Edward Berger you make us proud!🇩🇪
Edward did not nominated for Oscars, but he won Bafta, wow, this is absolutely blown away...!!!
Sarah Polley not nominated at the Baftas but wins an Oscar for Adapted Screenplay. also quiet rare.
Angela’s dress is stunning! And All Quiet on the Western Front was magnificent. The most realistic and harrowing depiction of war I’ve ever seen on film.
Lmao the transition from talking about a dress to the brutality of war
@@callum7081 Award presenter >> Award recipient
Would recommend Come and See by Elim Klimov. On another level of portraying the horrors of war IMO. Agree that AQOTWF was absolutely amazing.
Angela is stunning! Her dresses have all been gorgeous this awards season.
@@saadiatalib5896 Thank you for the recommendation!
This was well deserved, Edward Berger got snubbed for an Oscar nomination big time.
I love German Cinema so much.
So far AQOTWF won best director, best non english language film, best adapted screenplay, best score, best sound and best cinematography.
I wonder if they get the big one, best film, also.
yes, they did
@@maxis5650 just sene the video. Incredible. German media critics hated on this movie with a passion. Almost all major newspapers and websites had negative reviews for it. Just because it doesn't fit he political Zeitgeist I guess.
@@oXogon80 I am not sure about that. I'd say it fits the political zeitgeist quite well. Although I am not certain what other underlying reason could exist.
@@oXogon80 german media hates everything Everything Everywhere All at Once 😉
Bafta is the best entertainment awards today, they know Edward Bergen did not nominated for Oscars, and then they make him win at Bafta...!!!🤣🤣🤣
I didn’t expect it, however there may be the award is deserved!😉
Well deserved 👍👍Thank you BFTA 🙏
brilliant film - well deserved
Great work of art sir!
BAFTA.. show the entire walk up to the stage please. not just the speech...
👏👏👏
Congratulations ! What was that reference to "Sense and Sensibility" ? 😀
He had prior to this praised Emma Thompson
Earlier in the night, Berger won Best Non-English Film earlier and shouted out Emma Thompson (who was in the audience because she was a nominee this year) in his speech. Something along the lines of "I saw an Emma Thompson movie in 1995 and it was the best moment of my life. Thank you Emma!" Since he did not say which movie he was talking about, he must have felt the need to clarify things now that he was on the stage for the 2nd time.
He worked with Ang Lee and booked plane tickets for Emma in 1994. This was the Highlight of his life.
Can someone tell me if it has happened before when a best Non English film won Best picture as well?
Actually several times. The Baftas have not been afraid to award Best Film to films that are not in English. Among these are Bicycle Thieves, Forbidden Games, The Wages of Fear, Day for Night, Roma.
@@harmodiogonzalez5356 Ironically Parasite, the one foreign language film to win Best Picture Oscar didn't win Best Film at BAFTA.
@@nickyoude2694it would have won but they have a brilliant British World War 1 movie 1917 so they were reluctant to go ve it the award.
