Great testing, Jason. Very comprehensive and thorough. I've had one of these for about four months now and though I don't use the smart phone apps, or bluetooth it has worked flawlessly to drag around and power up tools and things remotely. Thanks.
I bought 3 AllPowers Monster S2000 and 2 S600. AllPowers always have good specs for the price compared to the competitors. Unfortunately, 2 out of the 3 Monster S2000 failed and the last one doesn’t solar charge. Pretty much all are bricked. These supposedly had lifetime warranties but I never get a reply from support. I would never recommend AllPowers especially if you depend on these for emergencies
While this isn't the news I like to hear, I really appreciate you sharing your experiences in the comments section about their customer support. I feel this is common with these smaller brands.
Thanks for the thorough and well planned review. Your unit did test pretty well. I think that the R series may be a decent value if you buy them at a big enough discount. Just don’t count on any post sale support
What up Doe Dr J' Nice review, good information about the expansion battery because I was thinking about grabbing one to go with my R1500? Great vid as usual 👍🏽
It appears to be an outstanding price for what you get. Unfortunately, my experience with AllPowers put them on my Do Not Buy list. My R600 died suddenly and I was unable to get through to their support about it. A small folding solar panel I had from them was also defective, with its voltage too low to charge my phone (around 4.8V iirc). Excellent video; I just don't trust this particular company.
I recall during a recent live Q&A you stating you stay away from brands that could waste your time because it takes so long to thoroughly review products. Your reply was directly at the question I asked if you ever reviewed a power station that did not live up to the claims. Therefore, I was surprised to see you have a video on this company, AllPowers 😮 Perhaps you have not come across the many negative views others have seen....the internet is a huge space, so I get it, but certainly would not trust anything from this "company". I suppose if it does well during your testing that means something. There's no way for you to know about after sales or future failure. I appreciate all that you do in your tests 👊👏
As usual, good job. If I needed one of this size it gets my money. For all interested, I just watched a channel where a guy took apart a Bluetti to add a DIY extra battery. I can see why the extra cost is merited - beautiful build. channel was titled John "Headsmasher" Daniel
I have their 299 wh generator and 140 kw solar panel. The generator stopped charging VIA all sources within 6 months with light use. I contacted them(Chinese). I had to send them a video showing them it was not charging. They let me keep the broken one and they sent me a new. Same thing happened with the solar panel. It would only generate 40kw on the sunniest of sunny days. Same process, same results.
Bought mine last April for 399 funny to see this video today as I just saw the extra battery today for 339 on eBay.. been waiting for that for a long time..
I have an R600 299wh power station and it's great and I get the same efficiency on the inverter around 82% with a 5% reserve. However that was around a 1.1c load(I was trying to not have the inverter drain as an issue). I'm wondering if I try a .2c load I can squeeze another couple of watt hours out of it. To be fair a 600w continuous and a 1200w surge on such a small battery is pretty intense so I'm happy with it. I did a calculation and it's using 10.19w per hour to run the inverter on the R600 with no load. Was a great price though and it can charge fast either with solar(I even did a series test with 2 120w panels) or with the built in wall charger.
Pecron seems to be making a name for themselves in their product quality, I just hope they can make a name for themselves regarding customer support. I'm still on the fence with that 👍
I was really wanting to purchase the larger R2500 as it has the size of inverter and battery for my need and also includes the 30a RV plug. Was really disappointed when it didn't didn't come with a UPS feature. Any idea if using a line conditioner would help with this? I ask because my home's pellet stove won't run off my Bluetti EB70S without one, so I can only assume that it's output isn't squeaky clean.
I reviewed the AllPowers R2500 and definitely confirmed it has UPS mode, I tested it HERE: ua-cam.com/video/I-hZl4ZFedU/v-deo.htmlsi=rBBgqAIu6sEVa0GV&t=471
Thanks for the heads up, I hope to see it on all brands just like we see fast AC wall charging and UPS mode now. It needs to be a standard feature. 10 amps isn't enough.
I've had the R1500 for a year now. The app has always been very poor, and Allpowers has not fixed anything with the app. My other gripe is that as a UPS, the unit will not come back on when power is restored. I no longer use it as a UPS. The other thing is that it won't register DC input below 31 watts. Allpowers is aware of all of this and is responsive to customer service concerns. They always want a video of the issue and offer responses that are non productive. For a budget unit, it is OK.
I like your channel. Seems a strict testing process. BUT having trusted and tested 4 allpowers unit that i purchased purely on big trusted channels. The unit especially the mppt and fans were truly awful. For instance clicking relays, trying hard to start the mppt.
I didn't hear relays in this unit when solar charging, even when using a low solar voltage. I know their older "S" units had issues with solar charging but this newer generation seemed to work well.
@Jasonoid that's what all powers said when I emailed them. I want to like the new units they've always offered good value but some things can't be ignored. Crappy fans and MPPT
@sun-sea-solar if you want the best solar performance on these units and quiet fans, you can't go with a budget unit. There are definite sacrifices going with a cheaper unit. They don't give a crap about how loud their fans are... They seem to just install the cheapest server fans.
@Jasonoid normally I would agree about budget power stations but after having the fossibot f2400 and sit it next to my Bluetti ac200max (which is nearly 2 years old) the fossibot actually seems silent in comparison. That fossibot was only £679 here in the UK compared to £1199 of the ac200max
interesting, on my allpowers r1500 i get 155 watts tops from my 3 lion energy 100watt 12 volt panels, only one way to connect them but i think they are in parallel. i get 220 watts connected to my ecoflow river 2 max. and yes, the bluetooth and wifi with the r1500 leaves much to be desired. no updates ever. i contacted allpowers and they keep saying the same thing. that its working fine.
Make it smaller! It's huge! Also the expansion battery having wireless charging on the top doesn't make sense the way they are stacked. I run the Anker C1000. Not much reason to change or even addon.
Having some experience with Allpowers, i'd have to question the longevity of these products. I don't have hundreds of dollars to waste on something that could wind up an expensive brick.
My thoughts as well. I have heard good and bad about these units. Which is why I will probably spend a little bit more up front and go with the PECRON E1500LFP Expandable Portable Power Station 2200W 1536Wh, it's on sale for $619. I already have it's little brother and it has been rock solid for a few years now.
They have totally redesigned the units I actually reached out to them having had a nightmare with 4 other units. They told me they have changed the 2 Major issues of the fans and MPPT problems
It sure has great specs compared to other brands, even the performance was pretty good too. Thanks for doing all this in depth testing! I love seeing the AC inverter surge testing.
I love the capacity to inverter ratio this unit offers. Love the 95V charging capacity. I do wish it could power a diesel heater and agree that the 12V should support 15 amps. Do you know if you are using it as a UPS while connected to a Fridge and the power goes out if it will automatically turn on the inverter if it was discharged to zero. I know that the Delta 2 and the Delta Max will restart automatically if they were discharged to zero and when the power comes on it will start the fridge again once the unit has charged to 5%. You do have to program it in the apps on your phone though. As always, great testing information. Merry Christmas Jason.
Merry Christmas! This model doesn't support turning the AC inverter back on automatically once power is restored. You'd have to manually turn on the AC inverter via the smart app.
PLEASE - somebody put an inverter & a pair of 15 amp 120v AC outlets on an EXPANSION battery so I can use it to maintain my deep freezer, and a small ceramic heater in the back mudroom... (short term usage during power outages)
The specs are slightly better than the EcoFlow Delta 2, the Anker C1000, and the Bluetti AC180 so I'm interested to see what my viewers experience has been with AllPowers models / customer service.
Reading the comments from people who purchased this brand makes me think twice about the products you promote on your channel. And no way around it, you are promoting them. This really cheapens your channel and makes me really question the validity of anything you say about other products. I almost purchased a Renogy solar panel based and your review, but doing my own research, found that some of your statements came off as misleading. I really hope you weigh out the pros and cons of taking money from a cheap overnight company to promote their products. I definitely don't get these products for 'free'. I exchange my time (multiple weeks of testing, over 40 tests) for the product in my video. However, my viewers get to watch that hard work for 'free'. I learned my lesson about testing products from AllPowers.
