You radiate your excitement :) Everything will be fine, relax, enjoy the process and just let your light shine. You are sweet and a joy to watch. Congratulations!!!
Such an sweet and hardworking lady 🥰🥰🥰
You are so kind 😊
@@homegrowngarden You are kind and humble dear 🥰🥰🥰
Congratulations! We are getting married next autumn and have given our guests a seed mix with their save the days to grow for the table decorations. We’re still planning our main bouquet but various sunflowers and verbena will probably feature. I would love to see more videos from you following your wedding flowers journey (and a guest appearance from Bev for arrangement tips if that would work for you).
I wish you all the best. Happy, healthy, long life to you both.
Love the excitement that is showing in your gorgeous smile. I think this is a brilliant idea and to have your future Mother Inlaw involved is very special for both of you. How satisfying it will be to walk down to your husband to be, holding flowers grown by you. I just love the idea! I planned garden beds either side of our front steps to be full of flowers grown by seed and to see them forming buds is next level excitement. Please take us through everything as I wasn’t clever enough to document what I did 😅. We’ll get to enjoy the excitement too which is wonderful. Congratulations again to both of you ♥️♥️
You're wedding flowers will be just beautiful! Good luck!
This is very romantic; the proposal, the home grown flowers and your joyful demeanor. What a lovely couple you appear to be!
Your allotment is going to be stunning next year with all the flowers! Then of course your wedding will benefit too :) Congratulations Katrina 💚
Ohh I am so happy for you!!!!!! Congratulations, look forward to all the flowers you will grow💕💕🌺🌻🌼🌻🌺🥀🌹
Growing your own bridal flowers is a great idea. I look forward to seeing them come into bloom next year xx
You are such a sweetheart! the joy and love that radiates from you is highly addictive :) I wish you to always experience this deep connection with nature and with all the living! You are a treasure and a keeper! May the love be with you on your journeys! Dusky
I love seeing your excitement, and I’m excited to think that we’ll be watching your challenge for growing your personal selection of wedding flowers.
Knowing you have a florist in your back pocket is fantastic. You are going to make a beautiful bride and I couldn’t be happier for you. Thanks for sharing your exciting venture with wishes for a successful outcome. 👍❤️😊
So exciting! I would love to grow mine some day
Can’t wait to see your journey!
Beautiful news! Congratulations and best wishes to you two. Gorgeous selections of flowers to grow!
Your attitude will ensure your success. You know some things won't work and already plan to be flexible. If you have the same attitude toward the hundreds of details of a wedding, it will be both comfortable and exciting for you, your man, and your friends and family. Please continue to update us on your "Wedding Garden 2023" series!
congratulations on your upcoming marriage
Congratulations! Growing the flowers yourself and having your future mother in law’s help is a great idea, not to mention that’s it’s fantastic for your budget. Good luck with all the flowers and no matter what happens you’ll have a beautiful bouquet and will be a lovely bride. My daughter is getting married next week so I’m already in wedding mode!
So excited for you. Wen my daughter got married my sister did all the flowers as she not a florist but used to grow statice scabies straw flowers etc for Covent Garden and made dried flower arrangements to sell. So we had masses of flowers and we all had a helping hand in it including my mum who was in her late 80’s.we collected rose petals and gave out in cones to the guests for confetti as the church didn’t want the bought confetti scattered everywhere. I made the cake and cakes all cup cakes were individually decorated by my nieces and others so they were a beautiful show. Each of the 4 cake layers were different and not stacked on top but floating. It was such a beautiful virtually all handmade wedding by all the family it was amazing so memorable. I hope yours will be too and I think it’s lovely you will be growing your own. Enjoy the preparations and record every step or take a pic. We have baths filled with flowers outdoor workshops with buckets of them kitchens full of cakes etc etc so so memorable. Lots of love to you and your preparations xxx💜
What a fun journey for you and your viewers, I look forward to watching your progress! Please do give us a mini plot tour showing where you plan to do your planting. 🙂
Congratulations hope you have a wonderful wedding and life together.
Congratulations That was so Sweet. I like this series also
You're getting married...wow Congratulations...!!
Yes! Thank you! 🎉
What a brilliant idea to grow your flowers! My friend's husband grew sweet peas for their son's wedding 10 years ago. They had seeds growing in all their windowsills and certain family members houses( who could be trusted to look after the starting and looking after them) until they were ready to plant out. They were on the tables, in the church and mixed within the bouquets. Such a beautiful idea to make your wedding more personal too. Hope they all grow in abundance for you! xx
Congratulations Katrina, I hope we're all invited 💒
Congratulations, hope it's the best day and your flowers bloom just as your heart desires
Congrats!! Thats so exciting!!
I've grown almost all of these flowers. I would definitely get the hot biscuits Amaranth the color would add nicely to you color scheme. If you're worried about this one getting to big pinch out the center so you don't get one huge stem, rather a lot of usable smaller stems. The seed head scabiosa takes a while to form a seed head so make sure you get that going fairly early so you have enough time for it to develop, they're really neat. The grass that you're growing is a great filler, here in the US some of us call that frosted explosion grass makes an arrangement look magical. Have you ever grown a zinnia called Queen or Queeny Lime Orange? It's beautiful antique shades of orange also best if pinched in early growth. Everything sounds lovely and can't wait to see the process and progress.
Those are all stunning flowers my bouquet will be beautiful 😊
As backup I'd plant a lot of gladiolus and Dahlias, and I'd plant a few achilleas, penstemons, alstroemerias, and the Aster variety mönch. I'd get grow a row of Sedum Autumn Joy, which is great as a filler just as it's starting to colour up. Zinnias and Amaranth are excellent cut flowers but might not grow at all if we have cool summer. A late sowing of the opium poppy variety called papaver soniferum 'gigantea' would give you amazing seedheads. In terms of foliage, I find that the black elder Sambucus 'black lace' make s a great late filler that looks fresh in Autumn, and grows so fast that you'd have lots of it in year one. If you can find year old eucalyptus plants, they'll grow like mad in one year. For silver foliage, those senicio bedding plants known as 'cineraria' would be cheap and effective.
What a lovely idea ! I really look forward to seeing the progress and all the beautiful colours you have chosen. Congratulations !
Such exciting sowing plans for a beautiful day. Congratulations to both of you, and enjoy every moment of it! 🥂🍾
Congratulations!!!! Can not wait to follow your series to seeding all these beautiful flowers, and learn through your journey. Congratulations again!!!
Look forward to seeing all the flowers grow they all look beautiful flowers thank you for sharing them with us
Congratulations! Even though you've been together for 12 years, "will you marry me" are wonderful words to hear! Will you be growing all these flowers on your allotment? If so, and if there's room, will you also be growing any veg next year? You are such a sweet girl. I'm sure everything will work out; things always do. Can't wait to see your beautiful wedding garden in full bloom!
I have planted Aster's and Zinnia's every year. But Aster's win in abundance every year. I'm in a cooler climate though.
0MG a wedding at last and flower display that will shame the Royals as well. Bless you both
Oh boy, I'm soooooo excited with you for the year ahead - and long may it continue after the happy event! It's going to be such fun following you in this project - especially the dahlias from seed. And thanks too for telling us about the lucky man on bended knee in the woods, what a sweetie :) All the very best to both of you, with love from the south of France.
Sounds perfect! You already grow such beautiful flowers every year, so don't worry...you got this! I just started growing more flowers this year and managed to grow lisianthus from seed. Relatively easy, but they take 5mths to grow before they bloom...they would be gorgeous in a wedding too😊
Best wishes! Can’t wait to watch you grow your flowers. I was a wedding florist for years and it is still magical for me.
Congratulations!!!!! So excited for you!
Thank you so much 😀
Loved your flower overview. Can’t wait to see them. Best of luck growing. They will be beautiful. Cheers!

Congratulations on the upcoming wedding! I love flowers and this sounds like a wonderful series to follow you growing them all. Several of them can be pinched back to create a later blooming if you want both seed heads and blooms from the same plant.

Yay! Thank you!
What an awesome variety of seeds! Your flowers will be beautiful! I grew status and Bishops Children dahlias from seed this year and they both were so easy to grow. There were a lot of different colours of the Bishops Children! It's so wonderful that your fiancee's mum will be doing the bouquets for you!
Many congratulations.
I will be cheering on your growing, romantic, adventure.
Also, thank you for the Pickles Beetroot recipe.
So exciting and lovely. Can’t wait to see the results. Have fun🎉

I can’t wait to help you create your bouquet and thank you for asking me to help xx
Honestly I’m so excited and glad you are a part of it! I’m looking forward to you visiting the plot in summer so we can look at how the flowers are growing and discuss the design options 💐😁
Me too, can’t wait. Excitement overload. 🥰xx
Beautiful selection for your upcoming wedding. Would love to be a part of your wedding global plans
I grew my own flowers for my wedding on August 27th of this summer and it was one of the best and biggest garden projects I have taken on. I originally wanted a colour scheme similar to yours but I ended up with much more yellow, red and burgundy in my bridal bouquet and I loved it. I also made the bridesmaid bouquets, table flowers and pieces for my arch that I got married under. Good luck to you and I can’t wait to see how beautiful your flowers turn out!
How exciting 💕💕💕
Looking forward to the wedding video ! Love from Scotland - since your wee fish have Scottish names I think your fiance should be wearing a kilt on the big day..
Haha I was saying to Kat literally last night how awesome kilts look and how disappointed I was that (not having any Scottish in me at all) I’ll probably never have an excuse to wear one
So happy for you. Of course I want to hear all the details you are willing to share. It will be fun to see how your garden grows , with a wedding in mind.
How exciting, congratulations! Here's to a very successful planting and growing year for your very special flowers!
Oh keep us up to date! How exciting. Wild flowers are nice to add too! Keep an eye out for good grans too you might clip!
Congratulation on getting married next Year! Lovely to see how excited you are too. Enjoy every single minute of your journey to your wedding day. It can be stressful but, try and enjoy as much as possible. I can still remember my wedding day very clearly which was 32 years ago! Looking forward to watching your journey. Thanks for sharing and take care 🙂
Tip for growing zinnias. They often are attacked by aphids. Since you want your. Blooms for your wedding, plant something around them that detract aphids or plant something that will draw aphids somewhere else like milk weed . Enjoying your show for several years now! Thank you!
Here in Missouri we almost skipped fall. It was in the 70s and 80s (low to mid 20s C) then the temps plummeted and it's been below freezing since. I had gotten my tomato plants through a brief cold snap in October, but Nov 10 I did the final harvest. The extra weeks in nice weather helped. I picked over two dozen ripe or almost so, another 15 or so partially ripened, and a big lot of green ones of various sizes.
Congratulations 🎊 👏
Congratulations lovely lady, and your 'intended'. What kept him? He's a lucky man, and obviously a bit of an old romantic. Please keep us updated on the wedding arrangements, as well, obviously, your regular reports on 'The Allotment'.
Would love to see what you have planned for the wedding 🌼🐝
Dear one, I hope your bouquet will be tossed to one who 's as worthy of love as you are. A bouquet, you know is traditionally given away!!! I hope you will share this video with her so she realizes the profound delight you gave all of us this 2022 autumn.
What a lovely thing to do, I look forward to following your journey. x
How exciting and wonderful things to look forward to.
Such an exciting project for you to take on. I know it seems overwhelming, but you are such a live by nature person that any floral changes Mother Nature sends your way I’m sure you will be able to take in stride. I can’t wait to see the garden allotment change.
Perfect timing bc I'm planning my garden for next year! This will make an amazing series of videos. I was hoping you'd mention statice bc it reminds me of strawflowers! The airy ornamental grass you mentioned is gorgeous too. Your allotment is going to be so pretty 😭. It's good you're hedging with a lot of types of flowers
Congratulations to you both,we were together 10 years before we were married,we knew we would do it we were just having a good time,we too have been cycling the Tissington trail & we also were married in early autumn (7th October) the colours we had were all autumnal colours amber, red etc, that was 17 years ago how time flies, good luck growing your flowers for your wedding we are sure you will be successful what a brilliant idea,xx
Congratulations on your coming wedding! 💕 I'm getting married too next year early autumn and also plan on growing my own flowers. Looking forward to following your journey. Love the color scheme you've chosen.
I've had some success with starting Zinnia in largish modules, as long as the soil isn't too rich and they don't stay in there too long. Good luck :)
What a wonderful thing to do, I know your flowers will be gorgeous and make the day even more special. I love your selections and you are so clever to have multiple fillers and seed heads in mind. Can’t wait to watch them as they grow.
I'm SO happy for you!!!
I grew dahlias from seed for the first time this year and I was very surprised how easy they were to grow. You can always succession grow flowers. I grow zinnia in seed trays and transplant and it works for me. I’m sure your wedding will turn out beautifully.
Congratulations from USA

My son is getting married next year and I’d like to grow as many wedding flowers for him on my allotment. I’m a qualified florist too. He might be getting married in May. So I shall need to look for early flowering flowers...
Fabulous selection of flowers, your garden will look wonderful even if there are some failures, there will certainly be plenty of alternatives and I share your excitement to see how it all comes together with the help of your mother in law. Thanks for sharing your proposal story , a wonderful moment for you both. Good luck!
