For when you don't want to take your 'real' ax on an airline flight. It's nice that it has the guitar silhouette print on the outside of the bag. The SoloEtte Travel Guitar case always makes me nervous carrying it since it is a somewhat similar shape and size of a gun case. The silhouette print would help.
I actually just got this one a few weeks ago and am loving it. Nice to see it finally making the review rounds though, just glad I didn't end up regretting the purchase.
Good to hear. Some people are criticizing it for the price but at the end of the day if the price you pay is good for the quality of the guitar you get then you're good to go. I played great cheap guitars and I've played great expensive guitars. This thing has its own unique characteristics that seem to make a lot of sense for the goal of that type of guitar.
Sounds awesome on that first plug in.

This thing looks fun as hell to jam on around the house. I’ve been looking into a Steinberger Spirit, now I gotta throw this on the list.
I had a Spirit and hated it!! The build quality was horrible and if you plant your pinky when playing the volume pot is in the worst possible place. I'd recommend trying one in person if you can.
@@halofour01 Thank you! Yeah I try not to pull the trigger on something more than 200 before I can play it. I’ve heard Gibson ruined the Steinberger brand, I haven’t gotten to try out a new one. But the old ones were phenomenal.
@Luna-tic Unless you have little ones. Full sized guitars tend to get manhandled by my kids whenever I play them, especially if there’s a trem bar. Wanna try something less accessible.
I like the nylon string sound and it is not as ugly or stumpy looking as a Steinberger eventhough the guitars are brothers (or sisters, or cousins). Good seeing you Steve.

Has that Steinberg vibe to it, and they are the ultimate, also a bit of Hofner shorty. I think this Donner would look better without the 'guitar shapes' less is always more

Thanks for your reviews of the Donner products. I have many of their products. This thing looks cool. Not sure how comfortable those leg rest things would be. I clicked on it and was a bit surprised it was 300. Maybe it will drop in time like most things or catch it on sale.

Considering a baby Taylor is $399, it would be hard to justify the purchase - maybe if you really needed to play an "acoustic" with headphones I guess. It is kind of cool, though.

The new model Yamaha silent 200s don't have the sound quality the model 110s. Uses a China pickups.
@@elanofigueiredo2893 Actually you can use completely modeled sound on 200s. Only one "pickup" in the 200s which could be replaced by something else. Seems the best thing is to just blend the two sound sources. Price of Yamaha is always high of course.

this guitar has an unusal amazing sound even with the sqeaky lead sound i think if you want a unique sound and sounds lovely thos is the guitar for you

Thanks for the video. I just ordered one of these yesterday. I was wondering how it would sound through an amp with Electric Guitar type settings from your video it didn't sound too bad. I am not planning on using it to gig, I am planning on using this for practice with a Fender Mustang Micro and want it to sound decent with some gain and possibly distortion so I can practice playing all kinds of music, not just acoustic stuff.

If you could relocate the jack and stick the "lower bout" in the original jack's location and angle, you'd have something a bit more ergonomic, which would be great.

I think the idea of “un-boxing” or “unveiling” in this manner is unnecessary. I’d much prefer to see an abbreviated assembly to playing status and a closer demonstrating the details afterwards.

You know, this thing sounds pretty good for a piezo pickup electro-acoustic. I've certainly heard worse and from more expensive guitars. Hmmm... triggering an unexpected little bit of GAS. Sigh... I have to stop buying gear. Thanks for the review, Steve.
Marc as soon as I read your comment I looked back at the guitar and I thought to myself G it might be interesting to add another pickup to this thing. It could be fairly easy to do. Then you could blend the Piezo with the regular pickup.

It seems you guys know a lot about guitars so I have a question for you guys. which guitar would you guys suggest for a newbie? I'm from India and most people here suggest buying a Yamaha acoustic guitar.
Also, I have no idea about pickup or piezo is it something to care about while buying guitar.
@@madhavmathur4008 - Well, there are all types of acoustic guitars but they will generally fall into two categories... WITH a pickup and WITHOUT. The second kind you can only amplify using a microphone. If you play for yourself or for a few friends around the table or a campfire and such, you won't need a pickup.
If, however, you perform to an audience in a larger hall or auditorium, you'll need to amplify the sound. The easiest way to do that is with a guitar that has a pickup installed. Typically, acoustics use piezo pickups and they're useful because they can amplify steel string or nylon string instruments. They aren't the best sounding pickups but are the most practical in a 'live' situation.
As for which guitar, that depends on availability and budget. Yamaha makes fine instruments of all sorts and you'd probably be pleased with any model from them. They aren't the best, but they'll sound all right and will probably play well, too. Good luck and have fun.
Great effort but it will need work prior to it being playable. I have one but if you can’t do luthier stuff don’t bother. It’s a mess out of the box.
Are you able to play classical on this guitar?
Maybe. It's a piezo pickup, so I'm guessing nylon strings would work.
Cool. Where do you clip on the tuner?
The tuner clipping on is one of my gripes. There's a metal piece at the head where you clip it on but you have to put it on the edge and it's not very well thought out. Luckily though, this thing stays in tune pretty well, even with new strings.
So not plugged in, no headphones, how loud would this be to others? Looking for something I can fly up to camp and not disturb the neighbors.
Possibly a stupid question but all the reviews are of what the user hears.
It's as loud as any solid-body guitar being played unplugged. So light playing will be very quiet, but heavy strumming probably not.

Does it actually require a 9v battery? Should be button batteries in 2023. I'm sure I'd lose the screws at some point. Interesting concept. Poorly conceived. Donner does a good job making budget friendly gear. But, those bars would annoy me in more ways than one. Still, I'd value it at around $150.
Looks like a ship in a bottle. They should do a design based on that concept.
