Part 2 - Newcastle Course 2023

In Part 2 of this video series we continue to look at Okuri ashi and where in Wado Ryu Karate we find, how it applies to pairs work, sparring, Chinto Kata and a whole range of techniques. We take a deep dive into the uniquelyrics Wado techniques of Junzuki Notaukomi and Gyakuzuki Notsukomi; and how body movement and management play crucial roles in perfecting this difficult and unique set of techniques. We also cover some kihon in the form of junzuki, gyaku zuki and kette variations of these techniques.
This series is a slightly different format to our usual videos, this was a small course we ran in Newcastle with our friends at Newcastle Wadokai (Colin Holmes Sensei), that we filmed. We are inviting you to join in like a member of the class to pick up on a lot of useful and thought provoking information. This series will be broken down into easy to digest 10 minute videos and will run up until the end of 2024 when we will release the full length video.
