Hiking to Goldbug Hot springs in Salmon Idaho

- This is an epic adventure for all to experience near Salmon Idaho. The first 1/4 mile passes through private property. Please respect the area. This is a beautiful challenging 3.6 mile trail, that leads to some magical hot springs over looking the picturesque mountains in the Salmon Challis National Forest. Bring extra water, hiking poles, water shoes, swim suit and towel. There is camping along the way, but remember to pack out what you pack in, to keep the trails clean for all to enjoy.

For someone new to hiking, who insists on trying to hike to goldbug... do you have any suggestions or warnings to help make this a little more manageable?
It is a steep hike. Do you have any knee problems? Use hiking poles and take your time. Do you use the all trails ap? The actual trail is pretty clearly marked, but the location is not marked on the highway to take the turn. Bring water and snacks, and wear your suit if you are not comfortable changing in the open. Getting towards the top of the mountain has loose rocks and it has a steep drop off, so again go slow and if you are afraid of heights, don't panic you will get to the top and it will be worth the effort. Parking is limited, arrive early, and enjoy the beauty. My favorite place is goldbug. The hotsprings are so incredible...
