Definitely agree with the part on "college doesn't teach everything you need"! But I'm glad that they're supplementing this with other things like edX and coursera mods :-)
But legit tho, point 3 is such an underrated thing.....even if you don't ask questions during lectures, sending the profs emails or going down for office hours is SUPER IMPORTANT....for the plebs like myself, it's nigh impossible to figure stuff out yourself fast enough for 'NUS standards' (i.e. by finals time)
Thank God for the meteorite that killed the dinosaurs which decompose into fuel to be used for powering the car that brought your mom to the hospital to bring you into this world with eternal grace
Point 2 striked a chord in me. I should be exploring and having fun in Y1 but as I didn’t manage to join any orientation and didn’t know many ppl, so I only focused on studying. It bored the hell out of me to the point that I ended up becoming an OGL & joining a club into Y2, effectively swapping my Y2 & Y1.
OMG, as a freshman that j entered this yr, this video is like the one video that I need the most RIGHT NOW. Recently I have been feeling abit lost regarding juggling between the different opportunities offered by the college & the commitments that come along. The piece of advice/info at 3:48 (the one abt the 4yrs timeline) is exactly what I need. Tqsm for making this video. It's very useful & enlightening :)
As a fellow computer science Shearite, I found out that our university education is inadequate in securing a decent job ONLY AFTER I have graduated. And I strongly believe it's fine not knowing how to write html or css scripts, what matters is you equip yourself with the appropriate skills for the job you want. e.g. I'm looking for a career in cloud computing, so I'm currently sitting for AWS certified exams
Dargo sir, just came across your channel yesterday, have gained a lot of inspiration as well as reality based insights from your two videos only. As an international aspirant if NUS, may I contact you for some personal guidance please ?
1:41 im sorry (english is not first language for me) so rather than going to polytechnic (diploma) or JC, it is better to go to college first then University??
JC literally stands for Junior College. In this video, dargoyaki uses college and university interchangeably..... they actually refer to the same thing in this case!
Senpai going full super Saiyan mode Improved in every aspect of content creation now a days senpai giving educational advice that's a huge leap ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Paid for the whole speedometer...gotta use the entire speedometer...That logic applies to uni, paid for the lectures, gotta make full use of the lecturer :P drive safe guys~
the point about being scared to ask "stupid" questions, i would present you with another way of considering, wont it be funny if the guy who asked "stupid" questions in class did well for school? end of thesis
