheers mate!

    Your wiring diagram is correct; however, you should have hooked the RV ground wire to the blue battery for the actual installation to match your diagram.

    You DO NOT use regular car batteries. you need to use deep cycles batteries. and you use Black and red cables to hook a batteries up. do not use different color cables because it will confuse people. There than that you done a good job.

    You video is helpful. Our 3 batteries only have 1 positive to positive connection. The other cables (red) running from inside the bus seem to be hooked to positive.. It seems to me we are not connected parallel except for the one long red + + please advise😮

    I recently replaced my two 12V batteries in my 2009 Big Horn. Unfortunately I did not mark the 4 wires on the battery when I unhooked the leads for the winter! I cannot find my notes on the main battery hook up. It has 4 wires for hook up to the 2 terminals. two are red and one is black and one is white. Is it as simple as 2 red to Positive and white and black to negative? Much Thxx. George

    Having everything from the RV to one battery will cause the system to draw unevenly. From the RV, it should be Pos to one battery and neg to the other battery this will allow it to draw evenly.

    You didn't hook it up like the diagram you have drawn. They should at least match.

    I am told that Negative TO house should come off of one battery - and Positive TO house should come off the other battery for equal discharge. Charging should be done the same - Positive from charger/solar controller to one battery and negative to the other. peace and happy travels.

    • @vinnyboombots8270
      @vinnyboombots8270 7 років тому +9

      You're pulling mainly off one battery. Dennis is correct in what he's telling you. Hook it up like he suggests and watch the difference in how long your batteries last. Just because you have been doing it like this for a while now doesn't mean it's been correct. Just sayin

    I enjoyed your video thank you I have two red wires for my art pod and a white and a black do I put the white and black on the negative and the two red on the positive I only want one battery?

    • @theotherguy3083
      @theotherguy3083  3 роки тому +1

      Don't do it until you get it tested. In some applications, RV color codes wirings are not like car wirings where black is negative and red is positive. On RV white is negative or ground. Black and other colors are for the positive side. Make sure you know what you are doing first.

    Hi So having 2 batteries is more steady than one??

    • @theotherguy3083
      @theotherguy3083  2 роки тому +1

      Well, two batteries means you have a bigger power cell to use for a longer period of time without severely depleting your batteries as if you were using one.

    My work truck, a GMC was custom ordered by original owner to pull his camper. It came equipped from the factory with two batteries and they are charged from the same alternator. My question is how can I hook my trucks auxillery battery system to my camper battery to charge it from the auxiliary batt/alt system already wired on the truck. The wiring harness is located behind the driver under the bed. Could I wire it to my camper battery while boondocking to keep my camper battery charged?

    • @vinnyboombots8270
      @vinnyboombots8270 7 років тому +1

      You need a battery isolator. Your alternator will charge both batteries when the engine is running but when not running you will draw from only the auxiliary battery leaving your drive battery fully charged.

    also do i put the trickle charge on the opposite batteries? battery A negative and battery B positive so leave it on for 7 days then off for 14-21 days then start all over thanks

    • @theotherguy3083
      @theotherguy3083  7 років тому

      Dave Fyffe no. You must disconnect the batteries from each other including from the rv before trickle charging.

    • @theotherguy3083
      @theotherguy3083  7 років тому

      Dave Fyffe this is my method. I trickle charge it for a week and then remove the trickle charger for 2-3 weeks. when doing so, don't leave your batteries in the cold or hot weather as it will greatly reduce the life of you batteries. leave them in a place where it is cool.
      I then repeat this method over and over. I find this method saves the life of my batteries.
      trickle charge them separately.
