    Since I moved to my new host in 2018, I've been using AIO Migration and it's been such a time-saver, love it!

    💯 I use the exact same tool and workflow. It’s save me countless hours AND and untold amount of worry and stress. I also use it as a fast way to archive the final deliverable on client projects.
    Nice to get some validation on this approach.
    One thing to note- don’t forget to delete old unnecessary backups as they can take up a lot of space, including in future backups.

    I use this plugin ALL THE TIME for migrating dev sites to live URLs for client projects. It is seamless and works great all the time.

      Hey buddy. Do you create your client wordpress site on localhost and then send the locally wordpress site for your client using the plugin shown in the video?

    • @igotslickshoes
      @igotslickshoes 4 місяці тому

      No, I create them on subdomains and then use the plugin to download the file to my desktop. Then I use the plug-in again on the destination URL and upload the site file there. If that makes sense.

    Jeffrey, I just duplicate the database and files via cPanel, then move it over to another account. Pretty fast process with minimal steps.

      Knowing how to manage and migrate at the database level is a good skill to have!

    I used this just last weekend and WPRSS file was corrupted, had to rebuild the database from a zip backup i thankfully had from an elementor backup. Might have been from uploading to google drive or making a copy and moving folders ? Not sure but i developed a callus on my pam from gripping/moving a mouse for 7 hours straight trying to get the site back up😂

      Also is the 300mb max upload an All In One constraint ? Mine was set by my server at something like 8mb and I had to go root around in the wp install and update the max upload size manually as my wpress file size was 2gb

    Hi Jef, thank you for the explanation about AIO WP Migration. I already use almost 1 year for backup only, but I have a question about migration with AIOM.
    When you migrate from a real live website to a local machine to revamp a website for example, how do you handle Google Analytics or another process traffic like an e-commerce website (many daily transactions) after migrating from a live website to a local machine and vice versa?

    • @LytboxStudio
      @LytboxStudio  Рік тому

      That’s a real good question. If the site has active WooCommerce sales then it’s best to use a staging solution. Some hosts like Cloudways provides this. I use WP Vivid for staging as well. Staging a site creates a clone to work on but the databases are merged so when you push the new site live, the sales and WooCommerce data stays updated.
      I wouldn’t worry about Google Analytics, the traffic will still show on either site that’s live as 1 site.

    will it export everything, the paid theme, the products, all comments, reviews, customer list, etc .... ??

    • @LytboxStudio
      @LytboxStudio  4 місяці тому

      It'll export it all. But for some plugins you'll need to reactivate your license since licenses are tied to URLs

    i'm trying to use the same plugin to migrate my website from host A to host B. Looks easy to install the plug in in WP admin on the new host but I'm stuck, don't know how to access wp-admin on host B because its all the same web address. and I can't point my nameservers to the new host yet because the website files are not imported into host B yet.
    Hope you can help me :)

    I have done 3 to 4 times and it does show that it has been migrated but the moment i try to share it with my mates like on a mobile phone especially so that they could see it, it just never opens and shows an error.

      Sounds like something happening with the hosting. I'd reach out to your hosting support

    I keep having issues trying to copy your blueprint. The migration plugin has a very small limit of mb in its free version, so I couldn't use that. I installed Duplicator and made a back up with that, which I then installed on my local host, (mamp). While it does the installation and I log in and everything, the site does not appear on the front-end.
    No biggie, I just thought I'd let you know. I'll do changes I like manually on a fresh install!
    Cheers

    If I have a website but remaking it. I remade the new website in a subdomain. Do I have to erase the old website and install the new site on it or can i just install the new site ontop on the old one?

    How would you migrate to a site that's already live and built and you are doing a redesign?

    Should we have to keep our computer switched on for hours for the server to run

    • @LytboxStudio

      The local server is only for your use, not for the public. There is an option to share that can be handy showing a client your work and for that, it needs to stay on. But TBH, I never use the share option. Once you get a good flow of migrating local to live and back, it because easy and quick for showing updates.
